To funny that people say the movie is ruined because of a couple of scenes. How can a spy thriller be ruined when what is shown is a chase scene and disguises? That is found in most movies of this genre. Also this is being shot in public. You can’t keep the public away and stop the paps from taking pictures.

Re this thread. I have to say one of the things that I most admire about AJ, and there are many, is her true grit and moxy. I can’t think of one HW type who has her ballz. For being the most beautiful person in the public eye, so feminine and sexy……she has one large set of cajones. One minute you see her reading some rarified piece of literature on world affairs, the next she if flying over a concrete wall, could then hop on a chopper, fly a plane or stroll thru a refugee camp in a dangerous third world country……..all the while parenting six kids and being the WOMAN to her MAN. Smart investors diversify. Brad used to have a lot of money tied up in real estate. Considering where he owns property, I can’t really see the values dropping that much, but I’m definitely no real estate expert. Brad also has a lot of money tied up his art and modern furniture collections. Other than that, I have no idea where they’ve put their money. If they were smart it’s not all in one place - like Kyra Sedgewick & Kevin Bacon and Eric Roth (writer of CCOBB). Apparently they had ALL of their money tied up in Madoff’s scheme. Katzenberg said he lost something like $100MIL, Spielberg about the same. Madoff better hope Geffen didn’t have any money in his scheme or he’ll be found floating with the fishies in the Hudson River. The last 3 guys are billionaires and obviously have other assets, but some people like Roth and the Bacons find themselves in their early 60s and mid/late 40s having to rebuild their retirement funds. And yet Madoff may walk away with no jail time…AND get to keep assets of around $50MIL.

Salt has been filming in town for the last two days, and as far as we understand it, will be here for at least four more. On Wednesday, they were shooting at the Mandarin Oriental hotel, and this morning, they were at 7th and Pennsylvania Ave., which reportedly really mucked up traffic.

the problem PT is that she doesn’t know the difference between a lie and the truth. Her lies are her truths…she feeds into her own fantasy about herself, her image and ego that she’d be horrified if she recognized the “truth”. Moviehole also reports that Sony wants to make Salt into a franchise, and it’s been years since Angelina had one of those. I guess they’re pretty high on this, then. I’d hope so, after all it’s been through.

Sony want this to be one of their key releases of the next twelve months - if only because they’re hoping this first chapter will spin-off into a franchise (with Ms Jolie back as Evelyn Salt).

Someone brought up the crazies at FF waiting desperately for the JP kids to grow up and hate their parents for hurting poor Jen. And I have to say, this argument is always one of the most telling to me. Because at heart, what their problem is is that they know Jen is essentially nothing but a footnote in Brad’s life. They need to hang onto this delusion that 10 years from now, his extremely brief marriage will actually mean something. But it doesn’t now, and it won’t then. They know Brad isn’t worrying about Jen. So many AJ fans talking about how Angie has done NO work since Changeling…what aout Kung Fu Panda? Also, once the move wraps then comes post production work(remember Brad said in Mr. and Mrs. Smith had a couple months of post production which is when they really fell in love??!!!)

Then comes the U.S. promotions and then International Promotions then the talk show junckets… Then Cannes, etc etc. Last I remember she was doing Kung Fu Panda press junkets up until she popped.

You can’t seriously be this dumb. First, she did the voice work for KFP long before Changeling. Second, she spent probably a grand total of about 10 days in all of 2008 promoting her films. Third, post-production is for the PRODUCTION crew, not the actors. Brad and Angie weren’t doing post-production on MAMS, THEY WERE STILL SHOOTING IT. Post-production is editing, sound, score, etc.

And if you’re going to split hairs - Angie did about 14 days of promotional work on her movies last year - 14 days out of 365. Some people in this country don’t even get 14 vacation days a year, let alone only have to show up at “work” each day for 1, 2 or 3 hours and sit in a chair and talk about something they did 6-12 months previously or talk about their family life.

Much as I love Angelina, I don’t think her not winning the Oscar was any kind of travesty. It’s not really her fault, but Changeling was just not very well-written. It was a bit too on the surface and melodramatic. And yes, the story WAS dramatic, but the script needed more subtlety. In particular, that scene where she confronts the killer in jail was just so hackish. It needed better writing, and Eastwood should’ve done a much better job of editing it. My favorite scene of hers was actually when she talks to the fake Walter and says that he doesn’t understand what he’s doing. That scene, I think, was very subtle and beautifully written and acted.

I’ve seen all the Best Actress contenders, and I do think Kate had the most challenging role, so I’m fine with her winning. After that, I think Hathaway had the next best role, but didn’t do the greatest job with it. Meryl was up and down, some great scenes, some not so great. Melissa Leo was probably my least favorite, but that might just be because I found her character SO annoying.

LYNN, I’m glad you enjoyed watching Changeling as much as I did. Her acting was great and there wasn’t a dry eye in the threater. She was perfect for the part and any mother could feel her pain. I’ve also seen Kates and it was okay but I had a hard time watching it.

Um…how can there be “Oscar Buzzkill” when this is an action film that is obviously intended to be a moneymaker, not an Oscar contender. Of course she’s not going to win an Oscar for this.
