OlderLeAnn Rimes Wins ACM’s Humanitarian Award
LeAnn Rimes hits the orange carpet at the 2009 Academy Of Country Music Awards held at the MGM Grand on Sunday (April 5) in Las Vegas.
Noticeably missing at the ACMs was her husband, Dean Sheremet. (Could the affair rumors have anything to do with it?)
At the ceremony, the 26-year-old country singer picked up the Humanitarian Award for her ongoing community service, particularly devoted to children’s causes. She previously served as the International Spokesperson for Children’s Miracle Network, which secures top-flight medical care for sick kids, and has generously supported Camp C.O.P.E., a service that teaches the children of wounded veterans to deal
with their parents’ altered lives.
Yesterday, LeAnn performed during the Academy of Country Music all-star concert at the Fremont Street Experience in Las Vegas, Nevada. 40+ pics inside…

The most amusing part of the entire concocted “affair” was how well Leann and Eddie sold it, meaning it worked exactly as it was intended, a PUBLICITY STUNT. Not only was the movie a success, but Eddie and Leann were put back on the map. It’s certainly not their problem that too many out there accepted such random nonsense as fact, and actually paid attention when no story actually existed.
Either way, I’m thrilled that Leann is being recognized for her very active work in children’s charities, and promoting awareness. Love you Leann!

Does Anyone Know LeAnn Rimes?
One can only marvel at LeAnn Rimes’ journey in developing the light of her prodigal vocal gifts into a life brimming with the rewards of rich experience and material success. Difficulties there may have been, but a steady course seems to have been held by a fledgling woman of substance. However, now the inevitably fickle time-of-celebrity has cast a facade of fading light upon her career and her response to this illusion has produced a tint of doubt in her authenticity. To sell her music, she promoted the Family Values Tour and to promote her TV movie she committed adultery. Prejudiced and cynical as it may be, people sense theatrics in those that accept humanitarian awards or promote inspirational books dressed in stylish attire one day and the next are promoting something else dressed in provocative miniskirts or cavorting on security cameras. Perhaps it is the case that celebrity and authenticity (or at least a continuity in character) should never be considered in the same thought or on the same stage.

Humanitarian award my a##! I have worked on her “cause”. It was all lip service on Leeann’s part. She would show up ONLY for the photo op and then skip out. Everyone else did ALL the work. We all thought she was a Spoiled Self Promoting DIVA!!!
This is just so wrong. LeeAnn promotes herself as “wholesome” and “family values”. Wrong. LeeAnn is out for herself only and her DYING career. I live near her and LeeAnn has the public and media FOOLED with the innocent “ACT” she is promoting. Nobody in our home town can believe she gets away with this!!!
