I don’t like when they poke fun of adoption either. I am adopted and if it weren’t for my loviing parents I would still be an orphan. I think people need to stop with all the teasing. Didn’t watch the skit but I did watch an Angelina movie last night… After watching her in Changeling last night i think she should do more Dramas. I’ve read comments from Posters who say all she did was scream in the movie, so i was waiting for that but it only happened in the scenes where it was needed. I guess they watched some other movie. If you plan on watching it make sure you have some tissues ready. She’s a good dramatic Actress as well as Action Actress. LoL

Abby Elliott always gets Jolie’s facial expressions and her poses perfect. They weren’t making fun of adoption, they were just spoofing Angie and Madonna. The best part — “Angelina Jolie everybody!” haha!

Nobody’s making fun of adoption. it is making fun of obsessions. Especially Jolie seems to be obsessed with having/getting babies who love her the best unlike her father who ignored her in her childhood.

In the midst of Angelina finalizing Maddox adoption the US banned all adoptions from Cambodia. After extensive protest from nearly a hundred parents with nearly completed adoptions they allowed those all ready in the pipeline to be finalized. That is why Maddox was brought to Angelina on location in Namibia, as the adoption had been delayed by these events. US citizens still can’t adopt from Cambodia 7 years later although the authorities are taking major steps to improve that situation. As of this date the Cambodia government still has no internal safeguard in place that would satisfy the State Departments requirements.

Website: “Since 2001, the United States Government has consistently urged the Royal Government of Cambodia to amend its adoption laws and implement an effective, transparent child welfare system to protect children, birth parents and prospective adoptive parents. I believe in Angelina and I is good for the less unfortunate children to have a decent home, but also a good example. Angelina has changed for better.
As about Madonna, I am not sure that she will be a good example and I also think she is adopting children not because she is compassionate but because of promotion.

The reason Angelina adopts from other countries is because that’s the only way she is able to get away with not following the proper procedures. Her shady, underhanded ways of adopting would not fly in the U.S.
If she really wanted to help kids in underdeveloped countries, she would not just pick one kid out and take him/her home. That’s not helping.

@LYNN: SNL IS A COMEDY- they exaggerate the truth and have fun with it. It is not meant to attack and ruin people’s lives… as it appears some people believe… The skit is exaggerating the growing trend of adopting foreign children. Not that this is a good thing or a bad thing… just that it has become popular. I personnally see both good and bad sides to this, first and foremost is the culture difference, that children may feel disconnected with their new environment and that they might not have the opportunity to know their history. On the flip side adoption gives children a life in saftey they may not have had. Bottom line is that people (Angelina & Madonna fans) are over reacting and making ridiculous arguments that do not hold any value in the current context, that being that SNL makes fun of everything in a light hearted, fun spirit— often with the real actor’s joining in on the fun and acting in the skits helping to demonstrate the distorted perception of the media and laughing with the exaggerations.
