Orlando was so cute, declaring his love for Miranda on live television. But it was the Victorian bushfires that the telethon was for, not the South Australian (entirely different state).

They were helping with a great cause.
I would like to remind my fellow Americans that many Aussies helped us when we were hit with Katrina, Rita, Ike, etc. Please give back, and donate to the relief fund. I did.
And yes, what he said about Miranda on the show was incredibly sweet. And it had the added bonus of shutting up some of the haters.:)

i think it is great what they are doing to help. it shows that they are both caring people. pictures do not always tell the whole story. maybe they were both thinking about the fire and were preoccupied with that. why do so many people have a problem with the two of them as a couple. i don’t think they look emotionally disconnected. some people sure have a problem with these two as a couple which i don’t understand.

The only thing he said about her in that interview was that he was there to visit his girlfriend (her) on V-day and that he loved Australia AS did she. Not that he loved australia and her or because of her.

As an Australian, the bushfire tragedy is overwhelming. I cannot believe that a tragedy of such magnitude happened partly because of some dastardly creatures.. Just wrong.. I am thankful that people like Orlando are doing their bit to help.. The people in Victoria and South Australia can definitely use it.

They seemed really in love at the telethon last night, its so fantastic to see both of them give up their time and volunteer to help all those people devastated by the fires. I think they’re a gorgeous couple and Miranda is just a natural beauty. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban donated $500,000 which is amazing. 7,000 people are homeless and 180 people dead, its so amazing to see Australia pull together like this and donating so much, especially with the economy the way it is.

And JJ you are so wrong. In this photos they are not going “hand in hand”. No, his hand is in the pocket, and she is holding his elbow. It is just not the same. Hand in hand is closer touch. It is walking with showing affection at the same time. You are not walking with your coworker or lawyer hand in hand. But, with both you can walk like MK and OB are walking on this photos. The way they are actually walking is formal and polite walking showing no emotions. There is no emotional, or spiritual, or call it any name connection among them in this photos. Do not ignore body language. Sometimes, and I am sure all of us has own experience in that field, it is more important what our partner actually DO than what he ( or she) SAY. It is easier to say, than to do.
And BTW do anyone know how much money OB and MK, as they are both very rich people, personally donate for the fire victims or red cross ? Or they just support? With words? Did they just SAY or did they DO?!

It really doesn’t matter what YOU interpret from a photograph. We have the proof on tape, that he said that she has his heart in his hands. I’ll trust that, I believe. It’s not like these pics were taken over a romantic dinner, they are walking through an airport, on their way to help out with the telethon. I guess that you think that they should be acting like they are on their way to their honeymoon, and not somplace sad.
And as far as the money they donated, I’m sure that they both did. The difference is that they aren’t waving the dollar amount around in people’s faces saying “look what I did”. Instead they are also giving their time, which is much more personal and meaningful than simply mailing in a check.

however you are not of a sound mind. Some people are not able to control their emotions as well as others. Usually Orlando is able to control his emotions very well, but not in this case.

And he didn’t repeat the same thing over and over, as if he was in shock, he was answering questions, and talking about his feelings. He sounded moved by the current tragedy, but was still his bubbly self when not directly addressing the disaster.

HE DID NOT HAVE TO SAY THAT HE LOVED HER. HE COULD HAVE LEFT IT AT “GIRLFRIEND”, BUT HE SAID MORE. EVEN IF HE WAS UPSET, HE DID NOT HAVE TO SAY THAT HE LOVED HER. BUT HE DID, IN TWO, COUNT THEM, TWO SEPERATE INTERVIEWS. EVEN WITH HER SITTING TWO INCHES FROM HIM, HE DID NOT HAVE TO SAY WHAT HE DID.

Well, congratulations young lady for doing a great job at the telethon.

Hmmm, I usually don’t believe ANY insiders, but this one has me thinking.
It would explain why Orlando went to against type by proclaiming on national television that Miranda has his heart. In the past, he would never say anything like that. He barely acknowledged Kate to the media, even after four years. But here he is now, telling the press that he is in love. Hmmmm. Something is definitely different. It’s almost like he was paving the way for a bigger announcement.
And it really doesn’t matter if they have both said that they aren’t engaged. Celebs are forced to lie quite often to protect their private lives from prying questions. Just think of all of the female celebs who have flat out said that they are not pregnant, only to reveal that they are, one month later, and that the baby is due in four months. Sure, they told a lie, but it was in answer to a personal question that should never have been asked. I wouldn’t blame Orlando and Miranda for lying, if they are engaged. They were protecting themselves. If they had said ‘no comment’, they would have been hounded constantly. And if they said yes, they would not have been able to tell their family and friends in the way that they wanted. This kind of little-white-lie is a quite common method of protection.
We will have to wait and see. But i have been a fan for a long time, and I have never seen Orlando so revealing. It’s quite interesting if you ask me.

Who cares anymore? There are so many other people, things and events going on in the world that far outweigh the importance of these two individuals. If they’re happy together, good for them. They are a couple but I think they wont last that long, from what I have seen is that they have been dating for almost a year now but that doesn’t mean they are soul mates or will be happy together forever. I think they are just having fun with each other while they can. I’m sure one day they will find other people that are very important and will understand and love them for who they are. I just don’t take them serious as a couple or a long lasting relationship.

I’m sure she one day will find a man that will want to settle down with her and she can be a housewife and live on a farmhouse in the country and I think one day that he will find a woman that will want to keep working and have a career of her own so she doesn’t have to sit around and take care of him all day.

I haven’t even taken the time to read this thread, because I don’t really care what people are saying about them. What I, and the rest of his friends, care about is what is happening to him. He tells his friends that she is just a causal and convinent fling. But he is getting in deeper and deeper. He still swears it isn’t serious, but she has alienated many of his friends and even family. In fact I don’t think his mom and him are even talking now. We all think it may be some kind of contract that he cannot disclose, or she has some hold on him. We all tell him, to cut her loose, and he agrees with us, and seems ready to dump her, and then he does some stupid ass stunt like OZ. He deserves better, he is better, and I hope that he gets his act together.

I have one British friend with whom I correspond, and she often uses the term y’all. When I first asked her about it, she said that it has become part of her internet vernacular, even though she doesn’t use it in “real life”.

Maybe Samantha did not want to embarrass her brother by showing her true feelings….Same thing with Orlando……why did it take an catastrophic event for him to “proclaim his love” for her….he had a dozen of chances before…..He is not about to embarrass her and not even acknowledge her especially if she had family who was affected by the fires in Australia…..of course he’s going to at least say that she is his girlfriend…..but it’s not like he walked right up to her on live tv and handed her an engagement ring now did he….

Yeah that could be true. A lot of people try to like their siblings partner to please their sibling. They want them to be happy but that doesn’t mean they have to love he girl too. Miranda also talks about retiring in a few year, so in a few years she will be around 30 and the David Jones and Victoria Secret thing should be done by then.

But then didn’t Orlando say he wanted to be with a woman that was still working and not just sitting around all day taking care of him. Miranda says she wants to be a housewife in the country so I don’t see how that’s going to work. Even if none of the family members or friends were his, it still can trigger memories of loved ones you have lost, or traumatic events that happened in your life. For example, losing your dad when you are only a small child, then finding out later on that your real dad is really alive. Did that not unfortunately happen to Orlando before. Everyone deals with things differently. He may have been overwhelmed with emotions.

The only one who knows for certain is him, not you or me!

Tragic. They just took it down. Any Viggo fans out there? I’ll summarize it for you because this was one of the best interviews I’ve seen.

When asked about how he would have handled fame in his twenties, Viggo said he probably would not have liked it but would have accepted it and just gotten on with the job at hand. He felt better prepared for it when LOTR came out but still found it uncomfortable. (I get the distinct impression that this is not a man who seeks the spotlight or attention outside of his artistic work.) He makes no distinction as an artist between acting, painting, writing, etc. He’s says they’re all the same to him. He appreciates his fans from around the world but does sometimes feel uncomfortable when he sees the same familiar faces showing up at various premiers, book signings, etc. He feels that some of his fans assume that he speaks ONLY to them at public functions or events when he is in fact speaking to ALL of them. I have reached the sad conclusion that Orlando is a man who values attention, in all its forms, over the acting craft. Viggo, on the other hand, seems to be a man who shuns attention and values his various art forms and craft abilities over being a celebrity.

Of course common sense would tell you that OF COURSE Gisele didn’t see 40 million. The money would have gone through her accountant and/or manager first. They distribute the money to pay her bills and employees. Her manager gets at least 10% probably 15%, and the same goes to her agent. Then they pay her publicists, lawyers, accountants, taxes, bills, insurance, etc. By the time Gisele sees it, it is probably cut in half. So, no. She didn’t SEE 40 million, but she sure EARNED it, which is what the Forbes list was ranking. But again. What does Forbes know about money?
