Lindsay Lohan takes the cover of the April 2009 issue of Nylon Magazine and talks about Samantha Ronson, Britney Spears, and her future in the industry.
On Samantha Ronson:
Samantha and I have been living together… and I finally found this great new house in LA – so now we’re closer to each other. It’s literally around the block… I got my license back a week and a half ago. That was a big deal. It’s [restricted], but it just feels so good.
On Britney Spears:
She’s marketed as an entertainer, which is what she is. Not necessarily as, like, an artist. And I respect that about her, cause she doesn’t want to pretend.
On her future:
I’m talking to [lots of people]. One is Sean Penn – I spoke to him again the other day. We’re trying to get Seth Rogen for this project, but Seth won’t call us back. So call us back, Seth, if you’re reading this!

Why is she on the cover?
I love this magazine but why did they put her on it? Just look at how she answers the questions…like about her just getting her license but its restricted…yeah for all the bad things you have done.

It seems all this girl can do these days is host parties and get on magazines in sleezy, not sexy poses. The girl obviously has no substance and hasn’t grown as a person, which means she can’t have grown as an actress *snort* Sad. Where exactly does she think getting on magazine covers is going to get her? How ’bout just straightening up your crazy-ass life, because otherwise, magazine covers and interviews aren’t going to do a thing for you.

i like lohan. she is an individual and she seems to live her life on her own accord which makes her unique in world where most actresses are prepackaged to be like someone else. the fact that she is flawed just makes her more real. i do hope she’ll get back to acting soon as i thought she was really talented back in the day. and in some respects she has more balls then the rest of gay/bi hollywood put together for living opnely with her girlfriend at such a young age.kudos.

There’s not much I can do about the fact that I’ve become a kind of tabloid obsession. I can’t change that. And yes, the websites, the gossip pages, and all of that stuff have hurt my career – they’re like the Burn Books of Hollywood… but I really don’t feel like I should have to prove myself to anyone because of living out my college years in the public eye. I’m glad everything happened the way it did.

First. I like the pics. She’s very photogenic, I’ll give her that. She used to have talent too.
Second. The interview: What a backhanded slap at B. Spears. She’s an entertainer and that’s cool. Seems like she’s implying that they’re nothing alike. That Brit is simply an entertainer and Lindsay is an artist and, therefore, nothing like Brit. Yeah, right. Both are trainwrecks. It’s just Britney’s family stepped in to stop the wreckage from getting worse and get her some help b/c she wouldn’t help herself. And Brit still has a career, not sure if that’s good or bad, but she’s still on a sold out tour and getting pretty good reviews for her show. Lindsay seems like she’s known for being a celebrity and that’s it. She doesn’t seem to do anything other than get photographed–either by the paps or in some woman’s mag.
I can’t believe she’s blaming the paps and tabloids for hurting her career. It couldn’t possibly be the three turns in rehab before 22, the arrests, the lawsuits, the public brawls with her girlfriend, showing up late on set, being fired from her first post-rehab job because of her attitude. And now as a result she’s totally uninsurable and undependable as an artist and box office commodity.
She/Her people are the ones who call the paps and let them know where she would be and still do that to this day. Those comments seem hypocritical, especially when she’s still pimping her relationship and every move to the tabs/paps.
I guess it’s good that she decided that she doesn’t have anything to prove to anyone because of it. However, she totally seems to skirt the plain fact that if she didn’t play out every aspect of her life for the paps, even with all of these personal demons she had in her life–like addictions and rehab, then she probably wouldn’t have all of these career issues now. Johnathon Rhys-Myers has been in rehab just as many times as Lindsay, if not more than she has, but he’s still bankable and insurable and therefore still working even with all of his addiction issues.
