Alex DeSilva Arrested For Sexual Assault
So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Alex DeSilva has been arrested for multiple sexual assaults, reports BNO News.
The 41-year-old was arrested in connection for four sexual assaults that occurred between May 2003 and March 28, 2009.
The Los Angeles Police Department said, “The four victims in this case were all students of DeSilva at the time of the assaults. The victims alleged that he lured them to his homes in North Hollywood and Van Nuys. He then used a ruse to get them into his bedroom where he raped them.”
DeSilva’s bail has been set at $3.8 million.

Everyone is getting the wrong impression over this whole arrest thing. maybe if you were to meet the girls hes accused for you would think diferent about him.
those women didn’t prevent “the rape” from happening or else he wouldn’t have raped them. i know Alex and im shocked to this i doubt he raped them, they wanted it.

I was a beg. salsa student of his in the 1999-2000. He liked the pretty gals, that’s for sure!
Also, what did the victims expect? A free dance lesson at his HOUSE? C’mon get a clue..
Yup, so what else is new?? I bet you anything all the male “salsa instructors” are going to lay low and/or he’s going to rat them out!!
It is about time the authorities did something. It all started in 2003? Well that is what the books show. I am certain there are more woman out there!!
Let me say something to this outcome. I see that in the Salsa scene, most women throw themselves at these instructors. Typical guys master the skill of salsa so that they can connect with these ladies to that level. Alex is a skillful and extremely talented man. He is smooth and weman love him. If anything he should turn around and sew for defamation of character.
I actually know Alex and he is a creep! I will admit he is very talented, but he does come across as a creep.
To “Julie” the word “ruse” means a plan, so if he had a plan then I do not blame the women, we all know how women can be around “celebrities” they become desperate for the attention…BUT that in no way shape or form gives him the right to force himself on ANYONE if in fact he did..to #16 “HRHKAT” How dumb are you to even make a comment like that. You don’t have to have been raped to know how horrific it is and for you to say you would “allow” him..do you not have any self respect?
People like you make me ill and maybe you need to visit men and women who have been through such a crime to actually understand what you said you would agree to… I can only hope you would never be in such a position!
This is a sad, sad day to have read about this especially because I just finished working with him and I would hate to know he was capable of such a crime!
Sounds like some women got jealous and got together to teach him a lesson. Come on, if some guy sexually assaulted me I would report him immediately, not wait 6 years.

It’s obvious that you “do not” know Alex and how he treats women with unexcusable disrespect. He’s thinks he is kingsh#t and I know several girls that hate him because of that. One girl got a restraining order against him because he was telling her “for $50 dollars” I can make you disappear”. One of his former dance partners stood him up at the finals of one competition because he was harrasing her and threatened her with physical violence.
His actions are his alone and are no reflection on the rest of the male salsa instructors. There may be some that use there skills to their advantage and to meet women, but there are many that enjoy teaching and do it for the love of salsa.
No one really knows what happened. For anyone to even say that he did or didn’t is irrelevant. Thats for the police and the courts to decide now. What people need to focus on is the fact that these girls put themselves in a postion that should never have occurred. i’m not saying that its right to be raped, but in this day and age we all “men and women” need to be cautious of going alone to places with people we hardly know. If you want to; then take a friend. Having a weapon doesnt mean you’ll have the oppurtonity to use it. But having a person thats there to look out for you will decrease the risk of something bad happening.
I heard the guy was a womanizer and a dog, even before I knew who he was. He only weighs a buck and a quarter soaking wet. Any woman who weighs 120 lbs should have been able to slap him and curse him out and would have scared him. This guys has hundreds of women and twice as many groupies on the side. These woman probably went to his pad because he is a cutie pie and he can dance real well. They probably thought they had a shot at being his girlfriend so they made themselves vulnerable. When they realized this guy was full of himself and that he did not respect them they had second thoughts, but the trap was already set. The women were stupid and he is stupid for putting his life on the line for sex…. or should i say, his ego. I am not saying he is guilty or innocent; however, getting a woman alone to your home, then into the bedroom, has to be the oldest trick in the book. We used to try that in junior high…. What were they thinking?
