Brad Pitt wants Nazi scalps – and lots of them according to the first sneak peek of his commanding role in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film Inglourious ********.

The brief teaser clip, set to air on Entertainment Tonight Thursday, features Pitt as Lt. Aldo Raine as well as (in true Tarantino form) lots of guns and blood-and-guts action.

Shot in Germany, the film, which also stars Diane Kruger and appearances by Cloris Leachman, Mike Myers and Samuel L. Jackson, is set to premier at the Cannes Film Festival in May and be released in theaters Aug. 21.

METAIRIE — New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton and his wife, Beth, have awarded $350,000 to three non-profit organizations from the Payton’s Play It Forward Foundation they created last year.

The money, which was raised at the first Black & Gold Gala hosted by the Paytons in the Superdome in October, was distributed to organizations dedicated to improving the quality of life in New Orleans and the region.

The non-profits that received the funds were Brad Pitt’s Make it Right NOLA, Blaine Kern’s First Responders Fund and Dr. Phil McGraw’s Dr. Phil Foundation.

The inaugural Black & Gold Gala, which was co-chaired by singers Jimmy Buffett and Irma Thomas, was oversold with more than 1,200 people attending the event.

“Beth and I have proudly called New Orleans home for nearly three years,” Payton said in a statement. “Since the moment we got here, this is something we’ve wanted to do, and we are both so grateful that the first year for the foundation has been such a tremendous success.”

The next fundraiser will be the Payton’s Play It Forward Foundation Celebrity Kids Golf Tournament. Presented by the Fore!Kids Foundation, the tournament will be held at TPC Louisiana in Avondale on May 11.

Nathaniel: Malick has directed only four features in his lifetime (Badlands, Days of Heaven, The Thin Red Line and The New World) and each time we lose several critics to The Rapture when they surface. Since it made other lists besides mine, I assume you’re disciples?

JA: I got to see Badlands on a big screen last year, and that pretty much cemented the fact that I will never ever ever miss a Malick movie on a big screen ever again. I’d only seen his films on DVD before that and, while enjoying them all, it’s just not the same. So very much pretty.

And Malick’s eye (via Lubezki’s eye) trained on Pitt amongst that foliage has already got me standing at attention.

Joe: Oy. Not to in any way slight Badlands, because that movie was the absolute greatest, but The Thin Red Line was absolutely unbearable to me, and I didn’t even make it through half of The New World before shutting it off. I’m sorry, I couldn’t deal. I know this makes me middlebrow and pedestrian to say this but holy god they were just so boring. So no, this didn’t exactly make my list. I love Emmanuel Lubezki, y’all, but I can just watch Children of Men again the week this one opens.

Whitney: Malick has made my top directors list for a long time, so to find out that he’s directing a movie this year totally made my day. Really, I was telling everyone I knew that he was making a new movie and that Brad Pitt was starring. Even my mom, whose latest dip into the cinema world was Eagle Eye (”too much swearing”) and who didn’t care at all.

It will be like The Assassination of Jesse James, but with the real Malick. I wonder what thought-provoking classical music he’ll choose this time??!

Fox: I’m glad to see that The Tree of Life is shaping up to be primarily Pitt’s film and that Sean Penn simply “also appears”. I really don’t wanna see any more of that guy for a looong (three Os!!!) time. Maybe he can vacate with the Winslets for awhile?

But, unlike Joe, I was glued to The New World and casually consider it to be the best film of the 00’s. It came on and wrapped around my head for three hours (or however long it was). I get into a trance when watching Malick’s films. I think his dedication to the purest form of cinema is something we should celebrate while we still have him around.

Nathaniel: I go all hypnotized, too. But don’t get too excited about the absence of Penn, Fox. Malick loves the voiceover as much as I love a good musical number. I ain’t exaggerating! (Weird that I love Malick so much since I despise narration as a general rule???). And since Penn is credited as “adult Jack” I assume he’s one of the boys all growed up (unless his parents had a really weird sense of humor) and therefore narrating.

I’m totally curious how all the readers feel about Malick, though. Not to be terribly reductive but his visuals tend to either entrance or provide the cure for insomnia. Which is it for you out there?

A moment of celluloid reached in and gently squeezed my heart and it ached a little for the rest of the night.

My mother tells me to “live for today, because that’s all you’ve got John.” Like the mayfly that has but a single day to grow, to fly above the grass, lay eggs and dance with her mates until nightfall — she is happy as she lived a life as full as she could.

I looked out of the lounge room window. The sky is a deep violet and black velvet and the ink-coloured cloud wisps swirl and envelop the waxing moon.

Director David Fincher previously worked with Pitt on ‘Fight Club’ (a film I was not a fan of) and the gritty, excellent ‘Seven’ and this film is a change of tact for him.

It is like watching a fairytale and like so many classic stories, at its heart is a love story. However, this is an unusual take on romance as Benjamin and Daisy only ‘meet in the middle’, age and looks wise, for a short period.

Benjamin Button is a dream role for Pitt as he gets to convey extraordinary physical and emotional changes and he gives a fabulous display. There is no grandstand acting here as he plays it low-key and makes for a very endearing character.

Blanchett also gives an excellent performance as Daisy. Even when Benjamin is a lot ‘older’ than her, you never doubt Daisy’s love for him and the scene where she dances on a moonlit porch is simply beautiful.

The ‘age gimmick’ undoubtedly brings something different to what could’ve been a simple, predictable story and the film is a little too long at two hours, 35 minutes, but these are minor quibbles.

‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ deserves every one of its 13 Oscar nominations and is a film with many images that you will never forget.

It will make you laugh, cry, stare in wonder and believe that a man can age backwards.

Along with many Americans, Angelina Jolie herself is said to be ”totally creeped out” by Nadya Suleman, the now-infamous mother of six who just gave birth to octuplets — all thanks to artificial insemination.

Though Suleman categorically denies she’s undergone any plastic surgery to make her look like Jolie, neighbors, friends and family members of the unemployed single mom of 14 challenge those denials — as do earlier photographs of Suleman clearly indicating thinner lips and a different-looking nose.

”At least she wasn’t a total crazy … like the stalkers who try to actually meet Angelina and follow along with the paparazzi,” added the source, who also said, ”It is clear this woman needs psychological help. Totally agree. If you want to go to FF, DListed, Celeb, Pop, whatever, just do it but please don’t come back here to rant. If we want to know about those dumb sh’it lies or comments, we could go look them up ourselves. The same thing goes for what stupid entertainment shows say. It’s not that I don’t want to hear critics of the JPs. I just don’t want to hear lies. Well i just saw the first five minutes of the View just so i can see what they were gonna say about the whole Michael Douglas situation…Meredith read the quote straight from the mag (so now everyone has proof that its not gossip or made up!) and she asked “Is he being nasty or just telling the truth?”…to which Star replied “both” and when she said that there were a few (and i do mean few people because they put the camera in the audience and it was like five or six middle aged women) clapping at that statement (bunch of idiots for actually believing the “triangle” crap!)…Joy (who i believe was the only one defending Brad and Angie) said “why would you(the audience) believe that..Meridith interjected and said “because probably a lot of people feel bad for Jennifer Aniston”, and Elizabeth of course agreed (oh my god, im in shock!!LOL), and Joy said thats stupid because “the other one(meaning Angie) is beautiful too”, Meridith said “of course” and Elizabeth was saying “Who? Jeniffer Aniston, and Joy and Meredith said “Angie” and the Elizabeth (with a half a** smile on her face) says “yeah just a little, she’s cute”, and they pretty much discussed it for like a minute and said that MD has always been controversial (they pointed out to a few movies that he has done that have been “controversial”)…so that was the View…

However, even though they discussed the tpic for like a minute or so, i am still emailing BW about Elizabeth and her stupid little comments because im on a crusade to get that woman off the show, i cant stand her and her remarks quite honestly are straight out of junior high.

Sometimes I think Brad is so happy and contented with his family, he just decides to throw the idiots a bone. I remembered how livid I was when he made the recent statement “calling X “a sweetheart”, after she had said all those things about Angie in the GQ interview. But when I read the entire article, I was able to better understand, and put things in perspective. What he is consistent with, is when he has moved on, he is gone.

In other words - Bart has his own agenda to maintain. Even if he’s writing a piece for VF, he’s still got his bosses at Variety to satisfy. Hence his dumping all over the WGA in the same article. The studios are STILL pissed about that strike. Talk about holding a grudge…

Sometimes I wonder.. is it always about agendas and not simply human weakness? There is a maxim about conspiracies and agendas and it goes like this, “Never attribute to conspiracy (or agenda) when human failure is a more likely cause”. I am sure even the brightest of these people are prone to group think, jealousy, fear of ridicule (question; are you more likely to be ridiculed for praising Jolie or for slamming her?). You don’t have to be courageous or altruistic to be full of your self or to to attack a controversial celebrity.

Many of you know of my severe hatred and loathing for Titanic. For inflicting that piece of shite on the world, Kate Winslet, as far as I’m concerned, need never work again. I’m still shaking my head that she got an Oscar nomination for that crap.

PT, I just saw this post and I very much agree. I loathed Titanic and I had so been looking forward to it. It was simply a bad movie. I also didn’t think much of Kate’s performance either. In fact, I thought she was the weakest of almost all the actors. Even Leo was better. That is one of the Oscar nominations she most definitely did not deserve. And this lame movie beat one of the all time great films - LA Confidential.

I came here to gloat about Brad and his new movie, Inglorious ********, because I was sure that I would find other great minded people here on JJ and I was right!

I am loving the comments full of positive reviews for Brad. I really have to skim over those numb minded bloggers who write all this carp about the Jolie Pitts as if they are experts in film, or like they even have a life!! People who are picking on Brad’s southern drawl, need to spend some time in the south. Obviously they are so jealous about Mr. Brad Pitt and his personal love of his life, they have to critic his acting. Hello?? I mean he’s obviously up for all these awards for a reason, a nomination is a very high honor. Silly Harpies they just don’t quit. And that crzay woman trying to be like Angelina!! Ok, I agree that Nadya Suleman obviously has something missing in her life or herself, that made her want to bring 14 children into the world when she doesn’t have the means to support them or a partner to help her. I think it was selfish on her part and those precious kids may end up paying the price. And she can deny it all she wants but it’s obvious that she wants to look and be like Angelina, and that she had plastic surgery to do so. I agree with all that. But, so she doesn’t have Brad as the father? Well, none of us do. If he was a requirement to have a lot of children, Angelina would be the only woman with children. If we had to be rich or acclaimed to be like Angelina, then the majority of people wouldn’t have kids. A lot of people are INSPIRED by Angelina so they might want a big family like she does. Nadya Suleman isn’t the only one. It doesn’t make them stalkers. And if all there is to go on is this tab story saying it, I don’t believe Nadya is stalking Angie. And are all mothers of multiples who have extra fat and skin left over after giving birth “sights of horror” too? Like I said, I agree that Nadya Suleman seems to be missing something, I don’t know what because I don’t know much about her. None of us do. But come on now, nobody deserves to be insulted like that and she doesn’t either. Sight of horror?

Blu-ray Review: Changeling

Angelina Jolie is at her best since her underrated performance in A Mighty Heart, playing Christine Collins. After her son turns up missing from her home, the corrupt 1920s Los Angeles Police Department find a child, but it’s not hers. Despite Collins’ certainty that this boy is not her own, the police write her off as crazy, fearing negative publicity.

Her struggle makes for outstanding cinema, with Jolie at the center. Her performance is gut-wrenching, at times hard to watch in a positive way. It’s impossible not to get behind her cause 100%, even as she lashes out at the wrong people. It’s also hard to believe this could happen to anyone, especially to this degree, but a script by J. Michael Stracyznski always pulls you into the story.

Eastwood’s direction is, as always, superb. Pacing is excellent despite the film nearing the 150-minute mark. No scenes are wasted, and the opening 20 minutes are mesmerizing as the saga begins to unfold. A fantastic supporting cast is filled with characters who serve their purpose, including a fine performance from John Malkovich as one of the few people who stand up for Collins.

Every moment of Changeling makes for top tier drama. If there was ever a woman who deserved this type of star treatment, it was Christine Collins, and Eastwood delivers a film worthy of her cause. Whether you’re a fan of Eastwood’s work or not, Changeling is still a film worthy of your time.

So what are they gonna do some Oscar Interviews with Oprah Or Babs? It would be fun to see them to some kind of sit down round table interview together. Ratings bananza!!!!
