You Americans are crazy and narcissistic. You are really judging Angie because she adopts in countries where children die of hunger, thirst and STD’S? What you have in mind can only be MERDA. Your country despite the economic crisis is still the richest in the world so I REALLY doubt that children in the orphanage in USA will die of hunger or thirst , and I’m sure you have adequate medical care and structure for these abandoned children. But despite the efforts of artists such as Angie, Tom C. Maddona few children adopted in Africa mainly because most of these children have more risk of being sick
So I do not see what the grace to make jokes about this subject and that the public do exactly what some of you are doing criticizing those who want to help the only way that they know to improve the world and want to give a better life for these children. Instead of making fun you could congratulate the attitude of those people famous or not.
You are addicted to Celebrity’s and the worst is the admiration for those who do not do anything except go to the beaches and drinking daisies. Meanwhile those who have tried to do something for the worl you criticize. Even though the world we do appreciate the good people that make the world a better place for those who need more

SNL is of course making fun of Angelina and Madonna - as they are the most public face of adoption at the moment. The last time I read, Steven Spielberg hadn’t adopted anyone in a while.

But they are also by extension, making fun of anyone who adopts from a foreign country. Do you see anyone making fun of Sharon stone - who adopted all 3 of her blond, blue eyed, American boys, eh? Sharon adopted her second son, Laird Vonne Stone on May 7, 2005. On June 28, 2006, Stone adopted her third son, Quinn Kelly.

Incidentally, I for one, haven’t figured out Sharon’s adoptions coz there is a long waiting list to adopt healthy white kids in America. What, no allegations of baby buying?

But when Angelina adopts orphans, including Pax, a little boy whose family never bothered to visit him for the first 3 years of his life - which is why he was available for adoption, unlike the other children who at least had some family visiting them, she and Brad are accused of buying Pax??

I have read dozens of people on this thread today talk about the appalling conditions in which these children were living before Saint Angelina or Saint Madonna intervened. Have any of you looked into what you can do do help dying children in orphanages in Malawi or Cambodia??!!… or anywhere else in the world??!! You obviously have enough time on your hands!

Surely it must have been heart wrenching to leave so many children behind I don’t understand the mentality of chosing a different orphanage. Unless it was like going handbag shopping… she had one in the brown now wanted one in black.
During each pregnancy there were reports of her passing out on flights yet she still jetted off to different locations around the world to give birth to her children. Are new coordinates to add to your tattoo more important than your health while you are pregnant!

Wow, your explanation really makes so much sense. So after adopting from Cambodia she adopted from Africa. So what? So it must have been heart-wrenching to leave so many children behind — so what did you expect, she adopt all of them? She already has projects in Cambodia that would allow fathers to make a reasonable living, so she is helping families.

Last I checked, Angelina officially adopted Maddox, Zahara and Pax from legitimate orphanages. So where does the stealing part come from? Boy, anything to slam Angelina with.

In the midst of Angelina finalizing Maddox adoption the US banned all adoptions from Cambodia. After extensive protest from nearly a hundred parents with nearly completed adoptions they allowed those all ready in the pipeline to be finalized. That is why Maddox was brought to Angelina on location in Namibia, as the adoption had been delayed by these events. US citizens still can’t adopt from Cambodia 7 years later although the authorities are taking major steps to improve that situation. As of this date the Cambodia government still has no internal safeguard in place that would satisfy the State Departments requirements.

Website: “Since 2001, the United States Government has consistently urged the Royal Government of Cambodia to amend its adoption laws and implement an effective, transparent child welfare system to protect children, birth parents and prospective adoptive parents. However, the U.S. Government continues to wait for Cambodia to take further steps towards Convention implementation as well as to make progress on updating its overall child welfare system. And I wasn’t trying to suggest that she adopt every child from the Cambodian orphanage.. just saying that when she decided to adopt a second child surely the children she had already encountered in Cambodia, friends of Maddox that had to endure some of the same hardships he did, would have been first on her mind. Why Africa?

Why not Africa? Angelina spent a lot of time in Africa when she filmed ‘Beyond Borders’ and the 2nd Lara Croft movie to say nothing of the many, many missions she made there for the UNHCR and her first independent visit to the victims of the civil war in Sierra Leone.
