Daniel Craig — Oscars 2009
Quantam Solace star Daniel Craig and girlfriend Satsuki Mitchell keep close together as they arrive at the 2009 Oscars held at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday night (February 22).
Daniel, 40, presented Best Art Direction, Best Costume Design and Best Makeup with Sarah Jessica Parker.
Hugh Jackman hosted the 2009 Oscars. Performers for the night included: Anne Hathaway, Beyoncé, Zac Efron & Vanessa Hudgens and Amanda Seyfried & Dominic Cooper.

He may have made the unfortunate mistake of mixing his finances with her, so he can’t just end it. Having her as a co-signer on credit cards is certainly one proof of this. I really do think he is trying to help her get her own career going before he breaks it off with her. So lets hope she does have some kind of financial success with some of her “productions”, for Daniel’s sake anyway! Maybe if we start saying how great Satsuki Mitchell is, she’ll become more successful with her own production company and Daniel will be able to leave her without any legal entanglements. I know, I didn’t think any of you would go for that either.
What is wrong with her lower lip and the way it sticks out as if she is trying to catch rainwater??? I do believe she stays because of his money. I have no idea why he stays with a superfugly woman though.

I agree–why on earth would someone want to cultivate an image of being unhappily coupled?
I think it’s a mixture of the obvious personality differences, the strain of his schedule, the fact that she’s basically a stay-at-home girlfriend with no work of her own (at least up until recently), possibly them growing apart, and maybe it’s just run its course.
Because they really look awkward together. All the other couples at the Oscars looked more comfortable than they did.

If he wanted her to be successful on her own, I think he does not go about it the right way. From following a few links you and others posted in this thread today, I start to get the impression that people do not take her seriously at all - and sadly this is Hollywood, so people in the industry do look at dress sense pretty closely. As long as people in the business see her as a tag-along girlfriend in frumpy clothes, there is no chance that she will be taken seriously as a producer. People need to start seeing her on her own more, looking professional and getting involved in interesting projects, and not being joined at the hip to him on the red carpet, and then being ignored at the party.

Look, they are laughed at behind their backs by a lot of people in the business so i hear. They do consider Satsuki as a “runner in”, a term used for someone riding in on someone else(not literally although I’m sure she does that as well).
She is not well liked because of her position and by the way she, according to other reports, is flaunting it.
You can tell by the pictures of her off the red carpet trying mingling with the other people. They all regard her as a g/g NOT as an associate. They give her time of day because of Daniel. It’s that simple.
I think Daniel IS trying to get her known for her own thing but needs to step back from it a bit.

i had a look at those pictures in the bar and i have to wonder if daniel wasn’t sending a message to satsuki. he was clearly angry with someone; perhaps her. daniel’s way of dealing with anger maybe to distance himself from the source of that anger for awhile. of course, the other message may be that the relationship is coming to an end. who knows? as for the dress, i don’t think he was all that happy with it.
leaving the academy awards early could have been for legitmate reasons. either dan or satsuki may not have been feeling well. there are times when i have stomach cramps and, trust me, sitting in a crowded theatre at that time is no fun. all i want is out. so, on this i will give her the benefit of the doubt.
I know wannabe confessed it. But I believe there is any other woman for Daniel and I said that wannbe is close to the fact. I talked about past lives and nobody cares not for it, everybody thinks I am fool but wait and see. Next year Daniel will meet green eyed bomb. I am sure with it, 100%. But it takes a year yet. Damn, we must wait a year for her

I’d say, that that’s what is happening. They just don’t look like an affectionate loving couple anymore, and haven’t for quite some time.

I thought that at first, but wouldn’t they then just have gone home, rather than to a party? And it looked that at least Dan was enjoying himself at the bar…

I guess Lainey is back on the Sats bandwagon (of course, she might have not been off - who knows?). And I do believe it at least has a part to do with Sats being part Asian and “sticking up” for her. Maybe Lainey feels that the nasty and ugly comments (even by her friend Laura) are a attack on Sats being like her ethnically. It might be for some - but IMHO its as farest from the truth as you can get.
Hate the dress, BTW, even on the runway model - so Sats was doomed to start in my eyes. Make-up and hair were fine - but she really needs to stay away from the frilly dresses. She’s very thin (too thin) with a boyish figure - the dress like this one just emphasizes what she is lacking figure wise.
I sound like a broken record sometimes (and I’ve been on these boards by different names - more on that in another post) but Sats is not entirely guilty in all of these fashion faux pas. Dan has to some of the blame. That being said, it’s getting harder and harder to really look at him with her glued to his side - I used to be able to mentally divorce her from a picture - but not anymore. I really dreaded the Oscars and refused to watch any of the activities because of the fear of seeing her with him. I know that makes me a questionable Daniel Craig fan, but so be it - I love him as Bond and think that he is a great actor and looks most of the time fantastic - but the rest of the package is getting just too hard to take.
