Brad & The Boys Blast Off to Mars
Brad Pitt (in Hoyle Jackson jeans) has a guys’ day out with his sons, Maddox, 7, and Pax, 5, as they head to the restaurant “Mars 2112″ in New York City on Friday (March 13).
Brad, 45, and his sons love to visit the alien-themed restaurant when they’re in town. According to an OK! source, “A lot of times, they just go straight to the game room! They love the video games!” The kids also got their pictures taken with the Mars 2112 staff that are dressed as aliens.
People close to their table mentioned that Brad calls Pax, “Paxie” and Maddox, “Mad”. How cute!

Angelina Jolie is the rare actress who can carry action films that do big business abroad. Hollywood typically counts on actors such as Will Smith, above, in “Hancock”; Denzel Washington, Matt Damon and Tom Cruise
Want to be a big deal in the movie industry? There’s one sure-fire way to increase your chances: Be born male.
The result: Men vastly outnumbered and outranked women by a wide margin. Only four actresses (Angelina Jolie, tied for No. 2; Julia Roberts, No. 11; Meryl Streep, No. 16; and Nicole Kidman, No. 22) ranked among the 30 most bankable. Just 28 women were among the top 100, and only 185 were in the top 500 (for the record, the Hollywood suits rated Will Smith as the most bankable of all).
The only actress who has consistently broken into this men’s club is Jolie, points out Anne Thompson, a film blogger and the former editor of the movie magazine Premiere. In hit movies like “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider,” “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” and the recent “Wanted,” audiences have accepted Jolie as a gun-toting, butt-kicking spitfire — a track record no other actress in history can claim, she says.
A few women — Sigourney Weaver in the “Alien” films, for example — have occasionally pulled this off, but only when the plots call for them to protect a child. Jolie, on the other hand, isn’t dependent on this story device. “I don’t think the culture was ready for this before,” Thompson says of Jolie’s action-heroine status. “It wasn’t able to accept women with guns.”
But this raises a question: Since not every film is an action pic, wouldn’t women be as important, as “bankable,” as men in other kinds of movies, such as romantic comedies? Don’t women, more so than men, flock to movies like “Sex and the City” and “Mamma Mia!”?
Yes, but the market for these films is far more limited than comic-book blockbusters like “The Dark Knight” and “Iron Man.” Romantic comedies tend not to open with the same box-office numbers as the latest action, sci-fi or horror movie, and don’t play as well outside the U.S. market. Romantic comedies also carry a dreaded label: “chick flick.”
“Men [dismiss] a ‘women’s’ film as a chick flick,” Dergarabedian says. “Women see an action film as a movie.”
Nevertheless, some observers think the pattern could be slowly changing. Noting Jolie’s breakthrough status and the success of romantically themed movies like “Twilight” and “He’s Just Not Into You,” (?) Forbes editor John Burman, who conducted the magazine’s “bankability” survey, says, “I think women are making inroads. Audiences are becoming more accepting of seeing more types of [actors and actresses] in different roles.”

With mom Angelina Jolie busy shooting scenes uptown in Washington Heights, her two older sons, Maddox and Pax, enjoyed a boys-only lunch with proud pop Brad Pitt at one of their favorite Manhattan restaurants on Friday afternoon.

Of course, the boys being boys, their favorite restaurant isn’t some 4-star, $150 a plate celebrity haunt, but alien-themed tourist fave Mars 2112.

According to restaurant insiders, Brad called ahead to arrange a VIP table for him and his sons. And the A-lister definitely got that VIP treatment from the staff. “Waiters were squabbling over who got to serve them,” one witness tells OK!. “I overheard one of them complaining to a co-worker, ‘It was my turn to wait on Brad!’”

But perhaps that’s because the last time Brad brought his brood to Mars 2112, he dropped a $100 tip on a $45 check!

Diners at the restaurant tell OK! that the two boys - and their kid-at-heart father - certainly had a good time in the restaurant’s arcade area, where they’re regulars when staying in NYC.

“A lot of times, they just go straight to the game room,” one insider tells OK!. “They love the video games.” And on Friday, they were loving Crazy Taxi, Tekken 5 and Madden Season 2 in particular. One diner says that Brad even played a few games by himself while his sons worked out their excess energy.

Pam Grier was believable as an action star but I agree with the article that Angelina is the only one these days that passes.
Also when I saw the commercial for the new Paul Rudd movie (I love you man) I thought the same them. A rom com with 2 men as the lead. Also include Knock Up .

For those not in NYC, the restaurant is below street level and those stairs go to the esplanade in front of it.

We took my nephew there last summer for his birthday. From the lobby you enter a small door that disguises a small space craft. As you sit in your craft you watch a video on a screen that is like a space craft windshield and you blast off and travel through space to Mars. Your seats mimick air travel shaking and rolling. After you land you exit the opposite door and enter MARS! Everything from then on is designed like a Martian landscape - the tunnels, hallways, the stairs, etc. It’s like a giant cave. The gameroom is full of video and arcade games. They gave my nephew free passes for the games since it was his b-day.
The food is okay and the deserts are very good and sort of creative for kids. The waiters dote on you and really make it fun for the kids. Especially if it’s your birthday - they festoon your table and seats with balloons and do it all up festive. All kinds of crazy Martians visit you at your table and you can take pictures with them. And thankfully it’s not that expensive. We thought my nephew might be too old for it but he loved it as did we.

Great to see papa Brad out with the boys too. Last week it was daddy and his two beautiful girls, now it was boys´ turn to have their dad all to themselves. Both Mad and Pax have grown a lot lately. They´re big boys now. Pax sure had a blast with his dad and big brother. Last year Brad took only Mad to Mars 2112 but now Pax joined them. They all sure had a blast. According to OK! Mad got up during the lunch and hugged his dad. How cute. He truly is his father´s son.

Courts can and have imposed an implied duty on employees and contractors when there was no specific written duty. bethany granger - I soo agree with you. No child is ugly. The JP children are very lucky to have such a loving and caring parents. Mad and Pax are the sweetest little boys I´ve ever seen and also the rest of the children are absolutely ADORABLE! When Angie adopted Mad in 2002 she was a very restless young woman and suddenly her life changed when she adopted this handsome little Cambodian boy. In 2005 she and Brad literally saved Zahara´s life when she came into her parents´ life. She was a very sick little baby girl but look at her now! She is a really beautiful, healthy little girl. Shi is theit first bio child and will always have a very special place in her parents´ hearts. Pax also got another chance in life when Angie and Brad adopted him in 2007. An now they have those adorable twins! Knox and Viv are also lucky to have Brad and Angie as their parents. Knox will certainly be a spitting image of his dad and Viv a spitting image of mum Angie. But no matter are the children adopted or biological both Brad and Angie love them all equally! No matter what the h8ters say.

Maybe I should have thanked him when I won my Golden Globe in 2003? Maybe I should have put my marriage first? Maybe I should have spent less time with Courtney Cox? Maybe I should have not worked while he was working? Maybe I should encouraged his passion for photography? Maybe I should have notice how unhappy he was? Maybe I should have offered to go to marriage counseling? Maybe I should have used his fame to get a film role?
I hope the haters notice I didn’t mention anything about kids. I am probably one of the few people who believe. That marriage didn’t fall apart because of children. It failed because there was a lack of love, respect and a common interest.
