Brad Pitt & Natalie Portman: ‘Artifacts’ Couple
Brad Pitt and Natalie Portman are coupling up to star in the silver screen adaptation of the new Leanne Shapton book “Important Artifacts and Personal Property from the Collection of Lenore Doolan and Harold Morris, Including Books, Street Fashion, and Jewelry.”
Whew, that was a mouthful.
According to Variety, Nat brought the book to Brad, whose production company Plan B will be producing with Nat’s Handsomecharlie Films.
Wow, what a way to take control!
The project will be developed as a romantic comedy, with Brad playing Morris and Nat playing Doolan.

I know nothing about the book but I think Brad is way too old to play in a romcom with Natalie Portman. I love them both but I just don’t see the pairing as a good one. Of course, the book could be about something totally different and not about them being lovers. Brad usually plays opposite women closer to his age (Cate, for instance). Anyway, I’ll wait to pass judgment. They are both good actors so the movie can’t be all that bad.
P.S.: Natalie is an orthodox Jew and would never have a non-Jew as a mate, even if it would be just for a fling.
Both Brad and Natalie are gorgeous and very fine actors. This film will be fantastic.
@Oath
Natalie not beautiful? Ok, now I’m curious. Who would you consider pretty? Brad is 45, how do you want him to look? Like Zac Efron? I know Brad’s looks been compared to the Greek’s God. But! He is only human. Therefore, will age with time. DUH! Personally, I think he looks better now. Perfect fine wine!
@50
she dated Jake, there pictures of them going out and him bringing her flowers and she did dump him.
@51
Have you lost you mind, Natalie has never been an orthodox jew, she works and parties on Saturdays, she dated mostly Christian guys, what you are talking about! She celebrated Christmas with Britney Spears.
YOU PEOPLE DON’T KNOW ANYTHING.
@ Oath
Natalie is the most beautiful woman in Hollywood today, and the only reason she is more beautiful than Angie, and I love Angie more than anything, but Natalie is younger and you can’t beat youth.
She is an orthodox Jew…..do the research folks! And so what!
The book takes the form of Sotheby’s-like estate auction catalog, with 325 entries and photographs depicting items that reveal the private moments and the rise and fall of a four-year relationship between the fictitious couple Hal Morris (a 40ish photographer) and Lenore Doolan, (a New York Times food columnist in her late 20s).
+++++++
Brad plays Morris. Natalie plays Doolan. They are perfect for this movie.
jack: they were not dating, they were just hanging out.
Check out Amazon review, these two are perfectly suited for these roles. Am excited after I checked it out!
“[Shapton's] book tells the story of a hopeful young New York couple and their four-year relationship almost completely through their things, many of which end up unceremoniously, and improbably, under the gavel: books, pajamas, bedside lamps, a stuffed squirrel, an astrakhan coat, the winning half of a wishbone and lots of notes, inscriptions and e-mail messages that start out giddy and become slowly more complicated, angry and sorrowful. “If there were a real failed-relationship auction house named Strachan & Quinn, where the sale is supposed to take place on Valentine’s Day, the event might actually draw a modest crowd, if only because the fictional Hal Morris, a globe-trotting photographer in his early 40s, and Lenore Doolan, who is presented as a late-20s cake columnist for The Times’s Dining section, are generally more meticulous than conspicuous in their consumption.”
It sound very interesting.Congrats to Brad and plan B.
She may have dated Jake. Jake is Jewish…so he is accepted in a strict Jewish family like hers. Natalie Hershlag is her birth name…born in Israel, etc.
# 51 mslewis @ 03/18/2009 at 1:58 pm ..From reading a few of the “editorial reviews” this book DOESN”T sound like a rom-com.It actually sounds like a interesting book.
One of the editorial reviews………..
Auction catalogs can tell you a lot about a person—their passions and vanities, peccadilloes and aesthetics; their flush years and lean. Think of the collections of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Truman Capote, the Duke and Duchess of Windsor.
In Leanne Shapton’s marvelously inventive and invented auction catalog, the 325 lots up for auction are what remain from the relationship between Lenore Doolan and Harold Morris (who aren’t real people, but might as well be). Through photographs of the couple’s personal effects—the usual auction items (jewelry, fine art, and rare furniture) and the seemingly worthless (pajamas, Post-it notes, worn paperbacks)—the story of a failed love affair vividly (and cleverly) emerges. From first meeting to final separation, the progress and rituals of intimacy are revealed through the couple’s accumulated relics and memorabilia. And a love story, in all its tenderness and struggle, emerges from the evidence that has been left behind, laid out for us to appraise and appreciate.
The book IS ABOUT AN OLDER MAN and YOUNGER WOMAN. Geez you guys, get real. Like in real life handsome older men don’t get the younger girls.

The trolls are using the “men” names. :lol:
My fave movie of Natalie’s is Beautiful Girls. She tempted Timothy Huton in that one.
I think she is so pretty.
Rotflmao @ 03/18/2009 at 1:54 pm this only shows he can play anything action,drama,comedy’s,sifi.
Brad is such a talented actor. Angie is his muse.
A good movie in the making.
Brad is so handsome and Natalie is a good actress and a sweet girl.
A little hair dye and clean shaven and he could most definitly play Portmans’s love interest. I can see him playing the part. Another J-P movie worth waiting for. But that is the difference between A-list actors and other actors. Script are brought to them, A-list does not have to audition.
Great!
Love Nat and Brad.
I love the trolls and their pea brain arguments. Like their queen just didn’t get dumped in a year long relationship with a guy 9 years her junior.
Rotflmao @ 03/18/2009 at 1:54 pm I know. Remember when Angelina said she hoped that they would BOTH take some time off to spend with their children? You guys love using her quotes but I bet you want to make that one disappear. He doesn’t want to raise his children he would rather use his production company has a way to star in films that he otherwise would not get.

At least he’s finally going for what he was meant to do… ROM-COMS! Rom- coms is what fits his style of acting. BAD!

She said she would HOPE….She didn’t say it was definite and that they were going to take time off.
“she dated Jake, there pictures of them going out and him bringing her flowers and she did dump him. ”
Jake and Nat never dated, they are friends since 1997.
“When Jake was 16, he and the family would be invited to a 51st birthday party for President Clinton, hosted by the recently married Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen. Jake would here forge a close friendship with First Daughter Chelsea Clinton, his other buddies including Natalie Portman and Bryce Dallas Howard. “
Love Natalie and the prospects of this film. Great! Great! Great!
It’s OVER!! @ 03/18/2009 at 2:43 pm Now who wants to bet ….

Who wants to bet that you smoke enough crack that you forgot that you post the same exact thing about every single woman Brad is in a movie with?
