South Park Mocks Jonas Brothers’ Purity Rings
The Jonas Brothers received the South Park treatment on Wednesday night’s episode on Comedy Central.
In the ep, Kenny decides that taking his new girlfriend to a Jonas Brothers concert might earn him a special place in her heart…not to mention other body parts. Unfortunately, his dreams are crushed when purity rings are handed out at the concert.

I loved that they are poking fun at religion. It’s about time this country starts to wake up and look at religion for what it is: a man-made crutch for dealing with inevitability of death and the objective (i didn’t say subjective) meaningless of human existence. And anyone who bases their sexual mores on a blatant piece of fiction, well, they deserve to be made fun of.
The US is gradually opening its eyes, but it is greatly behind the rest of the developed world goes on secular thought.
P.S. Jonas Brothers suck.

SOOOO GOOD!!! But people who think this was just making fun of religion &the Jonas Brothers need to think a little deeper…it was calling out a system that misuses these things and tries to impose beliefs on people who don’t want them (that includes commenters trying to force their atheism on the religious). The person saying nasty things about religion etcetera was the BAD GUY!

Actually, the Jonas brothers were the only ones in the episode who actually tried to do the right thing. If anything, Matt & Trey made em look like they actually might NOT be complete douchebags…But if you are any indication of what their fans are like, then yeah, they are most defiantly douchebags.

Purity rings are dumb. Aside from the fact that they don’t work, they represent abstinence which is an extreme lifestyle. And mickey needs you to wear it so he can make money.
On the other hand, if you get a BJ from some random girl in a TGIF parking lot, eventually you will die of syphillis as did Kenny.
The jokes themselves are extreme, but that only accentuates the point: that people should find a middle ground and be smart about their actions. We have sexual urges because it’s natural, however we can’t be havin sex like jack rabbits. C’mon people. This is classic south park and I love it.

They are NOT making fun of purity rings! infacta quote from the show is “its wrong to take a pure christian symmbol and use it for profit gain”! the point south park is making is that disney is USEING the Jonas Brothers to MAKE THEM MONEY and useing thier RELIGON to make them even more money! its soooooooooo very wrong! and again FYI #34- South Park has been around for 13 years, a LOT longer than the Johnas Brothers have been alive and will probably out last them too. They HAVE made good episodes, lots of them. Why do you think they have lasted so long? and also, they make their money by making fun of famous people, thats what they do.
TRAY PARKER AND MATT STONE ARE GENIUSES. they became famous on their own. They didnt need Disney to make them that way and write their music.
It’s open to interpretation, but I thought the episode was more about pre-marital sex than Disney being an evil corporation. Example: when the kids are making a snowman with a giant phallus or when the J bros dump their warm white foam all over the pre-teen girls. HAHAHAHA……..I can’t type any more. Too funny.

Actually, after giving it a good thought, the episode is more about the irony in selling sex while wearing a purity ring. And Kenny’s death in the end was ironic which emphasizes this. Maybe I’m just over-analyzing a cartoon. Whatever, it was still funny as hell.

It’s funny, because at first I thought the white foam bit had ruined the credibility of their statement by taking it too far, then I saw a video that proved that they actually got hoses out in concert and sprayed the girls with white foam. Wow. How did we not see it?
