South Park Mocks Jonas Brothers’ Purity Rings

Hey Bill, first of all thank you for being serious. Second of all, up yours. Religion is not a crutch, nor is it something that should be made fun of just because some people regard it as “stupid” and we need to “wake up”. Give me a break, you atheists are pathetic. Simply pathetic.

#51 religion is indeed a crutch. we live in a time where we now know the history behind the birth of christianity, and anybody who believes in it is simply ignorant. why don’t you look up where the concept for heaven and hell came from. it came from the Greeks, Plato’s Phaedo to be precise. i pity you and all these purity ring wearing people. it saddens me that you’ll waste your life thinking there’s something waiting for you afterward. luckily, you won’t get the opportunity to be disappointed when you die, SINCE NOTHING HAPPENS.

the great mystery isn’t death, it’s life. you should learn to appreciate it and stop desecrating it with religion, which leads you to appreciate and care for life less since you think there’s something after it. the rich and powerful will always exploit people like you by convincing you that this life isn’t the one that matters so you should live humbly and not complain. that’s what the south park episode was saying about disney in the first place.

Now about the religion thing, i dont think its a crutch but at the same time i believe people need to use their heads. I think its just human nature to believe in something bigger. On the downside, most religions do, and if you read it you’ll see it, say that death is the way to see God and that the only reason we should do good in this world is to ensure our seat in heaven. I am sorry, but when i help someone out, its to help them out, not to make sure that i get a nice puffy cloud. We, as a people, need to step back and start using our heads and enjoy life, not look forward to death. You guys should watch religulous, best movie ever

To #18. To add to what number #23 was saying i felt it was about how Disney are using the purity rings to manipulate and extort littles girls. By making it ok to sell sexuality to them because of the purity rings its ironic actually.

First of all anyone sticking up for the jonas brothers or Christianity needs to watch the fowl language. You are not helping anything and you’re making the rest of us look like unintelligent idiots. Second I watch disney all the time and can say Disney does sell sex discreetly not all the time but sometimes. Let’s admit it sex sells whether we want it to or not. Third I am a Christian and Christianity is not a religion. If your are a Christian and say Christianity is your religion then you need to think again. It’s a relationship. Religion is about following rules/ laws and Christianity does not force you to do anything. It’s there so you can have a relationship with your Heavenly Father. And being a good person or doing good deeds does nothing for you in the eyes of God if you don’t have the relationship. Being a good person or doing good deeds does not get you into Heaven. Having faith does. Purity is about having confidence in yourself. I choose not to have sex because I don’t want to. I want to be one of the ones who can say I actually waited and I’m proud of it.

Parts of the show were good. And behind it all it had good meaning. But some of it went to far. I had never watched South Park before so I didn’t know what to expect. But I can tell you it did have some truth behind it.

Okay, I’M a Jonas a fan and I thought it was hilarious! I hate how some of the fans are making a huge deal of it. It’s funny! Get over it! And it’s not like they’re completely making fun of the Jonas Brothers — it even has some truth in it. It shows how much Disney is controlling them. They picked the wrong thing — the purity rings came before Disney and are their own beliefs — but it’s still a bit accurate, I think. I still thought it was pretty funny, though. Any time Mickey would be talking, they’d just have this blank look on their faces. Sigh . . . only episode of South Park I’ve ever seen, but it was pretty good.
