Alex DeSilva Arrested For Sexual Assault
So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Alex DeSilva has been arrested for multiple sexual assaults, reports BNO News.
The 41-year-old was arrested in connection for four sexual assaults that occurred between May 2003 and March 28, 2009.
The Los Angeles Police Department said, “The four victims in this case were all students of DeSilva at the time of the assaults. The victims alleged that he lured them to his homes in North Hollywood and Van Nuys. He then used a ruse to get them into his bedroom where he raped them.”
DeSilva’s bail has been set at $3.8 million.

Let me say something to this outcome. I see that in the Salsa scene, most women throw themselves at these instructors. Typical guys master the skill of salsa so that they can connect with these ladies to that level. Alex is a skillful and extremely talented man. He is smooth and weman love him. If anything he should turn around and sew for defamation of character.
I actually know Alex and he is a creep! I will admit he is very talented, but he does come across as a creep.

It’s obvious that you “do not” know Alex and how he treats women with unexcusable disrespect. He’s thinks he is kingsh#t and I know several girls that hate him because of that. One girl got a restraining order against him because he was telling her “for $50 dollars” I can make you disappear”. One of his former dance partners stood him up at the finals of one competition because he was harrasing her and threatened her with physical violence.
His actions are his alone and are no reflection on the rest of the male salsa instructors. There may be some that use there skills to their advantage and to meet women, but there are many that enjoy teaching and do it for the love of salsa.
No one really knows what happened. For anyone to even say that he did or didn’t is irrelevant. Thats for the police and the courts to decide now. What people need to focus on is the fact that these girls put themselves in a postion that should never have occurred. i’m not saying that its right to be raped, but in this day and age we all “men and women” need to be cautious of going alone to places with people we hardly know. If you want to; then take a friend. Having a weapon doesnt mean you’ll have the oppurtonity to use it. But having a person thats there to look out for you will decrease the risk of something bad happening.
I heard the guy was a womanizer and a dog, even before I knew who he was. He only weighs a buck and a quarter soaking wet. I used to take lessons from him and all these really hot women would throw themselves at him & at first I could not figure out why. He’s not that good looking and he seemed kinda Gay. It wasn’t until I got to keep up taking these lessons that I saw why. He had a confidence, a sex appeal & an aura that seemd to just atrract these Woman. I am surprised at these charges because he did not have to rape women. They offered themselves to him. After being Investigated for the first one he should have stopped bringing them home. I think that these women may have felt rejected because he never would commit to one woman. I believe he will be exonerrated of these Charges. A few of the people I have talked with are surprised also. If he did commit these crimes then he deserves to be punished, but these girls should not have went to his home alone. You know what, I need to think first. I’ve already condemned this this man because of how I feel about this particular subject. Rape is appalling on so many levels, from disrespect of another human being, a need for power, psychological abuse, etc. But we do have to ask questions first. After all how many of you out there just KNEW the Duke Lacrosse players were guilty of the same charges? I did. I was just waiting for those over-priveliged “********” to go to jail. But what happened. The woman lied, charged were dropped, even the District Attorney was brought up on charges for obstruction of justice. How many of you thought Kobe was guilty? I was hoping…. praying it wasn’t true. And again, charges dropped. Rape is still the worst offense there is, but the people who lie about it, those people need a one-way ticket to hell. I have been jealous of Alex myself, but that doesn’t mean I would want him convicted of Rape if he did not do it. Maybe this Particular Detective has a vendetta because He went back to old cases. #38 and #42. Are you kidding me too? Don’t underestimate the height and weight of someone. Also, realize, he’s a dancer, and not a new one, which requires strength. “he could have fought him off”? And #42, many many many instructors teach from thier homes, so that’s not odd, even for the well to do ones. No one said they went there for free lessons, but they got one didn’t they. Very sad. I don’t know if this is true or not, and I’m sure not going to start making accusations, but I also wouldn’t want to re-victimize them by statements like these. And for all the ones stating that “he didn’t have to rape anyone”, well, you just aren’t educated in what makes a rapist tick. It has nothing to do with being good looking or not.
For those of you who keep saying that he could have any woman, you need to understand that rape and sexual assault are almost NEVER about sex- it is about power and making someone else feel inferior. Look at Ted Bundy- good looking and intelligent yet he chose to treat women as less than human.
As for the time differences, it can take YEARS to bring someone to justice. My friend was raped by her father when she was 11, though she told soon after, it was not brought to trial until she was 14.

Everybody who is charged is not guilty. Those are just allegations. And the charges were not rape…, they were sexual assault, which could be extremely serious or simpoly improperly touching a person, or their perception that he was. There is an old adage: “believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.” In any event, I heard Alex can be unpleasant and arrogant, at times, and that is a magnet for contempt. If he is innocent, he’d better watch his step from now on. If he is guilty, he should count his blessings. Who knows what took place or if he will ever be charged with anything… I will say this, a woman can be naive or vindictive. For those who are naive, reconsider going to man’s castle alone if you are not considering sex… A guy may read your acceptance as an interest in sex. Don’t get me wrong. Okay I’m sorry, but I find it very hard to believe that a guy that could have just about any girl he wants would have to rape a girl. Also, what did these girls that were taken classes from him think he wanted when he asked them over to his house? He’s a known womanizer! For a second however, let’s just say he did somehow LURE them to his house. I find it hard to believe any girl with a brain would be lured to the bedroom and not know what he was wanting you to come to the bedroom for. So I find it hard to believe they were lured to his bedroom. Anything is likely I suppose, but if my dance teacher, who was nice looking, semi-famous, and a known womanizer/player asked me to his house for some private sessions or whatever reason, I would suspect the private sessions were not dance related. If I chose to go then I would realize why I was going and would willingly be putting myself in that situation. Even if I didn’t catch on til I got to his house and there was no one there but he and I, and he asks me to come to the bedroom then I would for sure know what was expected. The story just doesn’t make sense at all. No always means no, but don’t be ignorant enough to put urself in that situation either. It is just as likely that some of these women could be trying to use his fame/money to get their fifteen. IDK, but the story is mighty suspicious IMO. I really do hope it isn’t true, because I love his routines on SYTYCD and I have missed him this season. However, if he is guilty then he should be punished.
