Zhang Ziyi: Berlin Film Festival Fun
Zhang Ziyi attends the premiere for her latest film, Forever Enthralled, during the 2009 Berlin Film Festival at the Grand Hyatt Hotel on Tuesday (February 10) in Berlin, Germany.
According to Reuters, Forever Enthralled plays homage to Mei Lanfang, one of the country’s most celebrated exponents of Peking Opera, a traditional Chinese performance art that includes mime, dance, gender-swapping and a shrill, nasal singing style.
Zhang said Mei’s life showed how important liberty was. “Freedom is the most powerful thing in life,” she said. “Sometimes people keep an eye on you, but I still think we have to try as much as we can to keep (our) freedom.”

I like Zhang’s work, but a movie on Peking Opera? Peking Opera may be hard to listen to but it’s different. Hopefully the story of Mei’s life is interesting. I will give it a chance. Zhang is gorgeous though.
