Angelina Jolie takes on her role a raven-haired femme fatale Evelyn A. Salt as she films her upcoming spy flick with costar Liev Schreiber (pictured below) in New York City on Saturday (March 14).
Salt is a CIA officer who is fingered as a Russian sleeper spy. Liev plays Salt’s boss and friend on the Russian desk at the CIA. The film was originally developed with Tom Cruise in the lead role, centering on Edwin A. Salt.

Angie looks great. This movie is reminding me of the Mission Impossible films, I see why TomC was originally attached to this. Enjoy seeing some of the outside scenes, both in DC and now NYC. Just love spy films and this looks like it willl be a good one.
Guess some true simpletons are here commenting, outside scenes being filmed in a city like DC or NYC are always papp and fan meccas, just like outside scenes from Gossip Girl and the new Kevin Klein/Katie Holmes and the new SJP film which will start soon in NYC are/or will be seen every day.
The free publicity the film is getting will bring in more moviegoers, and the studio is well aware of that fact as is everyone with any intelligence. This actually makes the studio very very happy.

There are so man movies filmed on the streets of big cities and YET this is the ONLY one that pics comes out every single day. No one s going to want to see it. Right now, it looks very boring. She isn’t acting, she’s just running around and standing around. They could have cast anyone in this movie.

SALT is great for NYC economy. Fewer films/tv series are being made here and the state film subsidy is in some danger. This film is employing many people and bringing millions to the NYC economy.

We now know and so does Angie that blonde and bangs regardless of color are not great combinations for her. Also, she has a really big head so when she wears wigs they look funny.
Why is there so much bit*hing about the movie stills. Don’t most of you realized that some of this stuff will in all likely hood be cut during the editing process. We have seen still from other movies. Shots and costumes that never make it to the big screen. This whole negative rants before the movie is made is just ridiculous. It is just a way to undermine the movie before it comes out. We have seen two or three scenes from what will be hundreds of shots. These are not in an order so we don’t know what is really going on. I for one will be in the theater opening day to support one of my favorite actors. Be damned to the nuts who come here to criticize and complain about a woman they say they don’t like. Who cares what you think.. or don’t think.
We don’t have to say that Angelina is a beautiful woman. The nuts know that. That is why they are here. No life of their own, so they have to attached themselves to the greatness that is Angelina. Just like children, they want attention. Even a child will behave in a negative way to get a response from someone. So we must conclude that most of negative comes from children, or adults who are so pathetic and empty in their own lives that they must attack someone who they feel has the life that they so desperately want. But you have to stop focusing on Angie and get out of you home to get a life. Some of you are such sad souls. You must live lives of desperation and loneliness. You are more obsessed with this woman then her fans. I freely admit I am a big fan. I post on occasion, but I do have a life outside my like for Brad/Angelina. But it seems you nuts sit around waiting for news on them and are on the boards as soon as it hits. PATHETHIC is not a sufficient word to describe you.
Please get some help before it is too late.

Seems NYC is the place for movies this Spring, with Angie, Katie Holmes and Jennifer Anniston(shooting back to back films) seems like some good money being poured into the economy by the movie industry. Impact of Coinfection on Vertical Transmission of HIV and HCV
Women coinfected with HIV and HCV have a higher risk of transmitting HIV to their infants; some studies have shown a 10% (or greater) rate above that of women infected with HIV alone. Coinfected women are also more likely to pass HCV to their infants. Approximately 20% of babies born to HIV/HCV-coinfected mothers acquire HCV, compared with 5-6% of infants born to HCV-infected women without HIV. Breast-feeding is not known to transmit HCV, although HIV-infected women are advised against breast-feeding because of the risk of transmitting HIV.

Acute HCV Infection
Acute HCV infection is usually not recognized. In most cases, patients with acute HCV infection are asymptomatic or have nonspecific symptoms such as fatigue and, occasionally, jaundice and scleral icterus. Acute HCV infection is sometimes discovered on the basis of elevations in aspartate aminotransferase (AST) or alanine aminotransferase (ALT) in asymptomatic patients who receive regular monitoring of hepatic transaminases. Most patients with acute HCV will not resolve the infection and will progress to chronic infection, but symptomatic patients generally have a higher likelihood of clearing the virus than do asymptomatic patients (see ” Treatment for Acute HCV “, below).
Chronic HCV Infection
About 60-85% of people who become infected with HCV are unable to clear the virus and become chronically infected. Major manifestations are usually not seen in immunocompetent people for 15-20 years, although ALT may be transiently elevated during earlier stages of disease. The virus can cause gradual hepatic fibrosis and eventual cirrhosis, end-stage liver disease, and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Death can occur from decompensated liver disease; the consequences of portal hypertension, esophageal varices, coagulopathy, and thrombocytopenia; HCC; or some combination of these conditions. HIV-infected patients who are not treated with antiretroviral (ARV) medications tend to have faster progression of liver disease than those who are treated.

Angelina is petite actually sort of tiny and I was surprised as she projects bigger on film. She speaks to all and never complains. Her BGs are also nice people just doing their jobs and she needs them as paps are always trying to get close in and take her pixs. She is wearing lots of makeup and disguises in this production and she is so patient getting ready for each scene. She has had lots of early calls and she is always prepared.
And I guess you don’t know that insurance companies drug test all cast and crew these days. No drugs allowed as productions are big business and business does not tolerate any interruptions due to drug use. Lots of cops are around this production at all times.

As far as the pilot’s license(no the plane license) Angie holds she got that license, not because she loved to fly, but, because as she stated in an interview Maddox loves planes and she wanted to impress Maddox when he was only a couple years old. OH yeah that’s real normal!
She got involved with the U.N. before her nervous breakdown it appears? So was she just young when she became involved with that as well?

A spy said Anderson - who’s also responsible for Madonna’s freakishly buff bod - and gym reps have been cold-calling people asking them to come in for a meeting. “It’s ridiculous,” said a person who was contacted. “Membership is like $4,500 to join and then hundreds of dollars a month. Who can afford that right now?” The gym is supposed to open later this year.

THE GOON is coming to some sort of life, thanks to producer David Fincher and a whole lot of computer animation.
AICN got the first snazzy hi-res images from the project (click above for better and more), which seems to perfectly capture the look and tone of the series (see below). The story revolves around a zombie-punching, monster-fighting mob enforcer and his mouthy sidekick, and their misadventures in a bizarre creature-filled town.
The CG is handled by animation/FX house Blur Studio, who’ve done work for various videogames, commercials and television
projects — Fincher worked with them (and frequent collaborator Brad Pitt) on a Softbank ad.

N.Y. entertainment industry urges action on tax credit
New York’s place as the No. 2 state for film and TV production behind California will be in peril if lawmakers water down the tax credits, Suna warns.
“You will not get a single new TV series come to New York if they do that,” he said, noting that while 19 TV pilots were shot in New York last year, there are none coming this spring.
This imperils not just workers in the Big Apple but in the Lower Hudson Valley, Suna contends.
“Bob Blair, an electrician on ‘30 Rock,’ lives around the corner from me in Briarcliff,” Suna said. “There are a lot of people in Westchester County who are employed in this industry. And their employment will evaporate if they put caps on any continued program.”
Price, the sound mixer from Ossining, said he has spent 20 years working in film and TV and depends on shows coming into the New York region.
“This is a proven, job-creating, profit-making program that enables me to work near my friends, stay home with my family and contribute to my community,” he said. “Even though I have a pilot for ABC coming up, thank goodness, because of the loss of these incentives I haven’t worked in weeks.”
Stevens said just two movie shoots are lined up in Westchester. Both applied for incentives before the money ran out.
“Salt,” starring Angelina Jolie and scheduled for release next year, will be filming in White Plains government buildings. An untitled Harrison Ford picture also will be shooting on county property.

Romantic comedies also carry a dreaded label: “chick flick.”
This is where the sociology and gender psychology of moviegoing comes into play. A couple choosing which movie to see on a Friday or Saturday night play a subtle game of dominance and submission, says E. Ann Kaplan, the director of the Humanities Institute at Stony Brook University in New York and co-editor of “Feminism and Film.” More often than not, she says, the woman gives in and the guy gets to see what he wants.
“Women will go where the males want to go,” Kaplan says. “If he says, ‘I want to go to ‘I Am Legend,’ she’s not going to say, ‘I won’t.’ . . . After all the strides of the women’s movement, after all the efforts to bring women to parity with men, it’s still a question of power and pleasing your male.”
Or as Thompson puts it, “Women are trained in this culture to see things from a male point of view, to be sympathetic to men, to go along for the ride with them, to laugh at what they find funny. But men don’t extend themselves to identify with women in the same way.”
Paul Dergarabedian, a longtime box-office analyst now affiliated with Hollywood.com, suggests there may be something about these choices and behaviors that are hard-wired into the sexes at a very early age. In general, he says, young boys were less enthusiastic than girls about seeing Disney’s “Pocahontas” or “Mulan,” two animated movies built around heroines. But girls were just as likely as boys to see “Aladdin,” “The Lion King” and “Toy Story,” which were dominated by male characters.
“Men [dismiss] a ‘women’s’ film as a chick flick,” Dergarabedian says. “Women see an action film as a movie.”

Good morning, bdj. On my way to brunch let me say that I completely agree with you. I have seen this so often over a life time it is quite disheartening and infuriating. However, it’s good to know that in the end, it’s usually the insecure ones who come out on the short end of life. I didn’t really how to handle women like that until my late 20s.
I have great respect for Joile and how she seems to have handled her life. There is much for young women to learn from her example. Anyone who can’t discern strong women from princesses are doomed. I’ll spare everyone my speech on the princess syndrome and be on my way. Enjoy the day.

Benjamin Button’ offers us lessons
There are many wonderful scenes in the “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” that touch on existential themes — what do you expect from a story about an infant born an old man who ages in reverse? But none is more lyrical and captivating than when Benjamin is summoned to the hospital to see his wife, Daisy.
“Sometimes we are on a collision course and we just don’t know,” says the narrator — Brad Pitt as Benjamin with a slight and slow Southern drawl.
“Whether it’s by accident or by design, there’s not a thing we can do about it.”
That part of the movie has stayed with me (that and Pitt’s face — a full screen of mesmerizing perfection).
It has remained with me, not only because I’m a sucker for Hollywood love stories that end in tragedy, but because the device of running all the minute, seemingly disparate events in reverse is something I do in my head all the time. If this hadn’t happened at this point in time, then this (fill-in-the-blank) wouldn’t have followed.
We probably all have escaped tragedy by some similar fluke. Or the opposite: We were the victim of something terrible because of one misstep, one missing link in the chain reaction of events. You forgot something and went to retrieve it. You decided to take a different route to work, or the flight was full, or the line was busy, or the office was closed that day.
We have all been on our own collision courses at one point or another, where time plays us like puppets, and fate pulls us toward some unknown consequence.
Near misses, unexpected opportunities and serendipitous meetings all leave questions begging. How much is planned and how much is mere coincidence? How much is random? How much could be predicted by statistics? How much is destiny? What about fate? How much should we hold ourselves accountable, and how much is out of our control?
Especially in these chaotic times where the economic crisis is toppling the financial sectors like dominos. Or when we casually hear the report of the cosmic near-miss last week when an asteroid passed by Earth, coming within 45,000 miles of our planet. When NBC anchor Brian Williams said that, if it had hit the Earth, the explosion would have been equivalent to two Hiroshima bombs, my husband said, almost as an afterthought: “Nothing like an asteroid to make you feel we’re so not in control, right?”
In the short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, which is darker and more cynical than the screenplay, Benjamin is more often despairing than he is content. He’s mistaken for being his father’s brother, then later pitied as a young man of 32 tied to a wife more than twice his age, and even later, he’s playmates with his own son.
But in both, the themes are the same, and we probably would do well to remind ourselves of the importance of living in the present. Time is an enigma, a human convention. As Benjamin says: “For what it’s worth, it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be.”

The problem with the biopic is the epic biopic—they are aware of their own contrived greatness. It’s not to say that they’re bad, just that they tend to try really hard. And the well-known faces of the actors become more infamous than the person they are playing.
But not A Mighty Heart.
It’s sad. It’s pure. It’s real. And it’s pretty damn good. And although Angelina Jolie’s face is one of the world’s best known, the film effortlessly glides through its scenes, unraveling the sad story of a true American hero. Maybe the reason is because the movie’s not about A-list celebrities like Ray Charles or the Cash/Carter-Cash duo, but a pair of journalists living in Pakistan. Or it could be that the film was adapted from the main character’s real-life memoirs that she wrote to tell the true story of what happened just a few months after 9/11.
Jolie plays this role superbly, as she usually does. Her talent to read a script and not only believably feel the words herself, but make the audience feel them too, is near unmatched by any other actor today. She proved herself ten years ago in her Oscar-winning performance for Girl, Interrupted, and has proven herself again in A Mighty Heart.
While some of the other actors, namely Futterman, weren’t on par with Jolie, her performance injects this biopic with the life it deserves, beautifully shedding light on true events. Between Jolie’s acting, some hand-held camerawork to add a little jar and some real-life footage including Colin Powell’s address of Daniel’s kidnapping—the film is one of the better biopics I’ve seen, because it doesn’t seem to be aware of its success. Termite art at its best. It doesn’t try to be grand or overzealous or too proud—and doesn’t need to reach to create drama. It just is what it is. Sad. Pure. Real. And pretty damn good.

Disney’s family adventure “Race to Witch Mountain” raced to the top of the box office chart, beating Warner Bros. holdover “Watchmen.”
Starring Dwayne Johnson and directed by Andy Fickman, “Witch Mountain”–a remake of the classic franchise–grossed $25 million from 3,187 theaters.
“Watchmen” dropped a hefty 67% from its opening weekend, grossing an estimated $18.1 million from 3,611 runs in its second sesh for a 10-day cume of $86 million.
Warners said the decline was in keeping with other event titles.
Rogue Pictures’ horror remake “The Last House on the Left” came in on the lower end of expectations. Pic, distributed by Universal, grossed $14.7 million from 2,401 runs.
Angelina will not be able to play the lead “sexy” role for much longer. Her face is looking drawn and gaunt. The photos of her body running “her legs” are almost grotesque looking.
