Katherine Heigl Leaves Grey’s Anatomy
Katherine Heigl and BFF costar T.R. Knight are hanging up their scrubs and leaving Grey’s Anatomy.
“Yes, she is [leaving],” co-star James Pickens Jr. (Dr. Richard Webber) tells Us Weekly. “Wherever Katherine goes, I wish her nothing but the best. [TR Knight's] going too. He just wanted to pursue other career paths.”
“Right now, the whole thing is in the hands of their agents and ABC’s lawyers,” an insider tells EW. “Something will probably be worked out soon, but it’s a safe bet that Katherine and T.R. won’t be returning as series regulars next season.”
WHAT DO YOU THINK of George and Izzie leaving the hit ABC medical drama — YAY or NAY?

No reason for me to watch Grey’s anymore then. Alex/Izzie were the only thing I watched for.
I have a feelings Grey’s is going to take a major ratings hit because of this.
from what i hear from gossip, Katherine Heigl is a pain in the ass to work with, so i think they just gave her that weird and terrible story line so that she would quit
That sucks! What will the show be without Izzie and George??? I can’t even imagine it. They are basically losing half of the original group of interns. That just really sucks. Well I can see where this is going now. Izzie will die and George will be heartbroken and leave. But what will happen to Alex? It is so unfair that he is going to get his heart broken again.
Maybe the show won’t be coming back next season?
They should have listened to me. Burke should have NEVER left. He should have been off camera for a while. They should have brought Hahn’s character in-but Burke and Hahn should have been partners working for Genetech-(a bioengineering lab specializing in the development of germ warfare products) plotting to take over Seattle Grace.
Meredith should have bee pregnant a long time ago with a baby that turned out to be George’s instead of Dereks!- Bailey’s husband should have been getting it on with the Chief’s wife!!! C’mon Shonda-wake up-Call me-Save Grey’s!!! Alex’s character is just a brick wall-he has issues that can’t be defined. Just make him a drug addict already-He has the signs-Izzie was a good character at first, but she was wound too tightly around Denny. Who do you know inherits millions of dollars and leaves the check on the fridge? No one. How real was that? At the most, she should have turned into a controlling, power hungry ******-TR only had chemistry with the man in the mirror. He should have played a straight guy who discovered he was gay-when do we ever see the anguish and emotional journey a man in that situation would face? Never-so if Grey’s get’s cancelled, it’s only because the writers became disconnected-ok. I have given this way too much thought right?
I think this truly marks the downfall of Grey’s Anatomy … It used to be so so good and now it’s just all about seeing how many sexual relationships the writers can write in between all the characters.
Thank GOD there’s owen hunt now!! otherwise this show will be dead soon, fast.
I hope they saved their money, I don’t see either of them getting much acting work with the “Grey’s Anatomy” connection gone. Both their characters and the show in general have become pretty unlikable to me this current season, alternately cutesy, goofy and melodramatic.
5 years is enough on any show. The show died after season 2. Might as well leave. You don’t want to be typcasted.
Actors/Actresses quiting their long serving TV show is accused as being ungrateful and full of ego? They wanted to quit and try other thing, why not? I don’t think they being ungrateful or have too big an ego to stay in show for more than 4 years. . I think being an artist and as young as Heigl would want to try other challenging role out there if there are chances and everyone knows it’s risky to be in movie bussiness because it’s mean you’re not necessarily have steady job and I think she and TR knows it too well so I salute them for being brave and taking the risk since it seems they love being an artist for more than the getting a regular pay-check for doing nothing substantial in S4 & S5 and also in a way they’re opening doors for other actor/actress the opportunity to be in the show. I say it’s unselfish of them All the BEST to KH and TR and Good Luck.
So glad she is leaving. I can’t stand her whining…. I’ll miss George though, he’s lovely.

It’s gone down hill since the end of Season 3, when Addison left, really.
It’s too bad coz it was really good to start with.

As a Alex/Izzie fan i’m sad about this news. But good luck to Katherine and T.R.
Yay ! She used to be interesting but not anymore. If she’s leaving, fine !! I won’t miss her and it’s the same with TR Knight. His character doesn’t bring anything to the show since season 4. They should have leaving earlier from the show.
