They didn’t care that we were the official red-carpet show. MySpace India, Warner Bros team up for Benjamin Button

MUMBAI: With 13 nominations and 3 Oscars in its bag, Hollywood flick The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is all set to hit the Indian theatres on 27 February, 2009.

MySpace India has tied up with Warner Bros and will host the official Indian website for the movie, which features a synopsis of the movie, trailers and wallpaper downloads. The film stars Brad Pitt.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is adapted from the 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards.

No. Because they flew into a private airport on a private plane. Unlike some people who pulled up to the front door at LAX, aka Paparazzi Central, Brad only flies commericial these days when he’s taking a quick solo trip and plans to be back in a few days or a week. He did that in 2007 when Angie was shooting Wanted in Chicago and he had jury duty. He did it when Angie was shooting in Prague and he had to shoot 3 or 4 days in Montreal for CCOBB. He did it when he went back to Berlin in December to shoot 1 week on IB. He did it when he went to NO to set up both his Global Green and MIR projects. On all occasions he accompanied Angie and the kids to their wherever they were staying, saw them settled, then flew commercial to conduct his business and was back home within a week.

Sorry…but you’re completely wrong about why we call her X. It’s not for “ex”. Did you take algebra in high school or college? X is placeholder for a number in a math equation - just like Y or Z. Back in the day…we were so digusted and sick of X we couldn’t stand even

First off to the lobbying: The Texas Motion Picture Alliance is marshaling its forces for a rally on the Capitol steps at 7:30am Wednesday, followed by a day of visits with legislators to push changes in the program, including replacing the 5% incentive cap with a flexible number to be set by the Texas Film Commission on a case-by-case basis. Even the dumb jenhens can tell Maniston-Peeboy is a match made in Hollyweird. That’s how fake the pairing looks. Brad Pitt didn’t need to go sell his attraction to Angelina on talk shows or radios. People were fascinated and the paps hounded him down. Peeboy and sugarmama were all over each other on the redcarpet and still nobody is buying it. Same thing with Tiny Tom’s couch jumping on Oprah to advertise his love. Nobody bought it either. People may be in denial but deep down they are not too dumb.

True stories are quite challenging when interpreted in movie-form, especially if taken from decades ago. Unlike computer-generated and animated movies, or even horrors, a film based on true events requires precision, right from the cinematography and costumes to the nitty gritty like hair styles for it to pass as realistic as possible.

In other words, it’s just not enough to have a good “true story”; the movie has to capture the essence of that time, to be believed. Changeling manages to capture the mood of America in 1928 two years before the great depression.

The sad and gloomy tone, which is a constant in the whole movie captures the severe economic woes America was going through to the tee. From Christine Collins’s (played by Angelina Jolie) hard-up lifestyle, (despite her holding a somewhat paying job as a phone operator), to the lifeless neighbourhoods shown in the whole movie, the gloom of that time cannot be missed.

But it’s Jolie whose portrayal of the courageous Collins, brings Changeling and Christine’s character to life. You feel the poor woman’s anguish and pain as she battles everything before her – including a corrupt police force, to get her son back.

Jolie, whose rise to international stardom was due to her tom-boy portrayal in the 2001 Lara Croft; Tomb Raider, is known for acting in hyper movies where she plays sassy and courageous characters like Gone in 60 Seconds and Mr & Mrs Smith.

So to make a sudden U-turn and play a mother left lifeless due to the disappearance of her son is risky, but Jolie pulls it off with her subtle, yet confident portrayal of Collins.

Changeling as a movie speaks to the viewer, especially mothers, whose worst nightmare is having one of their children kidnapped.

This in itself creates a special bond between the movie and the viewer, whose inquisitiveness about how the mother ended up finding her son, is heightened. Question is; did she find her son? Why don’t you find out yourself?

Why do they even care one way or the other if Brad/Angie make it or not. Why do they care about what he does or does not do. They know more about this couple then many of their fans. But we all know that Jennifer is has no where near the personality of Angelina Jolie. and John Mayer is a piece of white toast compared to Brad Pitt.
