OlderGerard Butler: Fashion Week Friendly
Gerard Butler came out to support the annual Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection show held during NY Fashion Week at The Tent in Bryant Park on Friday (February 13).
Of course, the 39-year-old Scottish star sat front row, where I ran into him. I also got to speak with Project Runway’s Christian Siriano and his boyfriend Brad Walsh. Christian had designed one of the dresses for the show. Touched By An Angel’s Valerie Bertinelli wore one of his creations.
How did this all happen? I got the chance to experience Fashion Week the American Express way; they gave me two tickets to check out this great event. Afterwards, I stopped by their swanky Cardmember Only Skybox, where Cardmembers were watching the show from there. What a morning!

Finally a pic of Jared. I’ve always wondered what he looks like.
Jared, all Gerrry fans love you and your photos of him. You always seem respectful of him and capture him in the best way. Thank you so very much for all your hard work. Gerry seems to respect you as well, so, please, keep snapping pics of him at EVERY opportunity and passing them on to those of us who love him.

The reason he keeps his personal life personal, is because it is
PERSONAL. He is a nice Scottish boy that has been brought up right and doesn’t discuss his life with anyone, especially strangers.
It’s kind of like, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.”
Some day, when he is READY to make the proper committment to some DECENT lady of his choice, the world will know. But right now
he says it is time for him to “Make hay”, and he is correct. Always strike while the iron is hot, sometimes in this business it doesn’t stay hot for very long, so he needs to “do his thing” while the time is right.
He can make a really good, secure future for his life choice later.
Go Gerry, enjoy all that life has to offer while it is available. Don’t waste a single moment.
The rest of you, God knows what is in the man’s heart, and HE is the only one Gerry needs be responsible to.
I just hope that none of his ‘advisors’ are telling him he can’t have a real relationship because his fan base would go crazy. They (some fans) go back a long time and believe they own him, to say the least. Some of them might self-destruct, but his real fans just want him to be happy and go on making movies we can love. He may be the king of the internet nuts, but most true fans want to see him be successful in all he does. ‘Tales of the Black Freighter’ looks amazing. I hope it outdoes Watchmen. GB is just the most amazing actor ever.
Why are some people so eager to see him in a relationship whenever he is pictured with a woman within 10 feet range? Would it destroy their fantasy about his beautiful soul if they had to face the fact that he might be someone who prefers to sleep around instead of committing to one person? To each their own. As long as he is up front with the women, where is the problem? Some people are just not made for the “till death do us part” thing.
I don’t believe he is someone who would hide away a steady girlfriend because of his fans. Some fans might be nuts but a lot of hunky actors have crazy fans AND girlfriends/wives. There might be a shock moment for some but I think the majority would wish him well. I think if he hides the women he dates it’s because they’re more like friends with benefits and nothing he is serious about. I tend to agree with Sandy, if he is ever ready to settle down, he will present “the one” to the world and not hide her.
I agree with Pafan and me. Let the man have a personal life like a normal guy. No wonder he keeps his private life private - look what happened when he got caught kissing that woman at the arcade. The way his obsessive, possessive fans scoured the net looking for every scrap of info they could find on his date, I’m surprised the world wide web didn’t just melt down and sef-destruct in a puff of smoke.
Gerry’s true fans just want him to be happy and keep doing the excellent work that he does. If and when he chooses to be with someone, here’s hoping it’s somebody wonderful.
I rather doubt many would be surprised Gerry prefers sleeping around than being with any one woman these days. I also agree if he were to fall in love and settle down he’d not hide her. Actually if that time ever comes he’d care little of any fallout or “shock moment” as love changes everything and cures all phobias. Besides he owes nothing to his fans but his best in film. As for… “I think if he hides the women he dates it’s because they’re more like friends with benefits and nothing he is serious about.” Ouch! I hope ANY women being hid by the hunky beautiful soul as a friend with a benefit, however open and upfront he is, agreeing to be a sign post, not a destination, doesn’t read this. How would they feel? How would you if it were reversed? Just a thought.

I think people are missing the obvious. It’s the type of women he picks that drives everybody into a frenzy. People didn’t seem as crazy derranged when it was rumored to be Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston. As long as he picks women like that, people will grumble, but they don’t go all crazy like they did when he was rumored to be with Naomi Campbell. People always assume that the model types are window dressing and aren’t worthy of serious relationships, and therefore he can’t be serious about them. Maybe he just picks women who feel the same way about relationships as he does. There are women who don’t want their name and their whole life smeared all over the web. I wouldn’t . I know plenty of women who feel private and protective of their love life. He can conduct a relationship under the radar with out the women feeling all rejected and hurt.
And btw, almost all A list stars are in or have been in serious relationships while making movies. That’s no excuse to be single. Gerry doesn’t work more or harder than anyone else. So why would his sudden and busy schedule keep him for having a love life? That’s a lame excuse.
If a woman agrees to a friends with benefits relationship under the radar she knows exactly what she’s in for. If you can’t handle it, don’t do it. Simple as that.
I can’t imagine any woman in her right mind, no matter how private she is, would agree to being hidden away and DENIED in public. That’s the point. Many celebrities have relationships without the women’s names and lifes smeared over the web. If that happens or not depends very much on how you conduct the relationship. So saying you need to be hidden away for privacy is ridiculous.
Gerard Butler does not have to and probably would not conform to anything. In my opinion, the man does exactly what he wants to do, when he wants to. I think he enjoys different partners and at this time is happy to live his life that way. If Gerard decides to settle down with someone, then good luck to him. I feel at this time he is not ready for that and maybe, he never will be. Who knows?
I don’t think he gets around as much as we think he does. I’ve been in the same room as the guy, and frankly, he’s not that smooth. He’s goofy in that dumb high school jock kind of way. Not a stud in the real sense and not trying to pick anybody up either. There were enough nobody fan girls throwing themselves at him, and he didn’t take the bait. He just kept moving around and making stupid jokes with his friends. But maybe he doesn’t like LA girls. One things for certain, once he does sleep around stuff will get out about him like Colin Farrell and everyone will know all his business.
Pellegrino - I agree with you. I’ve never met him or been in the same room, but I bet he is still really immature. Kinda weird for almost a 40 yr. old. I think all these models types that we think he goes for maybe are more for image than anything.
I should have said I agree to point. I don’t know any woman that would stand by and let a boyfriend act like she doesn’t exist. Fact probably is, and by his own admission, he is too immature to be in a relationship, and not that he is too bus for one.
I wonder what happened to his dog?
Anyone who knows my good soul knows I’m no one to judge anyone for being assertive enough through kindness, equality, mutual respect, diplomacy, openness and generosity between consenting adults to get their needs met.

pellegrino, so you’ve met him in a room full of fangirls? No wonder he didn’t pick up any of them. No celebrity would do that.
I think the reason why stuff about him doesn’t get out that much is basically because he still isn’t such a big celebrity yet. I’m sure he can still do a lot of things under the radar. It’s not that the paparazzi are camping at his front door.

# 68 I’m pretty sure that all the girls Gerry hooked with probably knew who he was if they were fangirls or at least asked his name and what he did if they didn’t know who he was. As if that were true. I mean HELLO? This is LA! LOL! How you gonna be a fangirl if you didn’t know him? And trust, everyone in LA knows who any someone is. A lot of the girls go to these places because they are starf/ckers. They make it their business to know.
wow…so much advice for the guy…sheesh…Maybe some people ought to look into their own relationships…I’m happy for Gerry either way..If he’s to stay single..so be it..if he finds someone ..so be it…Who friggin cares? I just like watching his movies…Have fun Gerry..if I were in his shoes..I would too..
