Taylor Swift: Let’s Not Talk About Sex!

Taylor Swift is positively breathtaking on the April 2009 cover of Allure. Here’s what the 19-year-old country cutie opened up about [via People]:

On not wanting to talk about sex: “It’s fine to talk about love publicly but I think when you talk about virginity and sex publicly, people just automatically picture you naked. And as much as I can prevent people picturing me naked, I’m going to.”

On a bad relationship being a point of inspiration: “Let’s say I date a guy who really does nothing but damage me. And you’ve spent time, you’ve spent effort, and you’ve put everything into trying to make that work. And it didn’t. So you write a song about it. It was worth everything if you write a song about it.”

On fairy tales being a big inspiration: “I have always been fascinated with fairy tales, and the idea that Prince Charming is just one castle away. And you’re gonna run across a field and meet each other in the middle, and have an amazing, perfect movie kiss. And it’s gonna be happily ever after.”

On a not-so-happy ending being more appealing: “For some reason, I could never, ever stop writing songs about heartbreak. Just because as human beings, what we can’t have is what we replay in our head over and over again before we go to sleep.”

She’s still young people - be nice, cut her some slack. She’s pretty even though her immaturity is showing.

I totally get what she is trying to say. Russell Brand said it too quoting someone else, that the whole claiming you a virgin and talking about sex is the same time. Claiming and talking about that your virgin to the whole world (like the Jonas Brothers and Britney back in the day) is just another way to sexualize yourself. It keeps people thinking about you and your relationship to sex. I totally agree with her.

Basically she’s saying :” focus on my music, not on my sexuality.”

Which is a very sensible thing to say since there’s just too much sex being thrown in our faces nowsdays.

I think those people taking issue with her Taylor’s statement don’t like her anyway and just want to find something to nitpick..

I think she talks to long on one thing I seen her being interviewed on cmt and she went on and on about her luckey NO.13 who cares

She is such an amazing, down to earth girl. <3
