Nicole Kidman Joins Woody Allen Film

Nicole Kidman has been confirmed to join Woody Allen’s next film, according to Variety.

The cast already includes: Slumdog Millionaire actress Freida Pinto, Anthony Hopkins, Naomi Watts, Antonio Banderas and Josh Brolin.

The film is currently untitled and will be produced by Letty Aronson, Steve Tenenbaum and Jaume Roures.

Woody’s next film, Whatever Works, is backed by Sony Pictures Classics and will be released in theaters on June 19.

I actually think it’s a good idea that Kidman’s next couple of films be ensemble pieces. It allows for the film not completely rest on her shoulders. Anyway, hopefully this will be excellent, because the cast certainly is.

I’m so happy that Kidman is picking interesting projects with some great directors, as she always does. It’s always good to work with someone like Woody Allen, regardless of how the film fares.

She has hardly done any work since Sunday arrived. She finished up the publicity for Australia. Did a few weeks of work for an ensemble cast in Nine. And this is also an ensemble cast–so it will only be a few weeks.

Since Sunday Rose is almost 9 months and she has been home with her most of that, I hardly think she is working 24/7. And she appears to be enjoying her time with her baby.

And why should someone with her talent stay away? Women all over the world leave their babies with sitters, day care etc. because they want to work or have to work. Nicole can afford the best in care for Sunday and if what I read was true–Sunday was with her for most of the Australia promotions and for her filming of Nine.

So what’s the big deal…except to be a lemming and criticize because everyone else does it.

Yay, I love Woody Allen movies. I am excited for Freida… what a gorgeous woman. Indian women are stunning!! I think they are the most beautiful along with Latin/Italian/Middle eastern women…

Oh please dabu. Kidman has worked at least 10+ weeks on Nine. Her rehearsal time alone in London was over 6 weeks. She went back to work 4 weeks after having that baby. And let’s not forget all the traveling she did for Australia. Now she’s been in India for a week without husband & baby for a stupid commercial. This film is suppsed to film this summer in London. Pretty incensitive of her considering her husband has a tour scheduled with no breaks to visit a movie set in London. All her so called retirement talk was just to grab the headlines. Typical Kidman behavior. Just like holding her belly to get the pregnancy talk going again the weekend before the DVD for Australia came out.
