Pitt, Portman to star in ‘Artifacts’
Paramount film based on Shapton book

Paramount Pictures has attached Brad Pitt and Natalie Portman to star in a film based on the new Leanne Shapton book “Important Artifacts and Personal Property from the Collection of Lenore Doolan and Harold Morris, Including Books, Street Fashion, and Jewelry.” The book was just published by Farrar Straus & Giroux.
Paramount won an auction for the book rights Tuesday night, with Pitt’s Plan B producing with Portman’s Handsomecharlie Films banner. Portman brought the book to Pitt, whose company is Par-based.

The book takes the form of Sotheby’s-like estate auction catalog, with 325 entries and photographs depicting items that reveal the private moments and the rise and fall of a four-year relationship between the fictitious couple Hal Morris (a 40ish photographer) and Lenore Doolan, (a New York Times food columnist in her late 20s).

The project will be developed as a romantic comedy, with Pitt to play Morris, and Portman to play Doolan.

Shapton, an illustrator and art director of the NYT’s Op-Ed page, uses items that range from clothes to notes, e-mails and heirlooms to convey the excitement, the hopes and dreams, and ultimately the heartache of a love affair that runs its course.

CAA brokered the deal.

Pitt, who’ll next be seen starring in the Quentin Tarantino-directed “Inglourious ********” and the Terence Malick-directed “The Tree of Life,” is expected to next star in the Steven Soderbergh-directed “Moneyball.” It’s the latest high-profile lit buy for his Plan B, which has James Gray writing to direct an adaptation of the just-published David Grann book “The Lost City of Z.” Earlier this week, Par acquired the John Le Carre novel “The Night Manager” for Pitt to produce.

Portman will next be seen in the Jim Sheridan-directed drama “Brothers.”

I don’t think seeing these still pictures reveal much about the story of the movie.

well the idi0ts couldn’t understand that in filming a movie, they cut and insert the scenes. they thought the photo lastweek is the exact continuation of the next scene in the movie today so therefore they conclude that they can tell the plot of the story.

I have seen Angie’s pics for SALT and I am just as confused as before. Releasing the pictures will not give the movies away. This is just a wiser way of marketing the film, giving you teasers here and there and making you want more, therefore making you feel like you have to go and see the movie. This is a simple formula and yet the trolls cannot comprehend this. How “surprising!”

I’m pretty sure it was her real hair. Like I said - if you can stomach looking at pix of her, check Jared’s archive from the fall of 2007. She’d cut her hair and dyed it just before doing that flick. BTW - You can’t tell based on the ho’s hairline because she’s got a funky hairline anyway from where she had it adjusted years ago. You can clearly see a band of skin that’s lighter than the rest of her leather fug face - year round.

As for not cutting her hair - sure she does. She had it cut during promotion for TDF and then had extensions put in for the premiere. I remember 4Q and I made fun of it at the time because 2 days earlier there were pix of X with her hair just below her shoulders…and then she showed up at the premiere with hair over her boobs…EXACTLY the length of Angie’s hair at the NYFF Changeling premiere. A few days later there were more pix of her (damn Jared anyway!) and her hair was 6 inches shorter again…stalking, stalking, stalking…

Congratulations to Brad, his Plan B is really working. :)

Well yeah, i was checking jared archive. :-D
You know, there are no pics of her from Management set. Here is the first report about this movie - August 3 2007, then 17 days later she signed for Dog movie, and then in September and October she was filming HJNITY and Travelling. No pics with cut hair. She didn’t cut her “faboulous” hair. And considering the trailer (You have doomed me to torments :-D) it’s looks like wig and make up, something like Brad wears in BB.
