Angelina Jolie & Madonna: SNL Baby Battle

I believe in Angelina and I is good for the less unfortunate children to have a decent home, but also a good example. Angelina has changed for better.
As about Madonna, I am not sure that she will be a good example and I also think she is adopting children not because she is compassionate but because of promotion.

The reason Angelina adopts from other countries is because that’s the only way she is able to get away with not following the proper procedures. Her shady, underhanded ways of adopting would not fly in the U.S.
If she really wanted to help kids in underdeveloped countries, she would not just pick one kid out and take him/her home. That’s not helping.

true: adoption is not a thing to make fun of..but also true is that it is sort of publicity, there ARE ENOUGH BABIES IN THE U.S. TO ADOPT.. WHY GO TO ANOTHER COUNTRY TO ADOPT ONE? and Are they more special? and if they really wanna be original they should try mexico, colombia,,,south america…jolie has too many babies from the other side of the atlantic….

Orphans are orphans, whereever they’re from. Who are you to tell other people what country to adopt from? Who are you to judge how many babies are too many for other people? Why don’t you adopt from the countries you’re suggesting!

It won’t happen the way we expect it to? What I expect is they both get drunk and wake up in bed together nekkid the next morning with neither of them remembering exactly what happened…or something along the lines of “Oops…” What I don’t expect is for them to be honest with each other and jump each other’s bones. If that happens then I’ll be shocked…anything other than that is expected…

Um…this is HILARIOUS. They’re not making fun of adoption in itself, but adoption when it almost seems to be approached as a sport.

I thought the skit was hilarious…. It does seem like Madonna and Angelina have a contest going. All you people whining about how adoption is not funny, you’re right, but this skit was!!! Get over yourselves and learn to laugh a little ~ AND I think celebs need to stop adopting from foreign countries. There are thousands of American children that need a home…..

@LYNN: SNL IS A COMEDY- they exaggerate the truth and have fun with it. It is not meant to attack and ruin people’s lives… as it appears some people believe… The skit is exaggerating the growing trend of adopting foreign children. Not that this is a good thing or a bad thing… just that it has become popular. I personnally see both good and bad sides to this, first and foremost is the culture difference, that children may feel disconnected with their new environment and that they might not have the opportunity to know their history. On the flip side adoption gives children a life in saftey they may not have had. Bottom line is that people (Angelina & Madonna fans) are over reacting and making ridiculous arguments that do not hold any value in the current context, that being that SNL makes fun of everything in a light hearted, fun spirit— often with the real actor’s joining in on the fun and acting in the skits helping to demonstrate the distorted perception of the media and laughing with the exaggerations.
