Mercy Comes to Madonna
Malawi officials have confirmed that Madonna is adopting 3-year-old Mercy James.
“The adoption is going ahead. It has been at an advanced stage for some time,” said Malawi’s Director of Child Welfare Services, Penstone Kilembe to UsWeekly.
Mercy is from the “Mchinji Home of Hope orphanage. She has no father and mother, they both died…We finished the assessment yesterday in readiness for the courts next week,” said an official at the ministry of Gender and Child Development to Reuters.

Do not put celebrities and the ordinary Joe in the same boat. Celebrities are corrupted because their career depends on selling their image and once they start making money they always want to make more (eye roll) Madonna is just a self-ish hag who does n’t deserve those babies. She cannot provide a stable home to these kids, as she’s parading men in her life like a revolving door. Don’t forget how much she spends time sculpting her vein-popping body and touring for the last dollar even if she has millions stashed away already. When does she have time for being a mother, except when she ’s photographed goin to kabalah service? I question the moral values of that church, as i see how a prominent member behaves!
in your original post you were mentioning different things, and I addressed this:
What good has she done taking one more child, while she discriminates on hundred others left in the home or the thousands all over the entire Malwai for that matter?
If the celebrities were not buying on what’s ‘in’, i would believe they would finance a larger scale project rather than take one baby as an accessory to be photographed with when they return to the US.
I guess that some peopel have adopted kids for the wrong reasons, gosh, even a brother of mine , who I am ashamed for, used to be a foster parent just for the money, and was receiving money for a girl he adopted with his then wife, and when they divorced, they gave the girl away… This happened in the USA, BTW.

The point for me is that even with all that, the kid has a family and a better opportunity. REad the second article I suggested. It is interesting.
She seems to be doing a good job with little David. No reason she shouldn’t adopt another child. Good for her.
Like someone said above…..It’s easy adopting kids but she will get her nanny(ies) to take care of those spoiled brats.

Madonnas kids are educated, loving, artistic, open-minded, free to be who they are, and are taught the real basics of the human condition by Madonna. A rich man would never be told you shouldnt have nannies. In fact Ive never seen a rich man doing it all on his own, raising a healthy family and, bringing in more needy children, and having a thriving successful career. Madonna should be applaueded, shes using her time and energy for important things in life, she doesnt go out and party, shes not into the hollywood scence, she doesnt drink, Look how good she is at handling stress in fact, you never know when shes stressed in fact, She has great emotional muscle, is very level headed and focused. In Malawi shes already made an orphanage for needy children and now shes building a school for girls.
I dont get how some feel they have the right to tell someone who wants to adopt, where they can adopt from. What business is it of yours, and how do you know what the thought process is for that. Obviously shes bringing children who would never be American citizens or who would have the chance to live the American Dream shes actually providing it for two human beings who otherwise would be left in orphanages for the rest of their life.
Im just really impressed how Madonna stays focused and on track despite the naysayers.
She’s wise to listen to the Malawians regarding the adoption of another child on behalf of little David so he/they can share a stronger bond within the family dynamics (she as a single mother) since the other children have individual birth fathers who are participating in their lives.
Now that Madonna has experienced and moved through her midlife crisis she appears to be returning to her philanthropy.
Madonna is such a publicity *****! She does not care about anyone but herself and her image.

actually, I’m happy to know she didn’t change her mind on adopting another child besides Mercy! This child was the one she wanted to adopt right after she adopted david! She might of promised little Mercy she was going to be her new mommy! @ least madonna stood by her word and is going to take Mercy home as she intended to. I’m mean how awful would that be if you were an orphan and someone tells you i’m going to adopt you & adopt a different kid? If she adopts anyone i’m happy it’s going to be Mercy because this is the little girl she wanted for a long time♥

Whilst I don’t disagree with international adoption, the fact still remains that this is a 50 year old woman, who’s just settling her and her current family in to a post-divorced situation, taking a child from a country she knows.
Being adopted is hard to adjust to anyway, finding your place in the family and everything that comes with it. Currently Davids family tree gets more complicated by the hour “So… I have one biological father - he lives in malawi, one adoptive mother - she live in America, one adoptive father - he lives in UK, one adoptive sister who is half siblings with my adoptive brother who is the biological son of my adoptive father, and one adoptive half sister who is nothing to do with my father, nothing to do with my adoptive sister’s father and the jury’s still out on whether she has a biological father”

No family is perfect, but children don’t have a say of which one they can be in. In this case Madonna does have a choice, Mercy does not. Adoption has to be 100% selfless or just don’t do it because believe me - it;s enough to come to terms with to know that you can’t be with your biological parents anymore (whether they are dead or just couldn’t look after you)
I don’t think that just because a celebrity can offer a child any material possession in the world automatically makes you a great parent.

Madonna disgusts me. I understand people’s initial feeling of… what a wonderful thing she is doing, but… come on, wake up people!! Has society become so dumbed down already that no one uses their brains to ask questions, wonder, and think about how a story we hear in the media can truly be effecting life in our world?? This is baby buying and the absolute most disgusting form of abuse of power!!! She could be using her stardom to help “normal” families adopt children but she isn’t. I would like to know, is her home the only home worthy of a poor child?? NO! I know people that have been trying to adopt children for years and can not. Either because adoption is expensive for an average family or because they don’t fit the “profile” of a “fit” family. Most countries have so many adoption rules. There is no way Madonna would be able to adopt a child if she didn’t have the money & fame she has. While many of the rules may not be right, they seem to only exist for people that are not rich and famous. Here are a few rules in which a person can not adopt a baby:
-Over the age of 40, sometimes younger (Umm, Madonna is 50)
-Single (Umm, Madonna’s last divorce was number what??)
-Already has children of their own and or adopted children (Madonna has 3 children already).
The list goes on. Madonna has the position to help hundreds if not thousands of children be adopted into loving homes but chooses to buy babies at her own whim. To me this is absolutely disgusting and extremely selfish. The boy she adopted has a living father in Malawi and yet she still took him?? Little David’s mother died and his father was forced to put him in an orphanage. If she truly cared for other people on the planet she could have found a way to help this man keep his boy instead of take him. I believe in adoption, it’s a beautiful thing but… THIS IS NOT ADOPTION. What people like Madonna (& other celebrities, but not all) are doing is showing the few elite in poor countries that they can create a business out of selling babies to the rich & famous. This will only push people in poor and underdeveloped countries further down while the few elite in the country become wealthier and more powerful. David’s biological father was promised visitation by Malawi government officials. I don’t know but sure don’t think Madonna is keeping up with that promise. To her he is just a poor man in Malawi and she has power. Here is a very important question to ask… Why take David when he has a living parent and so many of the other children in the orphanage didn’t? Well, little David was the only child in the orphanage WITHOUT the HIV/AIDS virus. Is this a coincidence? I think not. I don’t care how she would try to deny that I wouldn’t believe her. I saw her interview on Oprah a couple of years ago about adopting David and was disgusted with her for trying to sound like a savior and with Oprah for holding Madonna up on a pedestal as if she were a saint. This is what happens when you become so powerful that no one can dispute you and tell you that you are wrong.
What she is doing is allowing far fewer adoptions to take place because all they need to do is sell a couple of babies and make a huge profit.
Please, don’t just take a story at face value. Details make a difference. Ask questions. Get informed.

Madonna’s children are loved and cherished, well educated and flourising, she has introduced them to a faith that will teach them right from wrong and the value of sharing what is good in your life with others. There are far too many children in this world who are growing up without any of these things.
Mercy and David had been abandoned by their families in an orphanage only to be claimed once the publicity machine that follows Madonna highlighted their plight. Madonna will give them a family and a life most of us could only dream of. She is to be celebrated.
So many are ready to criticise but what are they doing to give them such a right and would they rather Madonna left these children in the orphanage and didnt support thousands of other children financially?
You can bet given the choice neither Mercy nor David would chose that route and nor would any of the children now being educated, fed and housed and rehomed at her expense.
