Orlando Bloom Is Sweet To His Sister
Orlando Bloom puts his arm around his sister, Samantha Bloom, attending a private viewing of “Mythologies” by The Haunch of Venison Gallery on Thursday (March 12) in London, England.
The 32-year-old actor has been riding around London on his new Harley Davidson and even took some pictures with fans.
Orlando’s girlfriend, Miranda Kerr was spotted traveling back to her native Australia, after attending the Victoria’s Secret Model Launch event.

But those more professional interviews come attached to film promotion. He hasn’t given ANY interviews that can recall, since he did In Celebration. The only pics that we will get, without a movie promotion, ARE private moment (pap) pics. What we read into those pictures are our own fault. He goes out with friends, family, and yes, his girlfriend, and gets photographed. Those photographs end up in celebrity, gossip magazines. Those type of pics of him have ALWAYS ended up in gossip rags, it’s just that now, we don’t have professional interviews to balance them out. That’s why people think that he is more of a ‘celebrity’ now, than an ‘actor’? I don’t think that he has changed. He is obviously still persuing his art. If those projects had come through, we would have had that balance. But even when he was filming Sympathy, people were still talking more about his girlfriend than they were about the film. I wonder whose fault that is? Yep, it’s ours, certainly not Orlando’s.
On another board I was just discussing another actor who had nothing but trouble, real personal trouble for years. I remember that those troubles and his personal life was all people wanted to focus on with him. But, in spite of that, he still worked all the time, trying to make the balance himself I guess. Some stuff was not so great, but others were, but he worked and kept himself out there for what he did for a living, not for who he was dating. Now his personal life is in a great place, and so is his profession and people talk about him as if none of that ever happened.
I made the point just as you did that he will get more professional coverage by industry outlets rather than rags if he is working, so why is that an acceptable statement coming from you and not me? If Orlando wanted to change the perception of whats going on and what is talked about, he would. He doesnt have to have a film project to be a guest on talk shows. He can start and do other long term projects that would take the focus off his personal life. Saying he’s trying, and all that, well it really doesnt seem to be holding water. Its seems lately, based on him flying here and there and everywhere to be any place but on a movie set for more than a week at a time, is what he is interested in. So as far as I can see, maybe being that guy in that video with all that long term commitment to his craft, all that zeal, maybe thats not who he is anymore. I’m not saying I know, I’m just saying that I see other actors his age working all the time….balancing out all the personal bull of what people see, but I have to keep wondering why so much he claims to be doing never really comes to light. Maybe he’s biting off more that he can chew right now by trying to produce a movie as well as act. I dont know. I just see that since the accident, the gossip rags and online discussions havent been very nice. Starting up a relationship with an up and climbing model just after that didnt help.
Maybe it doesnt matter to him what is said about him, or how some of his fans want to see THAT guy again. Yes, of course he is older and more weathered by things, but I can hope cant I, that he will show that same kind of zeal again? I have the right to see it the way I see it because people making an effort do what they say they will do. Its as simple as that. I think he should be careful with movie choices, but two small roles in two years is being just a bit too careful dont ya think?
My whole point was just to thank poster 41 for the video and how nice it was to see that Orlando again. But 47 just had to make it be about something else completely.
It’s his life to live and we have no business to dictate him of what kind of life he should lead. It’s his own choice, but hoping that he should live up to the fans expectation is not a bad thing as long as it’s not leading to hating someone else.

Really, yes he does. You just can’t call up David Letterman and say that you want to be on his show, ‘just because’. They want a reason to have you on. And if he isn’t promoting a movie, the only thing that he would be brought on to talk about would be his personal life. Is that what you want?

To you, maybe. He is finding interesting stories, that look like they could be great films. Why can’t we, as fans, have a little patience? He seems desperate to shake the teen-idol image. I’m willing to wait for him.

He has also flown here and there to investigate film sets, and to talk to the people of Sarajevo for Fools Rush In. And if he is free, why SHOULDN’T he fly to meet his girlfriend? Would you feel the same way if he was still dating Kate, and was flying to meet her?

Fair enough. I dont want to argue about any of this anymore. I want him to work….point blank. Does that make me a bad person? Maybe. But youre right, I’m impatient now. Do I wish he had the same passion, and it showed? Yes. That is what I see, or dont see actually.
So to my original post, thanks 41 for linking that interview. It was nice to see.
What leads you to think he doesn’t feel that passionate about his work? He hasn’t given interviews and has hardly talked at all in about two years, it’s pointless to compare a past interview with…nothing. He seems to have been trying to get very complicated projects ahead and is back to work again, so what’s really the deal?
Just an observation and not talking about anyone in particular but I’ve seen that before there were complaints because he wasn’t working and everything we knew about him was his private life. Now he’s worked -and apparently will work again soon-, and the same people who complained keep on focusing on his private life and avoid any possible discussion about his new projects.
His life isn’t on rags any more than any other Hollywood star’s. I don’t see him going all celebrity, or at least not more than any other celebrity of his status, I see his fans more interested in who he dates than any other aspect. So I personally don’t blame him, I blame us.
I don’t think he is going through “serious personal trouble”, he is just dating a model and this silly detail has been made a world of. And the accident he had, I personally don’t think it has that much influence, I see that references to it are anecdotic at best and that it was widely proved that he wasn’t responsible for it and that he is still friends with his injured friend.

I’m #40 & 41. Glad you enjoyed the video. I get the sad feeling that he has changed in some ways, and not all of them for the better. Maybe too much money, too much fame and too much success too early in his career, without enough time spent learning his craft and really struggling as many talented actors with long term careers have, has been part of the problem. People can have the best intentions, but that doesn’t mean things will turn out the way they hoped or planned. Maybe one of the reasons Orlando sought so much advice from his costars over the years, advice pertaining to dealing with fame and celebrity, is because he knew deep down inside himself that he’d be very vulnerable to all the temptations in Tinseltown. He’s admitted to clubbing in London while a teen, and he seems to still enjoy that lifestyle. I’m not knocking it. To each his own. I don’t know how clubbing will fit in with being a husband and a father, which I believe he stated some years ago that he couldn’t wait to be and do, but that’s up to him to figure out.
Glad you enjoyed the video. I like the Orlando in that video. He seemed genuine and sincere. Maybe all of that was a lie and PR, but I tend to think he was not that PR savvy or controlled right after LOTR came out. I tend to think he was just being his charming and naturally bubbly self.
