OlderJohn Mayer Gives Jennifer Aniston “Moral Support”
John Mayer attended the 2009 Oscars with girlfriend Jennifer Aniston on Sunday and admits he was “very, very nervous.”
Here’s what he spilled on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show while promoting his cruise line, the Mayercraft Carrier 2 [via Us]:
On not really fitting in on the red carpet: “It’s not my world, the Oscar thing. You can go from a Grammy winner to a water boy when you walk in the Kodak Theatre on Oscar night. That’s just like a whole different level… So the idea of walking down a red carpet is such … you know that forever, I basically stepped into the picture frame of Hollywood. For one night, I put on the most amazing suit and entered into the picture frame. You have to really be with someone that you know who has your back in that situation, and she did, and it was really great.”
On using Jen’s connections to meet people: “[I asked Jen,] ‘Will you please introduce me to so-and-so?’ It was really, really fun.”
On needing to grow up a little: “As men, we’re incredibly sensitive about the decisions that we make with the women that we’re with. I’m the kind of person who’s like: If I’m going out with a friend who’s bringing a woman and that friend brings another friend and I have to sit on one side of the table with that other person I don’t know, I have a terrible time because I always feel like people look by and go, ‘Oh, look who he’s with!’ The whole thing is very odd to me. I maybe need to grow up or something.”
On why he and Jen decided to make the Oscars their first major public event together: “At some point, you feel comfortable and say this is the choice I want to make. I think a year is a pretty good period of time with which to say, ‘Let’s go have a really good time at the Oscars!’”

Not for PROFESSIONAL ACTORS, not nervewracking at all. She was on a series that filmed in front of a live audience, and has been in the profession for all of her adult life. What on earth would be nervewracking about reading a teleprompter for a few brief moments, then handing out two awards? Even teenagers and child actors have been able to do it without requiring “moral support.” But then, the average teen is far more mature than this blithering ditz.
She just walked off didn’t even say Thank you. John was gracious enough to say it.
Leave (our) Jennifer Aniston alone… A great percentage of us (just like voting for President Obama) adore this actress!!! She’s happy, John Mayer’s happy, and they’re happy together! She has carried herself with great courage, dignity, and honor during the past three years and deserves to be respected in her public life.

Watching Angelina Jolie’s clips from the movie WANTED at the Oscars cant have done Jen’s nerves any good and to watch three movie by Angelina being nominated and then present a category with one of them, lol the academy dont really like Jen do they.Shame she cant see it.

The average professional (read: NON STAGE ACTOR) is not as familiar or comfortable with being on live television in front of millions of people. If you remember last year Katherine Heigl’s voice actually broke from nerves while she was speaking. It is not unusual at all for any of these people to feel nervous about being a part of this production. Get over it. I challenge you to get on that stage and see how not nerve-wracking it is.
And while you’re at it, why don’t you find us all one person, just one, who has been a presenter at the Oscars or even a nominee, who went there solo. A.K.A, without some sort of moral support.

Now Jen. She looks beautiful and John is such a talented and he looks so sexy in that Armani suit. Whenever you see him he seems to be so in love with her, and Jen looks happy with him. Brad Pitt still says how wonderful person she is, and they were together for many years. Jen is a sweetheart. I don’t get the hate.
One more thing, are you really clueless to the fact that a television stage or movie set, even with an audience of a hundred people or so, is much different than live television or live anything? You people are way too hard on this woman.
He always sounds like he is above others in HW. Like they’re all weird and he is slumming. I like his music but he seems like a strange and condescending little a$$hole. I like Jen but wonder what the hell she see’s in this Abe Lincoln looking weird one.

We were all expecting a catfight between Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie at the Oscars on Sunday. Maybe Jen slapping Angie across the face while calling her a home-wrecking **** or maybe Angelina grabbing Brad’s behind and winking at Jen just as they passed on the red carpet. All of that would have been good but what we got was actually two very classy actresses, who both - yes both - looked stunning and kept their composure at all times.
But it may have been what happened off camera and behind stage that was really worth talking about. Apparently, Jen did get her panties in a bunch but it had nothing to do with her former husband and everything to do with her current beau hunk, Player Mayer. The story goes that John was quite star-struck and more interested in making new celebrity friends than he was acting red carpet appropriate. This obviously did not sit well with Jen. Now I’m not opposed to the thought of Jen having a little bit of a rage-streak in her. I’d actually kind of like to see that. And I also easily believe that John was more interested in all the big names that were there than with being with his girlfriend. Please don’t attempt to lecture me on the entertainment industry. I assure you, you are out-matched.
“Friends” was filmed on Warner Bros.’ Burbank lot in front of a LIVE STUDIO AUDIENCE for TEN YEARS.
Moreover, she attended the LaGuardia High School of Music and Performing Arts in NY. My son’s best friend currently attends the school, and all they do there is LIVE PERFORMANCE. Finally, before getting her role on “Friends,” Aniston appeard Off Broadway in “For Dear Life and in “Dancing on Checker’s Grave.” Both wer e LIVE theatrical productions with NIGHTLY shows.
How long, exactly, does it take a 40-year-old to get over her “fear” of a live audience?
No wonder Huvane’s job is so easy — he has a nation of gullible dolts who will always buy into Maniston’s PHONY “lovable ditz” schtick.. She is 40. 40! 40! !!! When will she finally grow up?

I’ve BEEN on stage. I have also attended many awards shows and have even presented. Anyone who accompanied me did so because they enjoyed the thrill of going, not because I needed someone to “hold my hand”. I am not intimidated by anyone or anything, and most assuredly not by reading a teleprompter. English is, after all, my first language, And, unlike Maniston, I am a stable ADULT.
Oh wow, usually I find John Mayer to be a hugh dou*he, but he was nice in that clip. He seemed sincere and comfortable, as did Jennifer Aniston. They both seem happy and relaxed; first time I like them as a couple!
Good for them!

To *Jackie* … Jen herself said she was neurotic & in therapy for years to “overcome” her fears & insecurities…” ONE of those fears was of FLYING & that’s why she couldn’t go visit Brad during the filming of TROY. HE had to get time off to return to the States to SEE HER! A few weeks/months later her shrink died & suddenly she was able to FLY back for the funeral.

It’s a simple fact: Some people just don’t belong together no matter how “good” they “look”. IF Brad were a “wimp” (as some say he is) wouldn’t he STILL be with her - fatherless & mocked at her “Goddess Circle” get-togethers? If you believe the rags (most do, forgetting how contradictory they are from week to week) Jen should have adopting 3 kids by now! They went off on how she was “getting the nursery ready”; was “pregnant with John’s baby” - Oh! & the real winner: “Brad left her because she miscarried their baby (had abortion behind his back; {read between the lines} he found out & left her) was all IMPLIED by the rags at the time.

The actress avoids her ex husband’s former flame…
Jennifer Aniston was a no show at a recent charity event when she learnt that Brad Pitt’s ex Gwyneth Paltrow would be attending, it is claimed.
According to U.K. reports Jen failed to make an appearance at a charity fund-raiser where best pal Courteney Cox was being honoured, because the Iron Man actress was on the guest list.
It seems the former Friends star’s most famous feud with Brad’s current partner Angelina Jolie has taken a back seat, to make way for an old cat fight between two of Brad’s former leading ladies.
A source tells Star magazine, “Gwyneth was also being honoured at the event and Jen just couldn’t deal with it.”
The source adds, “She’s always been intimidated by her because of how much Brad loved her.
“And then later she was crushed when Gwyneth criticized her publicly - first referring to her as ‘that TV girl’ when she was dating Brad and then slamming her for talking so publicly about their relationship when they got divorced.
“She didn’t want to face her.”
