Zac Efron: No More Musicals
Zac Efron stops by his hotel in London and signs some autographs for his waiting fans on Wednesday (March 25).
The actor has been shying away from musicals and is currently pursuing more mature roles. After dropping out of being a part of the Footloose remake, Efron is seeking to play a cemetery keeper in The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud.
The High School Musical star will also appear in a more serious role for Me and Orson Welles where Efron plays a teen in a production of Julius Caeser, directed by a young Orson Welles. The movie will hit theaters later this year.

Zac is more humble than most guys his age can ever be. RP are you kidding, that guy is so far up himself he has yet to find a way down. All he can talk about is how crap an actor he is, and how he doesn’t shower. Thrilling. All the self depreicating English crap gets very boring, very quickly.
Zac is talented, immensley so. He is taking his time, and picking out his next project with care. HSM made him known, but he has never cared about the fame, he cares about the work. Hence why he turned down the easy option of Footloose, and I could not be more proud of him. In one swift move he has shown that it is definatley not about the money, nor the fame, it’s all about the work and being happy with what you do, and that is why Zac, and V will be fine. Besides that, before HSM he was always in drama roles, it’s what he is good at. If Death and Life is on the cards, he will be an amazing Charlie. Yes he is good in musicals, but he can’t help that. He is multi-talented, and obviously so, he just wants to try other things, and suceed he will. Everyone starts somewhere. I don’t think Leo is anything to shout about, and don’t start me on Brad, Zac has said he admires people like Brad and Leo, but he has never stated that he thinks he is like them. He knows he has to work on his craft, and he is more than committed to doing so. He is dedicated and hard working, he has such presense and the ability to go so far in whatever he chooses to do. Both he and V are good people, dedicated to one another, their families and their job. They are two amazing young actors, truly wonderful to see them learn and grow.

You are completely transparent with your agenda. Stop trying to act like you know anything about how either of them are. Such sweet ignorance. And such self righteousness too, seeing as how you think you can speak for millions of people and the industry itself. It sure is funny how despite all senseless **** you have been saying about Zac you just can’t help being obsessed with him. Following his every word, every move. Go do something with your life you pathetic warped weasel.
This is an excellent move for him. He has a lot of good things coming for him in the future. Good guy and talented.
I think it’s a good move for him too, for now. He really wants to develop his acting skills and move into more dramatic and adult roles, so that’s what he needs to focus on. The only way to gain respect in that business is to work, improve, and stay humble. I think he’s got what it takes.
But I gotta say, I will certainly miss his singing and dancing. He’s gotten pretty good at both!! At some point, he may go back to a musical, but it’s best for him to keep his focus right now!!

Robert Pattinson is objectively ugly. No one has realized that because as the philosopher Kojeve believes, we desire what others desire - it is the desire of prestige. As soon as a few people realize he is ugly and stop wanting him, so will everybody else. Do not look to Pattinson for recognition - you are only looking at your former self.
Look not at Chase Crawford, who is way hotter than you. You’ll only hate yourself.
Look at Johnny Depp, You want longevity? Follow Depp - learn Depp - make Depp a character and become Depp through method acting. Then you will know the secret of success, of transition from hottness into hot actor.

…I don’t get why some people are comparing Zac Efron and Robert Pattinson together…this IS a Zac Efron post, right ? …Yeah it is.
I’d like to say that I have been a fan of Zachary David Alexander Efron since the beginning. When I first saw him in Summerland, I have been a fan. And I’m not letting go of him, I think he’s actually making a good choice, he’s been doing musicals since he was in middle school so he’s just probably taking a break from them, who knows what could happen in the future. Whatever decision he makes, I’ll always support him cause he’s that amazing.
…And uh, #18, why the HELL would he be JEALOUS of Robert Pattinson !? That’s freakin stupid. If anyone’s jealous, it’s Joe Jonas. Joe’s wearing Zac’s beanie and wearing Robert’s clothes, so that more kiddie girls will go gaga over him just like Zachary and Robert. Yes, even though this post has NOTHING to do with Joe, I’m stating my opinion.
Good move on the part of Zac. I suspect that he took on HSM 3 because firstly, Vanessa was in it and Secondly, the rest of the cast depended on him. He has come to his senses that he needs to break away from musicals for now to be taken seriously as an actor. Footloose is a remake and I think anyone filling in Kevin Bacon’s shoes has to measure up which is a tough act to follow. How much can one alter an already successful script.? I’m not surprised at all that Zac was disappointed with the outcome.
Number 18 for your information Zac isn’t and never has been jealous of any other actor,he thinks all of them are awesome actors and none of them are anybetter of a person than he is and he never says they are. He is an awesome young man and if you knew him as well as Nessa as I do you would know that,but oh I forgot you DON’T know them or talk to them so you need to knock off your badmouthing him. If he wasn’t as good an actor as he has become he wouldn’t be getting all these fantastic movie offers,but he IS getting them so I guess that says alot about him! RIGHT? For all of you that don’t like Zac or Nessa,why don’t you stop even commenting and keep your foul mouths and rude and down right filthy name calling to yourselves. I’m a 55 year old mom and I personally know these kids and talk to them all the time when they aren’t filming a movie or whatever. It’s your loss not mine,but knock off the slandering and name calling! GROW UP!!
Nessa and Zac are the two main characters that help make HSM the phenominal success it became and still is. Now they are all moving on to bigger and better more adult roles. Just be nice on here there are young kids that read these comments,remember that ok?
