OlderJohn Mayer Gives Jennifer Aniston “Moral Support”
John Mayer attended the 2009 Oscars with girlfriend Jennifer Aniston on Sunday and admits he was “very, very nervous.”
Here’s what he spilled on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show while promoting his cruise line, the Mayercraft Carrier 2 [via Us]:
On not really fitting in on the red carpet: “It’s not my world, the Oscar thing. You can go from a Grammy winner to a water boy when you walk in the Kodak Theatre on Oscar night. That’s just like a whole different level… So the idea of walking down a red carpet is such … you know that forever, I basically stepped into the picture frame of Hollywood. For one night, I put on the most amazing suit and entered into the picture frame. You have to really be with someone that you know who has your back in that situation, and she did, and it was really great.”
On using Jen’s connections to meet people: “[I asked Jen,] ‘Will you please introduce me to so-and-so?’ It was really, really fun.”
On needing to grow up a little: “As men, we’re incredibly sensitive about the decisions that we make with the women that we’re with. I’m the kind of person who’s like: If I’m going out with a friend who’s bringing a woman and that friend brings another friend and I have to sit on one side of the table with that other person I don’t know, I have a terrible time because I always feel like people look by and go, ‘Oh, look who he’s with!’ The whole thing is very odd to me. I maybe need to grow up or something.”
On why he and Jen decided to make the Oscars their first major public event together: “At some point, you feel comfortable and say this is the choice I want to make. I think a year is a pretty good period of time with which to say, ‘Let’s go have a really good time at the Oscars!’”

He spoke very well, sounded very sincere. They look great and Very happy, and at the end of the day that’s all that really matters…Nuff said
They seemed happy and all parties have moved on. I wish them well.
I hope the best for them. More specific in that respect, is hoping the best for them in that crazy world of entertainment. I know they would make it outside of it. It’s just a hope that they can survive that bubble down there.

Aniston has never, ever stepped out of the box and did anything extrodinary, not even in the “good girl” which was a complete snooze. Her range is very limited and she sticks with roles that don’t call for change or challenge her from her reality as a bubble-gum pop, America sweetheart, girl next door performer. None of these type of characters will ever garner her an Oscar or any other type of real HW credability.
Until she steps out and become a real woman and not a little girl in a woman’s body she will continue to be stuck.

So at 40 she needs moral support to present an award , not by herself but with someone who is very capable of carrying the ball by himself . I doubt any one of any stature in HW wants to be seriously personally or professonally connected with her .

Loved Jen’s comment in the video “John said me too”, too funny, making a joke about their age difference. I have never heard John’s laugh, too funny.
If Jen would quit yammering about how she and Brad still talk, about how uncool Jolie is, etc, maybe she wouldn’t have needed moral support to present. at the Oscars. The entire audience knew about her most recent whine.
I was married for 17 years and have a grown son with my ex. I do not need any moral support to be around him. I also do not feel the need to share congratulations, etc. even though we are on friendly terms. It’s called moving on. It’s called closure.
As usual, Jen’s wicked sence of humor made me laugh! It’s not everyone who is so confident in themselves that they can joke as she did. I wish Jen and John well…they make a very good looking couple, and their happiness shows…..amen

What on earth would be nervewracking about reading a teleprompter for a few brief moments, then handing out two awards? Even teenagers and child actors have been able to do it without requiring “moral support.” But then, the average teen is far more mature than this blithering ditz.

The average professional (read: NON STAGE ACTOR) is not as familiar or comfortable with being on live television in front of millions of people. If you remember last year Katherine Heigl’s voice actually broke from nerves while she was speaking. It is not unusual at all for any of these people to feel nervous about being a part of this production. Get over it. I challenge you to get on that stage and see how not nerve-wracking it is.
And while you’re at it, why don’t you find us all one person, just one, who has been a presenter at the Oscars or even a nominee, who went there solo. A.K.A, without some sort of moral support.

We were all expecting a catfight between Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie at the Oscars on Sunday. Maybe Jen slapping Angie across the face while calling her a home-wrecking **** or maybe Angelina grabbing Brad’s behind and winking at Jen just as they passed on the red carpet. All of that would have been good but what we got was actually two very classy actresses, who both - yes both - looked stunning and kept their composure at all times.
But it may have been what happened off camera and behind stage that was really worth talking about. Apparently, Jen did get her panties in a bunch but it had nothing to do with her former husband and everything to do with her current beau hunk, Player Mayer. The story goes that John was quite star-struck and more interested in making new celebrity friends than he was acting red carpet appropriate. This obviously did not sit well with Jen. “Friends” was filmed on Warner Bros.’ Burbank lot in front of a LIVE STUDIO AUDIENCE for TEN YEARS.
Moreover, she attended the LaGuardia High School of Music and Performing Arts in NY. My son’s best friend currently attends the school, and all they do there is LIVE PERFORMANCE. Finally, before getting her role on “Friends,” Aniston appeard Off Broadway in “For Dear Life and in “Dancing on Checker’s Grave.” Both wer e LIVE theatrical productions with NIGHTLY shows.
How long, exactly, does it take a 40-year-old to get over her “fear” of a live audience?

I’ve BEEN on stage. I have also attended many awards shows and have even presented. Anyone who accompanied me did so because they enjoyed the thrill of going, not because I needed someone to “hold my hand”. I am not intimidated by anyone or anything, and most assuredly not by reading a teleprompter. English is, after all, my first language, And, unlike Maniston, I am a stable ADULT.
Oh wow, usually I find John Mayer to be a hugh dou*he, but he was nice in that clip. He seemed sincere and comfortable, as did Jennifer Aniston. They both seem happy and relaxed; first time I like them as a couple!

Jennifer Aniston was a no show at a recent charity event when she learnt that Brad Pitt’s ex Gwyneth Paltrow would be attending, it is claimed.
According to U.K. reports Jen failed to make an appearance at a charity fund-raiser where best pal Courteney Cox was being honoured, because the Iron Man actress was on the guest list.
It seems the former Friends star’s most famous feud with Brad’s current partner Angelina Jolie has taken a back seat, to make way for an old cat fight between two of Brad’s former leading ladies.
A source tells Star magazine, “Gwyneth was also being honoured at the event and Jen just couldn’t deal with it.”
The source adds, “She’s always been intimidated by her because of how much Brad loved her.
“And then later she was crushed when Gwyneth criticized her publicly - first referring to her as ‘that TV girl’ when she was dating Brad and then slamming her for talking so publicly about their relationship when they got divorced.

Are you aware that Brad and Angelina have given $5 million plus to NOLA for Katrina homes, and that they also pay for the education of kids in the area? That they helped found and provide support to a foundation in Brad’s hometown for kids who lack basic needs like food, clothing, medicine, shoes in the public schools?

Okay, this is how I think she looked Sunday night:
Dress:
Very, very pretty and she wore it very well. Didn’t glam it up with too much jewelry. I’ll give the dress an A.

Hair:
Same ole same ole and as if that wasn’t bad enough, she put a braid in front like some kind of hairy headband. When is she ever going to let go of that stupid Rachel? She’s 40 years old and it’s not doing anything for her any more. An up-do would have looked really classy with that dress. Hair gets an F.
Makeup:
Gag. Somebody needs to tell Aniston that after you hit the big 4-0, when you pile on the makeup you pile on the years. You need to tone everything down, especially the blush. She looked like somebody hauled off and gobsmacked her on both sides of her face. And that color blush clashed something horrible with her orange tan. Leathery orange skin + big pores + too much blush = disaster. And the lipstick was all wrong. She should have gone with a light gloss. They put the lipstick a whole half inch outside her natural lip line to make her lips look plumper and it was glaringly obvious under those bright lights. Whoever did her makeup should be tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail. Makeup gets a big fat F.

Hi Jill I love reading your posts and the last one was spot on, re-other couples breaking up. some of these JA fans act like Brad and Jen are the only couple to have had a public break up. It is so obvious to me that B&A are much better suited-same interests etc, maybe when Brad was younger he prob liked holidays, sunbaking, but was prob getting fed up when he met AJ.
