OlderZac Efron: Good Morning, Melbourne!
Zac Efron speaks to fans and press at the premiere of his new film 17 Again at the Jam Factory in Melbourne, Australia on Monday morning (March 16).
While down under, the 21-year-old miracle worker talked a bit about his cougar fans. He shared, “There are a lot of young fans — they’re beautiful and they’re amazing — but it’s the moms that get absolutely crazy. There was one, I was at this signing and there were stairs you had to walk up and everyone was coming one at a time. There was this mom that was in a wheelchair and her daughter came up and got an autograph. And the mom was like, ‘I want one too,’ so she stands right up from the wheelchair and walks right up on stage. I was like, ‘Of course, you can have whatever you want.’ I signed like ten things for her and she walked back down, sat back in her wheelchair and rolled away.”

From all the many Zac Efron interviews I’ve seen over the years, Zac comes across as a very intelligent young man. And he says he is taking his time in choosing his next roles. That’s very wise.
I can’t say enough good things about this young man—how grounded and focused he is, how he values his relationship with Vanessa, how he values his family, and how sensible he is.
BUT
This young man is 21 and at the crossroads of his career. He should NOT still be marketed as a teen icon or for his surfer-boy good looks. He should not be showing up at red carpet events or interviews with that surfer-boy hairdo. That look was OK for the HSM movies and promotions, but as he transitions into more adult roles, he needs to look more like an adult.
Is no one on his team telling him this?
It seems that Zac’s current PR people are not giving him good advice. Or ANY advice. Are they just riding the wave of his success and collecting their money?
After seeing “Miracle Run” I know this guy has the acting skills. Someone needs to keep him focused on that fact and not on the “heartthrob” image. But his people seem to be trying to transition him from a sex object for tweenies to a sex object for older women—”moms” as he calls them. Not as an actor.
Maybe what Zac needs to do is take a step back and think seriously about hiring a PR firm that will focus on his acting. One that is savvy at helping him make that transition from teen idol to serious actor.

I don’t think he wears contacts a total fan those are his eyes. I’ve met many people who eyes change shades I think zac is one of them. I get what you’re saying malia maybe he does need a new pr team but zac is smart of enough to make good decisions about his career.
I’d like to wake up to that! That’s the breakfast of champions.

This was Monday evening in Melbourne, not Monday morning.
At first I thought this was about the debut of a new wax figure at Madame Tussauds
Many blue eyed people have their eye color change depending on light, what they’re wearing, and what’s in front of him. Color is about the reflection and absorption of light so obviously his eye color would depend on those factors.

Malia, I agree about his PR that making him a sex object is not
the way to go, if he wants a long career. His hair doesn’t bother me,
he is still very young and maybe he’s growing it out for a future project.
He is very talented and I’m hoping that he does a dramatic role next.
