Clay Aiken Joins America’s Next Top Model
American Idol alum Clay Aiken will be a guest judge on America’s Next Top Model, reports Us Weekly.
A show rep confirms the 30-year-old singer will be featured on the show’s April 8 episode, working with the aspiring models in an acting challenge. (Clay played the role of Sir Robin for the Broadway musical Spamalot.)
America’s Next Top Model’s twelfth cycle premieres on Wed., Feb. 25.

Awwwwww. I think this sounds like fun. Tyra’s show is one of my guilty pleasures. Easy on the eyes and fascinating with what they do with the photography. Sounds like Clay, who is a good RL friend to Tyra, is having a little fun after his Spamalot run on Broadway.

My daughter watches this show, she said Tyra loves her some Clay Aiken. Well, daughter loves her some Tyra, so she brought Clay’s last album and loves it.

Um - why? He’s not a model, not a photographer, knows nothing about fashion, isn’t a ratings getter, he’s not even a hair or makeup guy or a set designer, or, or, or, or…… So far as I can tell he has no qualifications whatsoever. ANTM has been losing me more and more each season - I’m pretty much over the whole damned thing.

Um - why not? The segment is an ACTING challenge. Spending 7 months in a lead roll on Broadway certainly is qualification enough to participate in this challenge.
Tyra always has been partial to the gays. Oh, well…now that Clay’s out, I guess we’ll be seeing him embrace his gayness.
Saw Clay in Spamalot. He was very good. Can’t wait. Love Tyra.

Sometimes the models are required to learn lines, dress in costumes and to run through a skit with an actor on a stage. The actor then judges the models on their acting ability (or lack thereof). Clay is certainly qualified to do this after just completing a successful run in Broadway’s Spamalot. With his fairness and sense of humor, he will be a good judge.

I cannot get over the comments from people who have not followed his career !!! If you did , you would know that the dude got RAVE….and GLOWING reviews for his appearance on Broadway in Spamalot . Clay is a phenominal entertainer and now can add improv (yes improv) comedic acting to his list of accomplishments. Do any of you making those silly comments know just how difficult it is to pull of that kind of feat ?? Clay took the place of David Hyde Pierce (Fraser) after DHP winning a Toni for his part as Robin in Spamalot . For anyone to do this let alone a novice is truly remarkable and Clay received nothing but good reviews for it ~!!
Clay is a fantastic choice to show some of the girls some ACTING tips (after all he has acted in a few shows now ) and to be a judge (he has been a Judge before for a Cdn. talent compitition) and he still has a HUGE fanbase !

Some of these nasty comments sounds as if made by people who have ulterior motives behind them. Perhaps jealousy, envy? Clay is an amazing entertainer and ambassador for Unicef and children worldwide. I wonder what positive things these naysayers do in their life other than being negative with their remarks and try to be hurtful.

Should be a fun show. I know Clay is one of Tyra’s RL friends and he’s a really nice guy with a wicked sense of humor. I can’t figure out the Clayhating either. He’s really one of the good guys.
What would be really fun is a camera crew recording Clay and Tyra having one of their real life chats. Clay likes to gossip with the best of them…..and have his hair and make-up done.
Now, THIS is one show I won’t miss. We caught Clay in Spamalot, when we were in NYC, and that guy blew us away. He CAN act, and no one can possibly not recognize his fantastic voice. I also thought he was hilarious on stage.
He will do a super job, and I can’t wait. I know my nieces would line up to play opposite Clay in almost anything!!!!
