Debra Messing: Starter Wife Canceled!
AIN’T MESSING AROUND
Debra Messing’s miniseries-turned-TV-series, The Starter Wife, has been canceled!
USA Network tells EW that Starter Wife was a “critical and creative success,” pulling in just an average of 2.4 million viewers each week. The network added that the Dec. 12 season finale served as a “satisfying conclusion” to the franchise.
WHAT DO YOU THINK of The Starter Wife’s cancellation? What kind of work would you want to see Debra Messing in next??

I am in total shock and terribly disappointed. Finally a good show which kept me wanting more. I was waiting to hear when the next season would start not ready to hear it canceling. USA got average viewers with mediocre advertising and time slot, this would have been more of a hit if they had played their cards right. I wish another channel would pick up the show, they would surely benefit from all the viewers that would happily leave USA now this show isn’t on their channel there is no reason for me to watch it any more. good bye USA, hello Lifetime, Bravo maybe.
This was the only show that I tuned into every week (for the short amount of weeks that it was on air each of the seasons). What a shame. I’m going to figure out what network cancelled such a talent and move on to another network. Dumb choice from a consumer point of view. I loved the zany plots. It was an interesting diversion from boring television. Shame on the network! Please your consumers…that’s the name of the game. Otherwise, they shut your network off.
That sucks! I loved that show and Debra. I really had looked foward to another season. I’m really dissapointed in USA Network for cancelling the show.
I still miss the Starter Wife. I was hoping that USA network would have seen the error of their ways and bring the series back. Messing is refreshing and fun in these dreary times. Molly and Joan stole the show but it was all enjoyable entertainment.
