Chris Brown Arrested, Bail Set At $50K
Chris Brown surrendered to LAPD on Sunday evening, was taken into custody at 6:30 p.m. and was officially booked at 7:41 p.m.
The 19-year-old “Forever” singer has been charged with one felony count after an alleged assault on Saturday night. His bail has been set at $50,000.
Both Chris and his girlfriend Rihanna were no-shows for Sunday night’s Grammy Awards. They were both scheduled to perform and replaced with a performance of “Let’s Stay Together” by Justin Timberlake and Al Green.

To the commenter who said Rihanna gave Chris Brown Herpes - first of all Herpes 1 and 2 are tricky to test for - and you cannot prove that because she has a cold sore you have him type 2 the cold sore is cause d by type 1 - also women show lesions before men - we do not understand why this is so but a woman can get it from a man who has no visible signs - the more sexual partners you have the greater your chances…
You can have herpes and not even know it - why don’t you go take a test and find out maybe then you will shut your mouth….
Jared you need to put yourself in Chris shoes, what if someone gave you an STD that you can’t get rid of? I don’t agree with him beating her like that but I can see how that could happen. Yes, I have met Chris and I can say he’s not that kind of guy but sometimes things happen that make us step out of our character. Don’t be so hard on him and pray for them both.

Chris Brown is presumed innocent until proven guilty. That is our American legal system. It is; what is it is. Chris Brown like every American can assert defenses to counter the allegations made against him. All the facts pertaining to the incident have not been revealed; therefore, it is simply too premature to convict him. Criminal threat (which has several facets to its elements), is definitely different from assault and battery. However, the inference based on the media is that she had bruises, physical injuries. Thus, that matter will need to be addressed.
However, it has not been proven that he caused the bruises. There are several issues here that a trier of fact will need to consider. The bottom-line is like every other, American, Chris Brown should be treated fairly by the legal system. Additionally, the woman, which some reports indicate is Rihanna, should also be heard. Finally, the one thing that is definite in this case of uncertainty and multiple issues is that the legal system will not be overhauled just for this case. Also because of their age and the location of the incident being California whether Chris Brown and Rihanna were consuming alcohol or given alcohol by an adult should be entertained and the affect on both their actions and states of mind should be explored.
WHO KNOWS IF WE’LL EVER KNOW THE WHOLE STORY & WHAT REALLY HAPPENED THAT NIGHT, BUT I’M SURE ALOT OF STORIES WILL CONTINUE TO BE TOLD & RUMORS THAT WILL BE MADE UP TO ADD TO THE NONSENSE OF IT ALL. THEY BOTH WHERE WRONG NO MATTER WHAT IS SAID, THEY ARE BOTH ADULTS! PERIOD! AND SECOND WHEN SOMETHING DRASTIC LIKE THIS HAPPENS, EXPECIALLY WITH STARS, IT BLOWS UP IN THE MEDIA & EVERYONE TAKES IT TO A WHOLE NEW LEVEL & DOESN’T ADD WATER TO THE FIRE, BUT IT ADDS MORE FUEL. I WISH BOTH OF THEM THE BEST. NO-ONE IS PERFECT, EVERYONE MAKES MISTAKES. THIS WILL BE A LEARNING PROCESS FOR THE BOTH OF THEM. THEY WILL HAVE TO OVERCOME THE MEDIA, THEIR FAMILIES, FRIENDS, FANS, AND MOST OF ALL THEIR CAREERS.

Chris Brown is a good man, and never seems violent. But I think he is addicted to something, and something not good.
Most of the famous people are crazy and do not know what to do with their money. So they try things like drugs, alcohol and tobacco, or sexual items. Which is not good for people like that to be crazy.

Rihanna is beautiful and Chris is beautiful too. I hope they can get this behind them. We don’t agree with any volence in any form. And we really don’t know anything. We assume much and know little. The media, blogs, and what ever feeds us. But until these two young people tell us the story we don’t know anything. Just like Brittney Spears we really didn’t know anything. I think she was great then while all of you complained. And I think she is great now. Let’s chill and stop saying unreasonable comments on things we don’t know.
