Jennifer Hudson Wins Grammy — Best R&B Album
Jennifer Hudson (in RM by Roland Mouret Trenet) accepts the Grammy for best R&B album at the 2009 Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center on Sunday in Los Angeles.
“I don’t really know what to say,” the 27-year-old singer said during her acceptance speech, trying to fight back tears. “First of all, I got Whitney Houston presenting me [with my award]. Wow, I’m just in awe right now. First of all, I’d like to thank God who has brought me through. I’d like to thank my family in heaven and those who are here today… Clive Davis, Barry Weiss, everyone at Arista, [my fiance David Otunga], everybody, thank you all.”

aww bless her, she did that song beautifully, i hope she is still here for years and years to come.
Kara, that happened over four months ago. What’s the appropriate time before someone can come out of hididng and try to start living again?
She looked absolutely beautiful last night. Amazing strength to do what she did. I don’t think I could have finished the song. Glad she won a Grammy as well. An Oscar and an Grammy — not bad at all. Good for you Ms. Hudson!!
nik: I don’t think I would have come out as soon as Jennifer, as I don’t think I’d have her strength — especially to have lost her Mum, Brother and nephew in such a horrific way. I would still be shut up in room. So proud that she’s back and moving forward. Good for her!
Kara: It has nothing to do with ‘Hollywood’. It has EVERYTHING to do with Jennnifer inner strength.
bengihvy gkyuy, rlf bad baD BAD bad very very very bad
Beautiful, strong, talented…..what else is there to say other than HER performance was the best of the night. Anyone who has had to endure such heartbreak and is able to face the public in the aftermath, deserves every award possible.
Her song and her performance brought me to tears. May she always continue to be blessed and I hope that she receives all the support she needs to make it through this tragedy.
Love you, Jennifer!!!!!!!
loved it, thanks for posting jj
A M A Z I N G
I like her singing but I did’nt like the dress she wore on the red carpet
oh, try not to say boring.
Jennifer was terrific! A sympathy vote? I don’t think so, JHud deserve every award, her voice is amazing, and no one in the music industry can touch her, she’s an original! Not phony, plastic, and put together by a music studio sound group. Everything is real about JHud, considering the so call music artist like Beyonce, Britney Spears, and Rihanna, which lack creativity, style, and sound.
Grammy winners don’t win judged on popularity, gold or air time it’s about the album itself.
Congrats Jen!
i thought that performance was incredible it actually gave me chills
jennifer is a very talented singer and to be able to perform so soon
after a terrible tragedy is not but the lord’s work, but for her to win a
grammy for best r&b album was i think a sympathy thing because the
album i thought it sucked.
She deserved to win.
