Hmm i think the word hypocrite is also applicable for those who can’t accept criticisms, opinions, insults (if there are basis, why not) about whoever they’re supporting…

You don’t need to reasort to such drama by calling someone ipocrita.

to all bloom fans @ 03/31/2009 at 11:53 am

say cheese… click

let the paps take their pictures…

You need to look up the word “hypocrite”.

A hypocrite is NOT someone who can’t accept criticism of someone they support.
A hypocrite is somoene who complains about others not accepting a different opinion, only to turn around and not accept the opinions of others. In other words, someone who says that you should accept my opinion, but I shouldn’t have to accept yours. As you did, above.
It wasn’t for “drama”, it was a statement of fact.

If you don’t like Orlando and you think he sucks as an actor why the hell are you here ?????????????????????????? And if you come on an Orlando Bloom thread to bash him you have to be willing to expect his fans to answer you not in a nice way since you are bashing someone they like .AND BY THE WAY SINCE WHEN EVERYTHING YOU DELPHI LOONS SAY IS THE TRUTH OR A FACT YOU PEOPLE ONLY LIE SO NO ONE IS BEING OFFENDED BY WHAT YOU ARE SAYING ABOUT ORLANDO SINCE IS NOT THE TRUTH BUT IS THE WAY YOU PEOPLE SAY IT .Again why are not at Delphi? I know you people get bored talking to people who only agree with you 24/7 and you came here because you just can’t help it .

I think Blooms fans have pretty much had it with him and his games, defo had it with each other, and it would seem JJ is now capturing and tracking posts and addies automadically no matter how many anon names ya’ use or which side of the toast you butter and THAT is why his threads are slowing down.

Well well sometimes a dictionary is not needed to attain word meanings, afterall they’re not accurate all the time. And with this blog, it’s very applicable for everyone, more precisely to the north direction of this comment.

fyi not a member of delphi, though i admire their sense of humor, and you’re right i’m bored with my job today at the hospital, and picking on someone as hypocrite as orlando (no need to enumerate the reasons why some people came up with that notion) and arguing to some die hard fans gives me a good laugh

Speak for yourself.
I still admire the man. He has talent, and an enormous heart. it’s your perogative to lose interest in him, but don’t try to speak for all of his fans. It’s a natural progression for stars. Some fans fall by the wayside to start following the next big thing, only to find that their new object of obsession isn’t perfect either.
I still like him, and I will continue to support his career. And I’m sure I’m not the only one here who believes that way.

The dictionary isn’t accurate?
HAHAHAHHAHAHHAH!!
That has to be the lamest excuse for ignorance that I have ever heard.
That’s priceless.

Twenty five years ago, many people wrote the same thing to Sean Penn.
Don’t worry about him, time will tell you.

And less than ten years ago, Johnny Depp was considered box office poison.

That is a big LOL though i have to agree with your first sentence.

FYI bloom isn’t like J/P, TOMKAT, ZEFRON, ANISTON, PATTINSON etc who generates tons of comments in a minute. So your excuse is so lame for making this **** thread of his to slow down. Not a fan of bloom though, so post again whatever you like!

By all means, do enumerate the reasons why O is so hypocrite and prove to us that you know what that word means if you can. Then I can enumerate what makes the haterz so hypocrite. They lie, follow a clear agenda composed of double standards, insult people’s intelligence…

But johnny is so talented that he can portray every character so effectively, and that’s i believe one of the traits that seperates him from the big/famous names in hollywood. As with bloom, i don’t see that kind of trait or talent as an actor.

Also, it’s significant for an actor to be well received by the audiences regardless of what role/movie he’s into and not just confined to the appreciation of screaming teen fans.

As you being a bloom affecionado, i’m very certain that even a single word can well register to the grasp of bloom’s followers…

and so on.

The fact is a fan will never or won’t completely accept any flaws from his idol.

You are comparing Orlando Bloom to Johnny Depp and Sean Penn, when it has not been demonstrated in the past 10 years (the amount of time Bloom has been acting professionally) that he possesses *their* degree of TALENT and SKILL. Talent and skill are two different things, and potential that remains undeveloped and not fully realized is just that : potential.

Potential does not make a great actor, great writer, great poet, great painter or a great anything. Like talent, it’s a starting point, but that alleged potential must be developed and turned into a genuine SKILL. We can all talk about our own potential in this or that area, but at some point, the people we brag to will say, “Put up or shut up. Let’s see what you can really do, besides TALK about what you can do.”

Hollywood is not going to wait forever until Bloom, or any other actor, finally develops his “potential,” especially when that actor - namely Bloom - has had some of the greatest opportunities to work with some of the finest talents Hollywood and the motion picture industry have to offer, both in front of and behind the camera. Bloom can honestly say he has worked with some of the best.

With all due respect, I strongly disagree with your comparisons.

To the poster farther up who suggested that “Kingdom of Heaven” made over 200 million dollars world wide and was therefor a financial success, that is possibly true - from that perspective. However, in the US, it made about $46 million, which was considered a very poor return on the studio’s investment. If you’re going to compare world wide stats instead of focusing on US gross, then try doing that for other films as well, and you’ll see the numbers sky rocket for most other films. Keep the comparisons consistent, and you’ll find many of the films released that year, including but not limited to Lucas’s final installment of “Star Wars,” all did exceedingly well worldwide.

The real industry barometer for an actor’s star power and box office strength still lies in the US, whether people like it or not, and Bloom’s box office strength is tied to his supporting roles in great films or franchises, such as LOTR and POTC. On his own, he does better in smaller independent films which fewer people see. His acting remains inconsistent and often self-conscious, which is the mark of inadequate experience. Training he has. The proper framework and experience foundation is what he lacks, and trying to get those things now after having been hyped to oblivion, labeled an A-Lister and often over-rated is not likely to pan out. He’s doing things in reverse. His manager and PR team can pat themselves on the back for helping to put him in the career position he currently finds himself in. I wouldn’t blame his girlfriends for his career choices or undeveloped ‘potential.’ That responsibility lies soley with Bloom.

Also to the poster farther up who suggested that a better script is going to some how prove Bloom to be a better actor, I again respectfully disagree. You can give an actor a better script, a better director, a better film editor, etc, but as Bloom has been given ALL those things repeatedly since 1999, minus E-Town, I’d say the verdict is in. What you see is what you get. He appears (in MY opinion only) to be far more interested in being a celebrity, “the next big something” as he called it in his “Elle” mag. interview from Oct. ‘03, and associating with the important and influential people in Tinseltown, hitting the clubs (preferably ones with paps and a trendy rep) and having ‘girlfriends’ that he can get papped with and engage in mutual exploitation, rather than focusing on being the best actor he can be. He also appears to be quite comfortable lying about future projects and his alleged ‘official’ website, in addition to misrepresenting who and what he truly is and believes in. Perhaps he does these things in order to get what he wants.

When you see other big name actors, or actors whom Bloom has worked with who have had years of handling fame and success, manage to keep their whereabouts and private lives private, and you compare them to Bloom, who has had access to those fine actors and their wisdom, you realize that not is all as it would seem with Orlando. And with the passing of time, certain truths become much clearer.

Just as water seeks its own level, Bloom’s choices and whatever talent he possesses and has made an effort to develop will seek its own level as well. The greatest director in the world, along with the greatest writers and editors can only do so much. When Bloom is surrounded by strong talent, the benefits of such an ensemble rub off on him. Left to his own devices and not given such ‘help,’ what you see is what you get, which is what is most likely all there is. Hopefully, he’s spent more time taking private acting classes than he has in getting papped with Miranda and Kate over the years.

WOW

How long does it take you to complete this ****?

One of the traits delphi posters are known to is their humour!

If you’re not a member of that said forum, my apology…

But wow oh wow, first time in ages i’ve seen a post long like this!

Welcome back DEJAVU2….

@65

That’s insane, but you pointed out the very obvious! Be ready cause you’ll be smacked by the wooden spoon by some diehard fans LOL

Celebrity?
Does a “celebrity” turn down big money for a new Bruckheimer trilogy to appear on stage?
Does a “celebrity” put his money behind a small movie with a young, first time director?
Does a “celebrity” back small movies concerning human stories from parts of the world that the west would like to ignore?
Does a “celebrity” travel with UNICEF to impoverished nations WITHOUT a camera crew and a dozen hangers on?
Does a “celebrity” travel to Antarctica to see the effects of global warming first hand?
Oh, I see. He has dared to go out with friends and have some fun. For SHAME! Doesn’t he know that he is supposed to shut himself away in a cave to be taken seriously by the likes of judgemental people like you? Shame on him!
Oh, and SHAME on him for being such a “celebrity” that he takes a part in a movie by one of the greatest American playwrites of our time.
You seem to be the one enthralled by his status in Hollywood. He doesn’t seem to care. He is doing the small parts that have ALWAYS interested him. If he seems to be going backwards, that is because his career is unique. Most actors have to start at the bottom, and work their way up. He started at the top, and is now doing exactly what he wants. Working on his craft in smaller films. Will he get better? Of course. He was fantastic in Haven, and outshone Heath (according to critics, not just me) in Ned Kelley. If you choose to dismiss his talent, that is your prejudice, and your loss.

Does a “celebrity” turn down big money for a new Bruckheimer trilogy to appear on stage?

Really? can’t remember who’s that bigtime name associated with that movie who commented that bloom wasn’t even considered for that project, even so some fans can add color to that. Supposedly, he turned that offer down(proofs please) and chose to appear on stage, did hollywood(imo is the measure of an actor’s staple of success) take him seriously for it.

Who knows if all these are just part of the plan to continue with whatever kind of image he wants for the people especially for his fans to see and there were photos and videos regarding to that travel with unicef.

This has gotten so far i think, to each his own. But some people who have seen him evolve through the years, specifically with his character, won’t be expected to praise him like some here who try to set out a command.

satisfied? @ 03/31/2009 at 2:56 pm

Orlando is the greatest actor in hollywood who at the same time is a box offfice king.

He’s a great man.

He has the most wonderful fans in the world.

And people have a big LOL for him.

WHATEVA

used to be a fan, but not anymore

Lauren Loose could tell you what kind of man Orlando Bloom is!

Oh, I see. So in your tiny little world there are no shades of gray? If we don’t think that he is the Devil Incarnate, we believe him to be a saint?
Pathetic.
If you can’t stand someone disagreeing with you, and giving reasons for disagreeing, then you belong back at Delphi. You certainly can’t seem to handle true discussion.
And at 71
You think that everything he is doing for UNICEF and in smaller movies is a “plan”? A plan for what?
If he cared about being a “celebrity” he wouldn’t care what people thought of him. He would act more like Colin Farrell, who did NO charity work until it hit close to home. he has turned his life around. Orlando has ALWAYS cared about others. He doesn’t need to turn his life around. But the fact that he isn’t living the like of a recluse seems to make some people (carmen) angry.
“A Plan”? I know that it is hard for a Delphidiot to understand, but not EVERYTHING is a conspiracy.
