Angelina Jolie: Arrested!!!
Angelina Jolie is seen getting arrested, escorted away in handcuffs by New York’s finest on Tuesday (March 18) along Park Avenue in New York City.
The 33-year-old actress was shooting new scenes as raven-haired femme fatale Evelyn A. Salt for her upcoming spy flick Salt.
Salt is a CIA officer who is fingered as a Russian sleeper spy. Costar Liev Schreiber plays Salt’s boss and friend on the Russian desk at the CIA. Salt is out in 2010!

I knew that one picture of her making eye contact with a police officer was a poignant part of the film. Of course we don’t know if this is in the beginning, middle or end of the movie. I’m guessing it’s early on, but time will tell.

Uhhhh…X isn’t wearing wig in misManagement. That’s her hair. If you’re masochistic enough you can go back through Jared’s JA archive and find the photos from when she shot the movie in the fall of 2007. She filmed it after HJNTIY. I remember thinking at the time that she was stalking Brad because Brad is always changing his hair color movie roles. Suddenly Ms. “Natural-looking” Honey Blond dyes her hair a baby poop brown color…ho’s GOT to be making another bad romcom…
Yes Angelina is so bad azz, there will be twist and turns for sure. I also love how she does her own stunts and isn’t affraid to get dirty for these roles. Angie is NOT pregnant. There’s not an insurance company in the world that would underwrite an action movie where the studio or the director is allowing a pregnant woman to do her own stunts. If people think they see a bump …don’t you think the people actually standing NEXT to her for real would notice? Or how about the stunt coordinators who are strapping her into the harness so she can hang from the building? Sheesh.

Angie is NOT pregnant, she had twins and still has extra skin or fat around her tummy area. This you could clearly see in her pics in Japan when she wore the grey dress. She is simply a normal woman, who is comfortable in her own skin and does not need to prove anything by having surgery. Maybe after she films, but I think if anything they will adopt and have a bio child too. But not right now with the stunts she’s doing. I doubt the studio would take that kind of a chance!

Wow, I’m so excited about this movie. It seems like it has many twists to the story.
In some pictures, Angie’s all clean but in others, she and her arresting officers are covered in dirt. At first, I thought they might had a chase scene prior to the arrest, but I’m more inclined to think that there was an explosion of some sort.

Paramount Pictures has attached Brad Pitt and Natalie Portman to star in a film based on the new Leanne Shapton book “Important Artifacts and Personal Property from the Collection of Lenore Doolan and Harold Morris, Including Books, Street Fashion, and Jewelry.” The book was just published by Farrar Straus & Giroux.
Paramount won an auction for the book rights Tuesday night, with Pitt’s Plan B producing with Portman’s Handsomecharlie Films banner. Portman brought the book to Pitt, whose company is Par-based.
The book takes the form of Sotheby’s-like estate auction catalog, with 325 entries and photographs depicting items that reveal the private moments and the rise and fall of a four-year relationship between the fictitious couple Hal Morris (a 40ish photographer) and Lenore Doolan, (a New York Times food columnist in her late 20s).
The project will be developed as a romantic comedy, with Pitt to play Morris, and Portman to play Doolan.
Shapton, an illustrator and art director of the NYT’s Op-Ed page, uses items that range from clothes to notes, e-mails and heirlooms to convey the excitement, the hopes and dreams, and ultimately the heartache of a love affair that runs its course.
CAA brokered the deal.
Pitt, who’ll next be seen starring in the Quentin Tarantino-directed “Inglourious ********” and the Terence Malick-directed “The Tree of Life,” is expected to next star in the Steven Soderbergh-directed “Moneyball.” It’s the latest high-profile lit buy for his Plan B, which has James Gray writing to direct an adaptation of the just-published David Grann book “The Lost City of Z.” Earlier this week, Par acquired the John Le Carre novel “The Night Manager” for Pitt to produce.
Portman will next be seen in the Jim Sheridan-directed drama “Brothers.”
I don’t think seeing these still pictures reveal much about the story of the movie. I mean, yea, we know that there’s a chase scene, a funeral, and a wall climbing but we knew this was a CIA spy movie before the filming started so these are pretty much common in this type of movies. Besides, if the production company thinks they are the crucial parts, they won’t be shooting in public. That’s just my opinion.

well the idi0ts couldn’t understand that in filming a movie, they cut and insert the scenes. they thought the photo lastweek is the exact continuation of the next scene in the movie today so therefore they conclude that they can tell the plot of the story.

I would love Brad and Angie to do this movie, i think its high time that they should work again and should a rom-com or light drama.
I have seen Angie’s pics for SALT and I am just as confused as before. Releasing the pictures will not give the movies away. This is just a wiser way of marketing the film, giving you teasers here and there and making you want more, therefore making you feel like you have to go and see the movie. This is a simple formula and yet the trolls cannot comprehend this. How “surprising!”
I like Angie always have but have to say three cheers to Brad Pitt!!!!!. His production company from what i just read is now part of Paramount. How wonderful for him and Angie/family.

You know, there are no pics of her from Management set. Here is the first report about this movie - August 3 2007, then 17 days later she signed for Dog movie, and then in September and October she was filming HJNITY and Travelling. No pics with cut hair. She didn’t cut her “faboulous” hair. And considering the trailer (You have doomed me to torments :-D) it’s looks like wig and make up, something like Brad wears in BB.

I was really trying not to comment, but after reading some of your posts I had to. What is wrong with you people!!!! Why do you find it neccesary to insult not only these celebrities, but each other. I am so shocked at how hateful everyone here is. Do you really have nothing else in your lives to be passionate about? Celebrities should not bring out the worst in people. They entertain us. It’s not healthy. Please think of yourselves and how you come off.
I like the idea of Brad doing a romantic comic. Just think his last three movies have all been heavy dramas, CCoBB, Tree of Life, and IB. He probably feels like Angie did after doing AMH, and Changeling. She wanted to do something fun. So since she doesn’t do romantic comedies she did Wanted. For the nik pickers the order might be reverse, but the desire to do something fun was there.
Also Nathalie seems like a sensible young woman. She doesn’t seem like the type to go on a set and start some sh*t, just for the sake of starting drama. She isn’t a Paris, or Brittany type of person. They have nowhere else to go. Fugly’s hiding out since Star reported that the Urinator is writing a tell-all book about how she called him “Brad” in bed.
Regular visitors to numerous film sites are aware that many films have tons of production photos taken during the course of a movies’ filming.
Obviously the more interested the public is in the film or the actors involved, the more they are actually published on the net and elsewhere. To my knowledge it has never detracted from the public’s desire to see the film. If anything, it piques the public interest.
A few comments on various upthread posts. A long time ago I saw a number of pics of JA on the set of Management in that brown coat and with that ugly hair style. They were very unflattering photos - JA looked very homely so I doubt they were released by the studio - more like
pap shots.
Tom Cruise’s departure from Salt was not exactly “voluntarily.” There were a number of different excuses for his departure all providing sufficient, if not transparent, cover for his ego.

Although they can’t control it, this type of exposure will inevitably take a lot away from the suspense of the film, hopefully the studio scenes and special effects, coupled with the late release date, will counter that. Glad to see a woman take a lead action role and hope it’s does well and become the feminine Bourne Identity, it’s long overdue.

These photos will not take anything away from the film. Do any of you realize how much is cut from a film. It is possible that these scenes will not even make it to the final cut. Or they may have re shoots. We see stills all the time. But of course because it is a jolie movie the negative must come out. We have seen still from what? 3 maybe scenes from hundreds.
Stop all the harping. I will be at the theater opening day to see Salt.. and the same for IB and Tree of Life.. I don’t give a da** about how many stills are shown. You either plan on seeing the movie or not.

Vanessa Redgrave: The burning questions persist

Vanessa Redgrave need not wear an armband and raise a clenched fist to prove her continuing passion for social change. She has proven it time and again, in her campaign for human rights and political causes. The United Nations Ambassador for the Arts has been a magnet for controversy for her views on oppression, poverty and other stirring social issues.
But this is not enough to silence her. After all, when she talks, the whole world listens — for many reasons. First, she’s Vanessa Redgrave. Second, she expresses herself in the most articulate of ways. And third, because she has the powerful media of film and TV. At 71, Redgrave not gotten tired asking questions and showing solutions.
“Despite the wonderful efforts of people who really care, why do many people still have nothing? It’s an intolerable situation,” she laments.
Vanessa knows the United Nations has set a 2015 deadline to eradicate poverty, but she doubts if this dream will come true.
“We have everything at hand to be able to do it. But why isn’t it being done?” she asks. “Where are the people who can help (bring) change?”
She is not pointing the finger at anyone. Instead, she is helping find the answer in the best way she knows how: through The Fever, an HBO Original Movie that premieres Tuesday, Oct. 21, 9 p.m. on HBO.
In the film which her son Carlo Nero directs, Vanessa plays a nameless woman from London who, feeling a sense of disconnection from her comfortable life, travels to a poor country in the throes of civil war.
Redgrave may have not resorted to something as drastic as leaving the comforts of home to search for answers, but she can identify with the woman.
“I went to that journey of questioning my life,” she reveals. “I’ve always been involved in human rights, politics and the situation that bring people, families, communities and whole regions into terrible poverty. It was a journey I was personally involved with.”
Personally and passionately involved in, that is.
As the woman who slumps on the bathroom floor and asks herself questions about poverty, oppression, injustice and the like, Vanessa is voicing out the things she agonizes about to this day.
“This film represents everything I could have ever wished to try to find or express in my life as a woman and as an actress,” she declares.
Redgrave goes down to brass tacks: “We were dealing with something much bigger than ourselves, as big as everything we were ever concerned about: Racism, violence, repression, bravery, courage. Self-examination is the key to the story.”
You see searing images of poor people peering from dilapidated homes, roaming aimlessly in the streets. You watch, helpless as images of young, promising lives nipped in the bud through one deafening gunblast, flash onscreen.
It could be anywhere — Asia, Africa, the Middle East. The point is, the images disturb and shock.
You also writhe in pain as the woman, with blooded face and arms, asks why so many people suffer while others live in luxurious homes.
The questions beg for answers — swift, correct answers.
No wonder Redgrave says, “We made a pledge to ourselves that we will make this film and we wouldn’t give up.”
Talking right to the camera the way her character did may be new and hard, even for an Oscar winner like Redgrave.
“I had to learn. The most important thing is to really, really get close to your inner self and not act,” she says.
She got a lot of help from her director-son. Like his mother, Carlo believes in changing people’s perception of the world through film.
So he tirelessly traveled to four to five countries, looking for the right place to shoot those poverty scenes in.
“This film questions the very foundation of our society and civilization,” he relates. “How is it that so many people seem to have so little, virtually nothing, and so few have so much? Poverty, famine and disease should be things of the past.”
Yes, it’s another case of like mother, like son. The connection is so natural, Vanessa says it’s “a marriage made in heaven.”
Both knew “we were working on something bigger than ourselves.”
Vanessa and Carlo are not the only kindred spirits on the set. There’s Angelina Jolie, who plays a freedom fighter Redgrave meets in church. Jolie, herself admired for her staunch adherence to humanitarian causes, appears in many of the scenes. And Redgrave is more than pleased.
“Angelina was incredibly generous with her time. She’s a special woman,” raves Redgrave.
Together, they have come up with a film that dares question the scheme of things without blaming one person or group for the sorry shape it’s in. The unspoken message is, “Don’t just sit there doing nothing. Wake up, make a difference. There’s lots of work to do!”
Redgrave, Jolie and Nero are doing their part.

His last moments, caught on tape and released virally by his captors, incited uproar and horror. Following his death, Daniel’s widow, Mariane Pearl, published A Mighty Heart, a memoir recounting Daniel’s life and the pursuit of his murderers.
The moving story was adapted to the big screen in 2007, starring Angelina Jolie as Mariane Pearl and Dan Futterman as Daniel Pearl. Directed by Michael Winterbottom, the film focused on the search for Daniel following news of his kidnap.
The movie, which garnered three Independent Spirit Award nominations, will be shown at the Griffith Film Theater tonight as a preview to Mariane Pearl’s visit and lecture Tuesday. Sponsored by the Baldwin Scholars, Freewater Presentations, the Women’s Center and Pi Beta Phi sorority, among other organizations, the lecture features Pearl-an award-winning journalist in her own right-speaking about the ideals that inspired Daniel’s work and her experiences in the aftermath of his kidnapping.

March 19, 2009 — “Changeling” and “Gran Torino” directed by legendary movie star and Oscar winner Clint Eastwood are the latest additions to Blockbuster’s list of pre retail DVD releases. With both films still packing the cinemas nationwide this is a great opportunity to be one of the first to see them on DVD before they are sold in the shops.
Currently in pre-production on a Nelson Mandela biopic, his fifth film as director in the last four years, Clint Eastwood chats to Blockbuster about his latest box office hits and why he is still working at 78 years old.

“It’s been a long road”, acknowledges Eastwood. “One day you wake up and you’re 78 years old. I remember saying to my wife Dina, talking about Changeling and Gran Torino, ‘What am I doing? Directing and producing two pictures in a row, starring in one of them and writing music for both. What the hell am I doing it for?’ Then I started laughing. ‘Because I like it, that’s why!’ And I still learn something new every day.”
Based on a real life drama Changeling tells the story of a single mother working in 1928 Los Angeles when her son goes missing. A boy is returned to her months later by the police, but she is shocked and disheartened when she realizes that the boy isn’t her son. Joined by a crusading pastor she battles for justice against the corrupt L.A.P.D while she continues to search for her child.
Never one to drag out his casting decisions, Eastwood immediately opted for Angelina Jolie as soon as he heard that she had read the script and liked it. “I liked her as an actress and she’s a mother so I figured she’d understand her character. And she did an amazing job.”

In late summer 2005, the city of New Orleans suffered a horrific blow when Hurricane Katrina howled in from the Gulf of Mexico, inundating the 300-year-old city and severely crippling its infrastructure and its collective psyche. But if anything positive surfaced after Katrina, it’s that the storm gave New Orleans an opportunity to go green.
Crescent City transplant Brad Pitt has taken a high-profile role in rebuilding the poorest parts of the city, with a focus on energy efficient, eco-friendly affordable housing. And Global Green USA, an offshoot of Mikhail Gorbachev’s non-profit Green Cross International, also has made headlines with green reconstruction of devastated districts such as the Ninth Ward’s Holy Cross neighborhood.
Less known is the fact that post-Katrina NOLA has positioned itself to become one of the country’s national leaders in terms of green school construction - both in retrofitting old ones and building new ones. Turning rot and ruin into hope and rebirth, organizations like Global Green (GG) and the Clinton Climate Initiative are helping locals change the landscape of public education, one “brick” at a time.
The city is updating, retrofitting, renovating or constructing from scratch more than 25 public schools. Currently, at least ten are in varied stages of greenification in the city’s Recovery School District (RSD) and the Orleans Parish School District (ORSD), and several more have been tagged for major renovation or ground-up construction.
Many are getting a kick start from Global Green’s Green Seeds Schools Initiative - which offers $75,000 grants for retrofitting - such as A.P. Tureaud Elementary (pictured), circa 1939; Dr. Martin Luther King Elementary; and the recently relocated International School of Louisiana. Two others will be part of the nonprofit’s Model Green Schools program receiving around $300,000 each: Andrew H. Wilson Elementary, built in 1928, will be a major renovation project, and another new school will be started from scratch.

The world premiere of animation film Up from Disney/Pixar, will open the the 62nd Cannes Film Festival ceremony on Wednesday May 13 th, 2009.
Disney/Pixar’s animated UP will serve as the opening film of the Cannes Film Festival on May 13th, organisers announced Thursday morning. The world premiere will be screened in Disney Digital 3-D and marks the first animated film to ever open the festival. The festival representatives were unable to say if the film will be in competition or not.
The decision lays to rest speculation that Ron Howard’s Angels & Demons would do the opening honours. UP was widely tipped as a possibility, however, especially given festival director Thierry Fremaux’s penchant for animated fare.

Angelina Jolie has fought off stiff competition from Halle Berry and Kate Winslet to take the title of ‘Yummiest Mummy’ in a new poll.
In a questionnaire conducted by MSN.co.uk, readers were invited to name the hottest mum in Hollywood.
Clinching the top spot was Angelina with almost a third of the 50,000 votes cast in the week running up to Mother’s Day.
The mum-of-six beat a long list of Hollywood A-listers, including Halle Berry and Reese Witherspoon, who both came second place with 19% of the votes each.
Adding to her winning streak Kate Winslet came in third place with 15% of the votes and rumoured soon-to-be mum Katie Holmes finished fifth place with 5% of the votes.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” will keep retailers curious no longer: “Button” DVDs will hit stores May 5.
The “Button” plans were sewed up during the weekend, and Paramount will announce the home-entertainment release date Thursday. The Brad Pitt/Cate Blanchett-starring film won three Academy Awards and is among the last of the high-profile Oscar pictures to set a debut on home video.
In addition to its single-disc packaging, “Button” will be available on DVD and Blu-ray Disc in two-disc Criterion Edition sets featuring more than three hours of special features. A documentary on the second disc follows the creative development of the literary adaptation and its many production challenges, including the elaborate, Oscar-winning visual effects.
Single-disc “Button” DVDs will sell for $29.99 in the U.S. and $36.99 in Canada. Two-disc DVD and Blu-ray sets will be priced at $39.99 in the U.S. and $45.99 in Canada.

Angie was amazing as Christine Collins. She has played some very strong women in her day but her role as CC was magnificent.

I notice lately articles written about Brad say Brad Pitt actor and activist. Why don’t they say that about Angie? One time last yr. Angie said she would like to be remembered for more than her acting .

Films - THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON
Acting
Brad Pitt manages to deliver a thoughtful and subtle performance through all the special effects makeup and CGI. He does so much just by using his eyes. Cate Blanchett is equally fine as she plays Daisy from a teenager to an old woman and matches Pitt in bringing an entire lifetime skillfully to light. Her aging makeup is completely natural and she’s very moving in the hospital scenes opposite Ormond. Henson is just marvelous as Queenie, a warm and understanding soul. Swinton is elegant and memorable in her few crucial encounters with Ben and plays beautifully off Pitt. Jared Harris (TV’s The Riches) as the colorful Captain Mike, who hires Ben on his tug boat, and Flemyng (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen), as Ben’s father, are also effective in their brief screen time.
Direction
Interestingly, Benjamin Button has been gestating for decades in the Hollywood firmament but needed time for the proper technology to catch up to it. Director David Fincher (Zodiac, Fight Club) with his early background at George Lucas’ ILM, proves to be the perfect choice to marry a compelling story with spectacular visual effects achievement. He did not want to do the film unless the technology allowed one actor to play the role throughout the course of the film. Remarkably, they were able to achieve this superimposing Brad Pitt’s face and eyes into all the incarnations of Ben Button. In one sequence, Pitt looks just like he did in Thelma and Louise. It’s an amazing feat. He has seamlessly created a unique universe without ever bringing attention to it, advancing the art of screen storytelling leaps and bounds ahead of everything else that has come before. Benjamin Button is a plaintive and provocative meditation of life, death and what we do while we are here. It’s the stuff of dreams.

Brad Pitt is going back undercover. Variety reports that Paramount has nabbed the film rights to John Le Carre’s 1993 spy thriller “The Night Manager,” which Pitt’s company Plan B will produce.
Former Gulf War intelligence officer and Nicholls fellow Robert Edwards will adapt the critically acclaimed novel, which follows Jonathan Pine, the night manager of a Swiss hotel who’s recruited by a government agency to infiltrate the network of a dangerous international arms dealer named Richard Roper, a character of no relation to the famed film critic.
No word on whether Pitt will star in the film but here’s hoping that IF he does, it’ll turn out closer to “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” than “Spy Game” or “Burn After Reading.”
Of course, Pitt will star in Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious ********” this August, as well as Terrence Malick’s “The Tree of Life.” He’s also been rumored for roles in “Moneyball” and “The Odyssey.”
“The Night Manager” was Le Carre’s first post-Cold War novel. Other Le Carre books that have been brought to the bigscreen include “The Tailor of Panama” and more successfully, “The Constant Gardener.” Fun Fact: I did coverage on Le Carre’s “The Mission Song” for another Paramount-based production company and I did not like it.
Meanwhile, it doesn’t take an intelligence officer to recognize that spy movies are all the rage now. Julia Roberts and Clive Owen’s “Duplicity” opens on Friday. Matt Damon is awaiting the script for the fourth film in the Bourne franchise. Angelina Jolie is about to start shooting “Salt,” which was originally a vehicle for Tom Cruise, who has now moved on to Robert Ludlum’s “The Matarese Circle,” which will also star Denzel Washington. Are you sensing a pattern here?

Curiously enough, this sentiment seems to echo what Tate Donovan said about Aniston following their split. I was just outside with my dog, (I call him X……..not really :)) ….and my neighbour’s dog was also out on the lawn so while the dogs played, we talked about Spring Break……this week the kids are off school for the week, so I asked what they did with the kids on their time off.
She said they went skiing at Mont Tremblant….naturally I asked if they were there when Natasha was hurt……….and she said she witnessed the fall.
Now CNN reported that Natasha fell in wet snow….not exactly. She was on a bunny hill with her ski coach and she skied into a TREE. Now that makes much more sense. I could not understand how she could be so severely injured falling in wet snow.
My neighbour (who is a New Yorker who married a Canadian) said she watched her ski right into the tree. So now I understand also why ski patrol were ‘insisting’ she go to the hospital and called an ambulance…she refused and apparently signed a waiver stating her refusal.
Devastatinlgy sad for her young, about to be teens, boys, Liam and her family. .
