Camilla Belle is West Side Story’s Maria
Camilla Belle takes on the role of Maria and helps re-create scenes from the beloved 1961 film version of West Side Story.
Vanity Fair really hit it on the nose with the casting. The 22-year-old Brazilian beauty received help from Tony (Ben Barnes, also known as Prince Caspian), Anita (Jennifer Lopez), Bernardo (Rodrigo Santoro) and fellow Sharks played by Brandon T. Jackson (Tropic Thunder) and Jay Hernandez (Grindhouse, Ladder 49). The Jets are played out by Chris Evans (Riff) and Cam Gigandet (The O.C., Twilight), Drake Bell (Nickelodeon’s Drake & Josh), and Robert Pattinson (Twilight).

Vanity fair shot this over 7 months ago. NOW of course Rob would be in the front and Barnes in the back. Vanity Fair shure got it wrong back then. Imagien if it was Camilla and Pattinson after all the pr stuff on them. Epic fair Vanity Fair.
Barnes look like a plank of wood. Since this was shot Barnes has failed with Easy Virtue and Prince Caspian and Pattinson is the huge film star. Pattinson would be a wonderful lead. he has a stunning voice.

terrible acting..camilla maybe …a belle,,,,,but as an actress ….even in pictures…she is a flop!!…..couldnt they have choosen someone better to fill the very big shoes of the original actress?????

cam gigandet should be in the front not ben and robert should not even be in the picture. people love edward not robert and we all know that to be true. cam is off doing other things, well once twilight ends robert isn’t going to be anything, just like eijah wood of lord of the rings. well cam gigandet got big with twilight is going of with lots of other films coming out. and that not just because he was kill in twilight remember he was chosen to play emmet but he went for james so he could have gone on with twilight. I just can;t see past the terrible teeth, bushy brows and that nose!! The “tweens” are just in love with the Edward Cullen character. I think Ben will definitely wow them with Dorian Gray and as Hamlet in Ophelia. Go Ben!!

Camilla Belle is gorgeous but she looks completely blank in these photos, hardly any emotion.
I urge all of you who liked this photo shoot to get a hold of the deluxe DVD version of the movie. There is an extraordinary ‘making of’ feature (much of it based on 8mm film shot during the filming) that I think is the very best “extra” ever included in a DVD package. Check your library if you can’t find it on Netflix.
I love Ben Barnes, but I think Robert and Camilla have better chemistry. I think Rob should have been Tony instead

Don’t hate me , Twilight fans but I think Barnes was a better choice as Tony than Rpatzz. He is not wayyyy famous like Pattinson but he always is fit and surprise me with his diferents looks. I could not even recognizer him. Very versatile guy. He isn’t a huge star but he is a rising actor.
If Rob were Tony , Its would suck or would be a Weird Twilight Story. XD Sorry, Rob is typecast as vampire Edward Cullen to me.

i don’t care that cam isn’t tony, come as long as cam is there i’m happy. rob is going to be stuck in twilight forever. cam while he was in twilight his moving on with lead roles in dramas, sci-fi, action, and is playing good guys. while he may always be remember as volchok from the oc and ben barnes as prince caspian, but they do chance it up with their movie. i mean even with cam as being the bad guy he does make each of the different. CAM GIGANDET and ben have great thing ahead in their career. CAM #1, ben is in there.
JLO is awful as Anita. I d pick another girl . Maybe Vanesa Hudgen or someone else. She dont like me but atleast she is young latin girl and dance very well. All rest cast is perfect!!

I think Camilla really has that youthful and innocent look of Maria, she would be a great pick if they actually did do a new movie…
