Alex DeSilva Arrested For Sexual Assault

Oh, wow. I went to high school with Alex and his sister Stacy. And several years ago I took some of his salsa classes here in the Bay Area, and he could be quite charming, but I’m shocked that he raped women, he certainly could have gotten them to consent to it, he’s good looking enough.

By the way he’s Brazilian.

I used to take lessons from him and all these really hot women would throw themselves at him & at first I could not figure out why. He’s not that good looking and he seemed kinda Gay. It wasn’t until I got to keep up taking these lessons that I saw why. He had a confidence, a sex appeal & an aura that seemd to just atrract these Woman. I am surprised at these charges because he did not have to rape women. They offered themselves to him. After being Investigated for the first one he should have stopped bringing them home. I think that these women may have felt rejected because he never would commit to one woman. I believe he will be exonerrated of these Charges. A few of the people I have talked with are surprised also. If he did commit these crimes then he deserves to be punished, but these girls should not have went to his home alone. There are just too many neurotic unbalanced Women out there especially the ones that go by the name of Liz that you just don’t let any girl get to close until you get to know them really well. Just by seeing them walk & talk I can tell which ones are pchyco.

I know him personally. I went to his house on a few occasions. He is very talented, smooth and has an impressive charm about him. I knew he was a womanizer. Tones of women are drawn to him. He doesnt need to lure anyone. They go willingly. I was aware that he only wanted to sleep with women. I find it difficult to believe that a tiny man (maybe 120 pound if that) can force himself on anyone. He is very convincing and smooth talking, I’ll give him that . I was with him on a couple occasions. On one particular occasion, I choose not to be with him. I only weight 100 pounds. He wasnt forceful at all . He tied to smooth talk his way to bed but never forceful. I just can not believe that he would rape anyone. He doesnt need to. Tones of women flock around him. He is good looking. He is charming. He has money. Why would he rape anyone when he has tones of women who are willing. It doesnt make any sense. I know many women hate him and are scorned because he just sleeps with them and then moves on to the next. I can agree that he is a womanizer, a pig, a dog etc. but i just cant believe he raped anyone. It doesnt make sense. i just hope he wasnt accused of rape because these women were angry and scorned.

To Al, where do you get your facts? I hung out with him and travel together many times, get your facts straight. It’s obvious you are an instructor and are probably gealous, unless you were there YOU DON’T KNOW lest you be judge!

if these women are friends, then I’ll believe something is fishy. But the fact that this has been an on going issues for some years…. Na–w!! I believe the police finally saw that this is a serious matter to look into. And I’m sure you all heard/read that one of them was a minor. Now what would kid be jealous of? Of other lose tricks?!! I just want to know what evidence they have on him for his bail to be at 3.8 million and a murderer of that SC students bail is set for 1 million. Hmmmm, what’s really wrong with that picture.

Alex has had a reputation as being a womanizing ego maniac for years….Sorry, but if you walk like a duck, talk like a duck, and look like a duck…you are a Duck. Alex is a duck who’s luck has run out!

Are you kidding me #19!!! (Julie). How could you re-victimize these people by calling them stupid. You’ve never been in a home of a man you trust, and maybe was going to show you something, which just happens to be in his bedroom. When you know someone for a while and you trust them, you could be in this position too.

#38 and #42. Are you kidding me too? Don’t underestimate the height and weight of someone. Also, realize, he’s a dancer, and not a new one, which requires strength. “he could have fought him off”? And #42, many many many instructors teach from thier homes, so that’s not odd, even for the well to do ones. No one said they went there for free lessons, but they got one didn’t they. Very sad. I don’t know if this is true or not, and I’m sure not going to start making accusations, but I also wouldn’t want to re-victimize them by statements like these. And for all the ones stating that “he didn’t have to rape anyone”, well, you just aren’t educated in what makes a rapist tick. It has nothing to do with being good looking or not.

I understand the part of Rape that means Power & some kind of mental Sickness & how some can turn it off & on, He could be like that, but then again that might not be the case at all. He could be innocent & yet there are those who see him as guilty already. His arrest was “suspicion of Rape”. Like I said before if he is guilty then He should pay the price. I have studied the Human Psyche for years & In my association with him I did not see any abnormal behavior. I know there are those who he had some shady financial deals with, but nothing about power trips, drugs, mental behaviors that would give clues that he might be a creep. The only thing with womanizers that might be a sign of mental illness is that some of those people might be totally incapable of LOVE. But then again he just might just Love Woman way too excessively and was struck with way too much testoterone. I look for mental quirks in people because my first reaction is to not “trust” so I don’t get hurt. Anyway I hope the truth will be realized and the people who have been hurt or traumatized from this can heal.

Everybody who is charged is not guilty. Those are just allegations. And the charges were not rape…, they were sexual assault, which could be extremely serious or simpoly improperly touching a person, or their perception that he was. There is an old adage: “believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.” In any event, I heard Alex can be unpleasant and arrogant, at times, and that is a magnet for contempt. If he is innocent, he’d better watch his step from now on. If he is guilty, he should count his blessings. Who knows what took place or if he will ever be charged with anything… I will say this, a woman can be naive or vindictive. For those who are naive, reconsider going to man’s castle alone if you are not considering sex… A guy may read your acceptance as an interest in sex. Don’t get me wrong. Some gals are just as freaky and sneaky as guys… Guys, if you take a woman to your castle, it could be your last night as a free man… She may be vindictive.

Just because he is free for now, it does not mean he is innocent. We really will never know and for sure his reputation is ruined because we will always wonder what really happened. I don’t know him well but I would not be surprised if it was true. I am concerned about the comments against the women that accused him. It is that ignorance and sexist attitude that makes both men and women feel its ok to disrespect a woman. The salsa scene is great and it attracts wonderful people who see dancing as a sport but just like anything it also attracts people with issues. Sometimes people with serious issues. Those of us that have been around the scene for years have to admit that there are those salseros that pretend to live a life that is only in their imagination. Some pretend to be rich and they are dirt poor, others pretend to be heterosexual and they are gay, single and they are married. At the end of the day we just want to dance but like 73 said “believe half of what you see and none of what you hear.”
