While searching for that quote from X about David Copperfield/Claudia Schiffer I found the reader letters in response to the Vogue article on X last year. These letters cracked me up. Even one of the positive letters said Vogue sucked for putting that “uncool” quote on the cover.

Normally I’d provide the link so the trolls don’t accuse me of fabrication, but I can’t do that this time because I’m using a newspaper and magazine database available through the University’s library for “research” purposes. However, if go to the newsstand and pick up the MARCH 2009 issue of Vogue, the letters are in it.

“Prime Time,” photographed by Craig McDean, December 2008] really brought out the sense of self and character the actress possesses. My experience of reading the article was marred only by a seemingly tantalizing quote highlighted on the cover. What surprised me is that it was picked from among all the strong and positive statements the actress made. While the profile brought out the self-reflective Aniston, the magazine chose to incite gossip and cattiness with its cover line. As a publication that promotes beauty and strength, VOGUE could have done better for its readers. The choice “was very uncool.”

When I received my December issue, my first reaction was “Yuck! Another cover of Jennifer Aniston?” Most of us who subscribe to your magazine do it for the fashion, interesting articles, and advice—whether it be about skin, hair, wardrobe, or gifts—not the celebrity on the cover. Perhaps those cover subjects attract onetime buyers, but your faithful readers are tired of seeing the same old starlet faces.

As a busy businesswoman with a sense of style, I love picking up VOGUE for a bit of escape once a month. This is my treat and a great source of information on fascinating and dynamic women in the world. I hesitated, however, when I saw that Jennifer Aniston was the cover model for December. I am sure I speak for others as well as myself when I say I am completely exhausted by this woman and her sad musings about love and life. When she moves on and finds something meaningful to say, we will all be willing to listen. Until then, please save the cover and articles for strong women who are capable of accepting the cards they have been dealt and moving forward to a more meaningful sense of self.

VOGUE is too intelligent and classy a magazine to rehash a dead story about Jennifer Aniston’s failed marriage to Brad Pitt and how it was all Angelina Jolie’s fault. I previously thought of Aniston as a wholesome girl next door, but for her to continue to blame Jolie for her divorce is not only pitiful but uninteresting.

These trolls and fanistons are so pathetic. They are just jealous that Brad and Angie, despite the hatchet job that the ex-pee girl tried to do on them, are thriving personally and professionally. While their idol, who was so hell-bent in having a movie career to the point of sacrificing husband and future children, is stuck trying to be a Bond girl and doing “The Baster” .

My advice - don’t make any bets with DJ. I’m thinking about taking up a collection and sending her to Vegas because chances are - she’ll be run out of town by the mob…literally. She’d be at the craps table trying to take her bet back between the dice leaving her hand and hitting the table. Or she’d have her blackjack cards half turned over and then try to pull her bet pack. And forget slot machines. She’d have the quarters in a retractable wire and after she puts them in the machine she’d try to yank them back out as she pulls the lever. Homegirl just needs to say away from gambling…

I love Natalie and Brad together too. Let them run away, so what. Angie probably won’t miss him with all the kids she has got.

Great potential in this. I love Natalie Portman. She’ll be great with Brad. I remember how sexy and sweet she was in that movie where she played the teenager next door (jail bait but still perfect for the older star) in that movie with Rosie O’Donnell and IIRC Uma Thurman - maybe Beautiful Girls?

I’ll love seeing Brad do a sexy, romantic comedy. Older man -younger woman or older woman - younger man. If someone can’t see the eroticism and allure in just the age gap itself then they are too young for real, real sex. LOL!

Brad is in love with Angie. For anyone who knows what being in love is all about it won’t matter who he acts with Brad is Angies man.

There is not a hell of alot the trolls can say anymore if anything that makes any sense. They keep wishing hoping dreaming praying to the devil for a Jolie Pitt break up for four years and counting.

Never happens and the JP’s continue to be Hollywoods Most Impressive Couple.
