Angelina Jolie is North Face Fierce
Angelina Jolie keeps warm in a long bubble coat, the North Face Triple C Jacket, while leaving a New York City building late Thursday night (February 19).
The 33-year-old actress had just completed a camera test for her upcoming espionage flick, SALT. On Monday, she visited an apartment building on the Upper West Side that will serve as a production location.
Other pictures include Brad Pitt on Thursday leaving the Hard Rock Hotel And Casino and heading over to the MGM Grand Casino to pick up two of his sons, Maddox and Pax.

Just an aside - EW (and a lot of movie blogs) reported Angie was getting $15MIL PLUS a backend percentage not either/or. It’s typically what the men get - it’s what Brad’s getting for IB ($20MIL+ backend). Meryl Streep is also getting the same on her upcoming summer movie Julie & Julia. Not the $15MIL salary, but salary+backend. I saw that in an EW story about her when Doubt came out. They didn’t say how much her salary was, but she talked about how she insisted on getting the backend in addition to her salary because her last 2 summer movies grossed close to $1BIL.
So damn beautiful. :D I’m glad she’s working again even though I know family always comes first, I can’t help but wish for more Angie movies. I love watching her on the big screen.

The fantastical drama had three strong, first-place starts in Italy ($3.9 million), South Korea ($2.2 million) and Taiwan ($907,443) and was average in its other Southeast Asian debuts. Holdovers were sturdy as well, including the United Kingdom (off just 20 percent), France (off 24 percent) and Japan (off 12 percent). Benjamin Button also marks lead actor Brad Pitt’s 11th picture to cross the $100 million mark overseas.

X does not had any star power outside North America. particularly in non-english speaking countries which is fast becoming one of the major market for Hollywood.
Benjamin Button open no.1 in our country, X ensemble movie open a far 2 while the Dog movie was a flop opening at no.5. The amazing part was the total gross of X recent 2 films were only half of what TCCOBB make in the opening 3 days.
X last film TBU was straight to DVD in several major Asian market including Korea and Japan. I think her dog movie would probably have the same fate. I think one of the reason why X agree whoring herself to Oscar , althought , she knew she will be looking like a clown with her boytoy is the lucrative global market, Oscar will be telecast live to 26 countries all over the world, it’s one of the major event of the global entertainment news,her dog movie will start expanding to major worldwide market this coming March. it had already open in some smaller market and was not doing good. They left yesterday. He didn’t spend the night with the boys. They were secure at the MGM while daddy was playing poker and having fun with the girls at the Randy’s G. place. He went back to the Hard Rock around 6am and then went to pick up the boys and left Vegas

I’ll have whatever Clint Eastwood’s having because, whatever it is, it’s clearly biological rocket-fuel.
The man hasn’t put a foot wrong in years, either as a director, composer or actor. His films are taut, economical and keen-edged. And, lucky us, this year we get the one-two punch of Changeling and Gran Torino
Jolie continues to impress away from her glamazon roles. Here she channels the humanity of her performance in A Mighty Heart and boils it down to capture a mother who only wants to find her son. She stammers and mumbles and is far mousier than we have ever seen her.
Indeed, it’s startling to be reminded that she is the Angelina Jolie when we get occasional shots of her luminous eyes.
Good as Jolie is, it’s Jason Butler Harner who turns in the film’s standout performance as the serial killer. He is a smarmy, weasely man who draws shudders from the audience whenever he is on screen.
Changeling is a disturbing but rewarding film that deserves the Oscar-buzz surounding it.
If you liked … Mystic River or A Mighty Heart … you’ll enjoy this.

You announce production on your epic, epic, epic film and promise a premiere less than twelve months later at the world’s greatest film festival; you cut and release a truly brilliant, if slightly misdirecting, teaser trailer while the film is still in production; and then you unveil three of the best teaser posters in living memory to further encourage the kind of fervor your film actually, truly deserves.
Empire today premiered the first three posters for Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious ******** and, like that teaser trailer, they seem to be focusing on certain elements of the plot at the exclusion of others - others that, actually, take precedence for much of the film. I’ve got one of the images after the break as well as some extra information.
I really want to know when the promotional materials for Inglourious ******** are going to give away the full scope of the film and let people see the other side of what the movie entails. I hope it’s sooner rather than later because, well, the film you’re getting isn’t just the film you see in these posters and the trailer - it’s much bigger, smarter, more ambitious and less predictable - and I’d think people are possibly building up the wrong idea in their heads. Then again, that might make the finished movie all the more surprising for them and this might be why Tarantino’s happy with the marketing.
Apart from slowly stirring the script for over a decade before hand, every move Tarantino has made with his crew of ******** has pleased me all over - and I know I shouldn’t really be complaining about his scripting schedule either, I’m just impatient. For me, not even Steven Soderbergh and Woody Allen make films often enough (and okay, Takashi Miike has the quick turnaround down, but I’m not sure his standards are always as high as they should be).

Hugh Jackman on Hosting Oscars: ‘A Night of Celebration’
Actor Talks to Barbara Walters for Annual Oscar Special
Watch the Oscar edition of “The Barbara Walters Special,” Sunday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. ET and after the Oscar broadcast on the West Coast.
The 40-year-old actor, who was named People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” last year, will next be seen onscreen in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” this summer. He says that while he likes singing and dancing, his favorite thing to do is act, and he told Walters that he sees all the Oscar-nominated movies each year.
“I love the Oscars. I’ve loved it since I was a kid,” he said.
Hosting the ceremony is “a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, literally it may be once,” he said, laughing.
Asked if there were any stars he’s looking forward to seeing on Oscar night, Jackman said he pictures Jack Nicholson sitting in the front row.
“I don’t know if he’s going to be there, [but] I visualize Jack Nicholson … hopefully smiling, but you never know,” he said, laughing.
He also said he’s never met best actor nominee Brad Pitt.
“I’m pretty sure I’ll be getting to meet [Pitt],” he said. “I’ve never met Angelina, either. But I’m not allowed to say that or my wife will kill me, but I’d love to meet her.”
Jackman met his wife, actress Deborah-Lee Furness, on the set of the Australian drama “Corelli.” At the time, she was a big star Down Under and he was an unknown, but he says his increasing fame hasn’t hurt their relationship.
“I want to make it really clear, there is not an ounce of jealousy,” he said. “There is not an ounce of competitiveness between us. Deb has only ever had incredibly supportive, excited, sort of, feelings, for anything that’s happened in my career.”
He called their marriage “a mad love affair.”
“I’m madly in love with her … more and more each day,” he said.

to “gotta love Jolie” - thanks for the link to that great article! that hits the nail on the head. i don’t gush about her acting as much as the author but i think she’s a great role model for women, especially working mothers. i am not a movie buff but she crossed my radar when she adopted maddox. she embodies the best in human nature and yet is no goody two-shoes - she is strong, strong strong! it’s great for girls and women to see an icon like that instead of the often weak images that celebrity women (and fashion models) project.

TGIF Jolie Pitt fans. Angelina fits right in with NY style she is slender and looks fabulous in Northface. But glad to see you’re so excited with the 7-8 exclamation points image - I personally, as a fan, will NEVER get that excited about Angelina’s coming abuse in the media based on the lies they will tell about her in the media and tabloid media — especially when I know that as usual she will be gracious, grown-up, classy and adult. It actually makes me sick to my stomach, and sometimes I even start resenting Brad - it’s all the dishonesty surrounding their initial breakup and the media manipulation he allowed her to get away with, that has made people tolerate this circus. If Brad had said way back in the day - Aniston and I don’t talk, she was not nice and dishonest and is obviously only interested in demonizing me and Angelina so that the troops will rally around her to sustain her career. But everyone (but Angelina as usual) was being phoney, Brad didn’t address the disgust he felt with the Vanity Fair piece and even after he excused her first comment (it was dragged out of her) he never said ‘boo,’ about the ‘consider the source,’ snipe she was allowed to get away with.
If he had, I very much doubt the Academy would have extended an invitation knowing that all of this bad blood was still apparent between it’s two honored nominees and someone they just wanted to invite to present. They would have been soundly criticized. They wouldn’t have done it - and we wouldn’t be discussing this now.
But as usual, people have short memories - and with regards to Maniston, no shame apparently.

Thanks a million JJ for this scoop. I bet this will be a killer movie similar to the Bourne trilogy and Angie is great in action movies. I get a kick out of the haters creating all sorts of stories before Oscar night. They are probably not even attending the pre-Oscar party, they did not last year. Then, they are not walking the RC either but will go directly to their seats, on Sunday. This will be my guess. There is a rain forecast on Sunday night. RC starts at 3 pm and ceremony starts at 5. NEW YORK – Not On Our Watch, the international advocacy and aid organization founded by actors George Clooney, Don Cheadle, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, producer Jerry Weintraub, and human rights lawyer David Pressman, today announced grants totalling $500,000 to programmes reaching tens of thousands of vulnerable citizens living in Myanmar.
“Having just returned from the region, I’ve seen the incredible hardships faced by men, women, and children as they fight to survive. Basic services including clean water, food, and medical care are in short supply for many of the country’s most vulnerable,” said Not On Our Watch co-founder Brad Pitt. “Survival in times like these continues to be against the odds. We are proud to support the work of organizations including WFP that combat these problems, and we remain hopeful that the international community will take a lead in addressing their causes in the long term.”
Through a grant of $250,000 to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), Not On Our Watch funds will help feed 40,000 small-scale farmers and their family members in Myanmar’s Northern Rakhine State, one of several recently identified “hunger hotspots” across the country. Several hundred thousand people are without adequate access to food supplies or the means to pay for food for their families in these areas.
Not On Our Watch will grant the remaining $250,000 to several organizations working to provide refugees along the Thailand-Myanmar border with emergency health care, medical supplies, and basic education.
“Not On Our Watch is stepping in to support our work where help is needed most,” said Nancy Roman, Director of Public Policy, Communications and Private Partnerships at WFP. WFP’s operations in Myanmar are currently facing a funding shortfall of US$16 million.
“We are saving lives and changing lives. We help villagers get fresh drinking water for the first time ever. And we make sure they get food in the lean season before the harvest comes,” added Roman.
Not On Our Watch has been a strong supporter of WFP’s efforts to feed the world’s hungry, providing US$1.5 million in the past two years to support WFP’s humanitarian air service in Darfur, Sudan.
The WFP funds will go to “Friends of WFP”, a US-based charity and fundraising arm of the international humanitarian agency. The organisation’s President and CEO, Karen Sendelback, thanked Not On Our Watch.
“Thanks to Not On Our Watch, thousands of people in Myanmar will not only be able to feed their families, but they will also have the opportunity to learn vital work skills and help rebuild their communities.”

There’s an old saying down in my hometown of New Orleans about how to tell the changing of the seasons. I’m not referring to winter, spring, summer or fall, but rather to the aroma of what someone’s cooking up fresh and delicious.
Shrimp, oysters, crabs, crayfish — those are our seasons. It’s all a cycle, and before we enter the Lenten season, we gather together to celebrate Mardi Gras.
The parades that began earlier this month won’t end until late Fat Tuesday, February 24. This Sunday most of us will come home soon after the Bacchus float rolls down Canal Street, to watch the 81st annual Oscars and root for “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.”
“Benjamin Button” is about transformation and renewal, and one of the film’s key characters is New Orleans. Filmed in some of my hometown’s most cherished neighborhoods and historic sites — the Garden and Warehouse districts, the French Quarter, Uptown and the shores of Lake Pontchartrain — the diversity, spirit and special grace that imbibe the culture of New Orleans also enrich and inform the film.
While we celebrate the film’s 13 Oscar nominations, we should also celebrate its contribution to the rebirth of New Orleans and the surrounding Gulf Coast.
Based on a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, who chose Baltimore, Maryland, as its locale, the film version of “Benjamin Button” was instead set in New Orleans by Paramount Pictures. Almost four years after Katrina, one of the most destructive and powerful hurricanes to hit our nation’s shores, the movie has ushered in a reawakening and refocusing on New Orleans that will help this treasured city move past the tragedy that almost destroyed it.
Like New Orleans itself, Benjamin Button was born old. Literally. Just as New Orleans is loved and revered for its rich and unconventional cultural characteristics, the tragedy of Katrina has allowed a quixotic renewal — a rebirth, if you will — of New Orleans’ physical structure while maintaining a reverence for its spirit, historical architecture and traditions, so beautifully captured in the film.
People from all over the country embraced the displaced natives of the Big Easy with open arms until they were able to return home, much like Benjamin’s adoptive mother did. Today, New Orleans has the look of a fresh young city complemented with a deep wisdom that only can be gained through near-death experiences.

We’re not going to do a documentary interview, a hard-hitting, heavy, newsy interview with you about, like, the plot line of your latest movie. I’m not talking to you about that. I’m going to ask you about your love life. I get e-mails every single day from viewers. They say, “Can you ask Brad Pitt what he loves most about Angelina?” Not like: “Can you ask him, you know, one hour into ‘Benjamin Button,’ the lighting” — No one cares! It’s an opportunity for them to connect with their fans and be human and have fun and be light and funny and gracious. I’m there to allow them to do that. Bashing his exes has NEVER been Brad’s style. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - I’ve been waiting nearly 12 years for him to chop Putrid off at the knees. Angelina Jolie is North Face Fierce
Angelina Jolie keeps warm in a long bubble coat, the North Face Triple C Jacket, while leaving a New York City building late Thursday night (February 19).
The 33-year-old actress had just completed a camera test for her upcoming espionage flick, SALT. On Monday, she visited an apartment building on the Upper West Side that will serve as a production location.
Other pictures include Brad Pitt on Thursday leaving the Hard Rock Hotel And Casino and heading over to the MGM Grand Casino to pick up two of his sons, Maddox and Pax.

That was the whole point for the two Asian boys to be in Vegas. the lions at the MGM and the video games were just side attractions.
And there was no Nanny with them. Just two bodyguards and a pilot.

On a day like this they’re a necessity. I live in NYC and I wore mine today. It’s cold as hell and the wind feels like razor blades. Those long down coats are a godsend.

Opinion - no matter how insulting is one thing - but posting lies about people and libelous gossip is a whole other matter and shouldn’t be encouraged. If the things these trolls post about Jolie and Pitt were posted about Tom Cruise, these sites would be drowning in legal fees.

Perhaps you should reread some of these posts. Posting your opinion is fine. Even when it is negative. But what we have here is often some poster posting absolute defamation. Making up stories or repeating gossip that libels someone is what should get you banned.
Examples: opinion - X is ugly. X is a bad actress. X is silly. X is stupid. X makes poor career choices. I think X does not love Y. X seems cheap. X is cheap looking. All of these are acceptable. Nasty - but still acceptable. And probably not actionable by X or Y.

Examples: defamation/libel - X is a drunk. X cheated on Y. X is an addict. X and Y are separated. X and Y are abusive to children. X and Y steal money. X and Y are in a sham relationship. X has a disease. X submitted false documents in support of an adoption. Y lied about adopting children. All of these are defamatory and not acceptable. They are all actionable in a court of law should a celeb want to waste their time suing. The fact that defamation is spread over the internet makes the potential damage worse and implicates federal statutes.

Opinions are okay. MIsstatements and lies are not okay. Lies do hurt people. Lies can cost money. Which is why courts are so tough on people who lie or deliberately spread lies.
