Brad Pitt Bags Out In Burberry
Globe-trotting Brad Pitt totes around a Burberry charcoal check cross-body bag as he arrives at Marseille airport in France on Thursday (April 9).
The 45-year-old actor, who also wore a black LNA hoodie and David Yurman gold “Wasp” ring, will reportedly stay at his home in Miraval.
Johnny Depp was recently named the most beautiful international male celebrity by Who magazine. Brad came in second in the mag’s list while his Ocean’s Thirteen costar George Clooney picked up third. Orlando Bloom took the fourth spot while David Beckham rounded out the top five.

Gotta agree about the sexiness factor. So many in Hollywood and all over America try desperately to be sexy. What they don’t understand is that sexy is a vibe that you get from someone. It’s not something you put on or by showing off body parts. The less concerned you are about it the more sexy you actually come across.
Example, Kim Kardashian is supposed to be considered sexy by a certain group of people becasue of whatever. But when she was on Dancing with Stars, she came across as frigid as an igloo even with tiny clothing on. Poor Reggie Bush. Imagine Kim’s name when or if she married Bush, Kim Bush. The pressure for her to be sexy with that name will be over the top. Now take someone like Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp who are considere old by a certain group of people. Doesn’t matter, you know why? When they look into your eyes, talk, walk, and just are, they ooze something that’s sexy but you can’t put your finger on what it is exactly. It’s not about men vs. women either. Kim Basinger, Halle berry, Robin Wright Penn are all older women who are very sexy but don’t bend over their back to try to convince you.

Those foreign box office monies are why Brad and Angelina are in such demand. Stars whose movies earn more overseas than in the States are much more important to the bottom line than stars who are only “American stars” as opposed to “International stars.” Not only the box office but foreign DVD sales will also make more money.
From what I understand, “Benjamin Button” wasn’t expected to break even because it cost so much to make. But I’m sure it has more than broken even. “Changling” too is a big money maker. People who laughed and said Jolie had “another bomb” don’t understand worldwide box office. Jolie has never really had a bomb in any movie she has stared in. Neither has Brad. The Care to Learn Fund celebrated its one-year anniversary today and made two announcements regarding the program’s expansion.
The fund was founded in April 2008 by local businessman Doug Pitt and is supported by actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie through their Jolie-Pitt Foundation, local businessman Jim D. Morris, St. John’s and an anonymous private donor. Contributions to the fund are designated for the Springfield Public Schools Foundation and pay for the health, hygiene and hunger needs of Springfield students.
In its first year, the fund raised $320,000 - more than $100,000 above the initial fundraising goal - and added several corporate partners, including Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club, SRC Holdings Corp., ServiceWorld Computer Center, Ollis & Co. and Grooms Office Supply, according to a news release.
Since launching, the Care to Learn Fund has supplied 6,480 backpacks of food for students to take home on the weekend, 350 coats, 585 vouchers for health-related products, 75 coat vouchers, 40 packages of socks and underwear, 20 pairs of shoes, 65 pairs of pants, and 150 emergency bus vouchers for students who could not ride the school bus or afford other transportation.
Today, at a news conference at Nixa Junior High School, officials announced that the fund’s benefactors now will match donations four-to-one, as opposed to the three-to-one structure in the first year. Up to $50,000 in contributions will be matched by $200,000 from the fund’s partners.
Officials also announced the establishment of the Care to Learn Fund-Nixa, which will support students in the Nixa R-2 School District, according to the release.
The Nixa fund was made possible by a $10,000 one-to-one matching donation from St. John’s Clinic Force for Good.
“Care to Learn Fund recognizes that the needs of children in our area extend beyond Springfield,” Doug Pitt said in the release. “The establishment of Care to Learn Fund-Nixa expands our ability to help, and the generosity of St. John’s means that we can start immediately meeting the health, hygiene and hunger needs of students in Nixa.”

Brad LOVES his family. No doubt about it! I never really paid attention to Brad. I did say, that he was too good for his ex-wife. He was known as the beautiful one in that supposed ‘golden couple”. Angie had my hear,t the first time I laid eyes on her. Even though, they are at equal playing field. I never in a million years, would’ve guessed these two would end-up together. I’m so happy they did! Now Brad’s life is complete. He can die happy now. With Angie, he lived a purpose driven life. In my opinion, he never looked sexier! He now looks like a real man. It might be my favourite 13 minutes of the year. If only because it came out of nowhere.
When Billy Bob Thornton appeared on CBC Radio’s ‘Q’ show Wednesday to promote his band The Boxmasters, no one expected anything but the usual celebrity fluff. I wonder how many people were even listening.
But by Wednesday night, it was everywhere. In a classic, squirm-in-your-seat segment, Thornton began by mumbling a bunch of non-answers when host Jian Ghomeshi asked about his band. A small sampling:
Q: “Billy Bob, you guys formed only in the last couple of years, right?”
A: “I don’t know what you are talking about.”
Q: “How so?”
A: “I don’t know what you mean by that.”
Q: “When did the band form?”
A: “I’m not sure what that means.”
The source of his surliness was soon revealed: He was miffed at Ghomeshi for introducing him as an actor and Oscar-winning screenwriter.
That’s it. That’s why he threw a tantrum.

According to a rather high-profile producer friend, Angelina Jolie is now in “serious talks” – as opposed to merely being mentioned as a possibility, or having a casual coffee with the filmmakers to suss out her interest – to star in director Robert Rodroguez’s “Sin City 2”.
Jolie first spoke to Rodriguez and writer/co-director Frank Miller about the film in 2006. All went quiet on the project though, largely because the producers weren’t ready to pull the trigger on the production, and all converse ceased. Now, according to my mole, the project has gathered steam and the filmmakers are trying to get Jolie to officially commit to playing the female lead.
Jolie would play the iniquitous Ava, the lead character in Miller’s “A Dame to Kill For” story. She’s the former flame of clean-living photographer Dwight McCarthy, and shows up and professes her love for him. When he finds out she’s in way over her head, it looks as though trouble has found him. And he’d be right.
The project would reunite Jolie with her “Beyond Borders” co-star Clive Owen, who’s loosely attached to reprise his role as McCarthy.
We’re told that the long-gestating sequel is inching forward a little faster than it was, say, six months ago. Wonder if it’s the Weinstein’s who are suddenly raring to go? Word is, they haven’t lost the rights to the film, but could if the project doesn’t transition from a simmer to a boil pretty soon.

Malkovich to receive honor at İstanbul fest
John Malkovich, the charismatic actor, producer and director whose big-screen career spans more than 25 years, will make a rare appearance in İstanbul this week when he arrives here to receive an award honoring his body of work during the İstanbul International Film Festival.
The 56-year-old Malkovich will receive the İstanbul International Film Festival’s Cinema Honor during a ceremony on Friday at Emek Theater in Beyoğlu ahead of a screening of the Icelandic film “Brúdguminn” (White Night Wedding) at 1:30 p.m., the festival’s organizers said in a written statement on Tuesday.
The two-time Academy Award-nominated and Emmy-winning Malkovich, who has appeared in over 70 motion pictures over the course of 25 years, will also speak at a press conference ahead of the ceremony, the İstanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) said in the statement.
Malkovich, who last appeared in Turkish theaters as Reverend Briegleb opposite Angelina Jolie in Clint Eastwood’s “Changeling,” plays the leading role in “Disgrace,” which is in the running in the İstanbul film festival’s international feature competition. Adapted from Nobel Prize-winner J.M. Coetzee’s 1999 novel and directed by Steve Jacobs, “Disgrace” tells the story of a South African university professor who loses his reputation, his job, his peace of mind, his dreams and even his daughter’s well-being and safety after he seduces one of his students. The film, starring Malkovich as David Lurie, had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2008, where it won the International Critics’ Award. The film’s İstanbul International Film Festival screenings are scheduled for April 15, 16 and 18.

The joint venture will now be worth $700 million (Rs3,535 crore) against the original plan of $1.4 billion, according to an R-Adag executive familiar with the development.
The film production and distribution deal between the Hollywood studio and the diversified Indian conglomerate —hailed as a “first” of sorts and milestone in sector study in February this year by industry group Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Ficci) and audit and consulting firm KPMG—was announced in the second half of 2008, capping months of speculation of a tie-up as well as feuding between Spielberg and his DreamWorks co-founder David Geffen with executives from Paramount Pictures Corp. and its corporate parent, Viacom Inc.
The DreamWorks-R-Adag tie-up allowed Spielberg to sever ties with Paramount Pictures and seek independent funding from Reliance Big Entertainment Pvt. Ltd, R-Adag’s entertainment arm with global ambitions, at a time when even the biggest names such as his were hamstrung in funding his projects in Hollywood.
The global meltdown and financial institutions’ unwillingness to lend since then have caught up with his Indian partner as well.
In May 2008 during the Cannes Film Festival, Reliance Big Entertainment had announced production deals with some of the biggest names in Hollywood such as Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Tom Hanks, Jim Carrey and Nicholas Cage—a clear indication of the company’s global ambitions.

I’m very confused by the salary quoted in Parade magazine. How could Angelina make $14 million last year when she didn’t work at all for a year? If they are talking about her paycheck for Wanted, then why did they not include the backend that she got for the movie? She also filmed Changeling and got And then on top of that there is Kung Fu Panda. She got $8 million for filming Beowulf for 3 days, so I’m assuming she got atleast that much for the Panda movie.
Why would they only count the salary for one movie? Have you noticed than when those magazines (forbes, parade) count how much X makes, they take everything into account, her residuals from Friends, her movie salary, her water deal.
But when they figure out the salary for Brad or Angelina, they ignore a lot of factors like how much they get for the backend deals, the commercials Brad does, the animation movies Angie does, and Brad’s production company.

I watched Clive’s bio on A&E a few months ago and he spoke VERY highly of Angelina.Also he pointed out how intelligent she was.Giving examples of how she corrected the directors/producers on the accuracy of the material they were filming for Beyond Borders.

According to a rather high-profile producer friend, Angelina Jolie is now in “serious talks” – as opposed to merely being mentioned as a possibility, or having a casual coffee with the filmmakers to suss out her interest – to star in director Robert Rodroguez’s “Sin City 2”.
Jolie first spoke to Rodriguez and writer/co-director Frank Miller about the film in 2006. All went quiet on the project though, largely because the producers weren’t ready to pull the trigger on the production, and all converse ceased. Now, according to my mole, the project has gathered steam and the filmmakers are trying to get Jolie to officially commit to playing the female lead.
Jolie would play the iniquitous Ava, the lead character in Miller’s “A Dame to Kill For” story. She’s the former flame of clean-living photographer Dwight McCarthy, and shows up and professes her love for him. When he finds out she’s in way over her head, it looks as though trouble has found him. And he’d be right.
The project would reunite Jolie with her “Beyond Borders” co-star Clive Owen, who’s loosely attached to reprise his role as McCarthy.
We’re told that the long-gestating sequel is inching forward a little faster than it was, say, six months ago. Wonder if it’s the Weinstein’s who are suddenly raring to go? Word is, they haven’t lost the rights to the film, but could if the project doesn’t transition from a simmer to a boil pretty soon.

I’m hoping for her to go back to being healthy again.

According to blogs , Pitt is staying there until Cannes. He doesn’t even spend Easter with his family . Why would he leave the family he says he loves during holy week and travel to France? I read some of you claim Brad is there in France earlier and family will join him on Saturday. I was LOL. Jennifer Lopez for Self Magazine was one of the best-selling magazine covers of 2008.
COVERING THE WINNERS AND LOSERS: Beyond the cover lines and the fashion credits, there’s that celebrated face that can make or break a magazine’s newsstand sales. And if that face is a brunette with a handsome husband and a family the size of a farm team — or wife of an international soccer star — chances are she helped sell the most magazines last year.
***A search of numbers from the Audit Bureau of Circulations found that Angelina Jolie, Victoria Beckham and Lauren Conrad were among the most salable cover faces for fashion monthly titles in 2008, while Nicole Kidman, Carrie Underwood, and Rachel Weisz were the least. ***That said, the losers shouldn’t bear the entire burden: Several of the worst-selling issues fell in January, which is typically a soft month for newsstand sales, or around the holidays, when consumers were dealing with more pressing economic concerns.
At Vogue, the October issue with Weisz on the cover was the magazine’s poorest seller, with 276,000 copies, while September, unsurprisingly, was Vogue’s best seller at 559,000 copies. The fat fall fashion issue featured Keira Knightley. At Elle, Beckham was the title’s best-selling subject last year. Her January cover sold 413,000 copies. The worst was December’s Underwood, registering 253,611.
***Jolie’s July cover of Vanity Fair and her November cover of W were the titles’ best sellers for the year. Vanity Fair’s July issue sold 504,785 single copies, while W’s November issue moved 78,000 issues. “Grey’s Anatomy” star Katherine Heigl was Vanity Fair’s slowest seller, selling 314,000 copies in January. Hilary Swank was the worst performer for W, compounded by the January timing, selling 27,000 on the newsstand.
In Style’s March issue with Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria Parker outsold the rest of the year’s copies, with 888,912. The underperformer was July with Anne Hathaway at 585,170 issues. Marie Claire’s best seller was July, thanks to the magazine nabbing the stars of “Sex and The City” ’ for its cover as the movie hit theaters. The issue sold 440,948 copies. The December issue featuring Jennifer Connelly was the worst performer, with 191,000 copies. Harper’s Bazaar sold 213,195 copies of its March issue when it put bad girl Lindsay Lohan on its cover, but Drew Barrymore didn’t fare as well. Her November cover sold 119,501 copies.
Lucky’s September issue also sold best for the shopping magazine — repeat cover subject Milla Jovovich sold 336,000 issues. But its June issue with Amanda Peet registered 205,000 copies. At Glamour, Jessica Simpson’s June issue sold 775,000 issues, Glamour’s best of the year. Kidman was not as appealing: Her December cover sold 460,000 copies — the worst single-copy sales in recent history for the title. Cosmopolitan sold nearly 2 million copies with Scarlett Johansson in August. But while country-music-singing Simpson fared well for Glamour, she was Cosmo’s worst seller for the year when she appeared on its December issue, which sold 1,565,128 copies.
Though Longoria Parker and Johansson were best sellers for In Style and Cosmopolitan, they fared the poorest for Allure. The duo fell victim to the economic downturn: They appeared on the November and December issues of the beauty title, which both sold 190,000 copies each. Allure’s best seller? Beckham once again — her August cover sold 273,000 copies.
“The Hills” star Conrad was the best seller for Shape, selling 447,969 copies in January, and Jennifer Lopez was the best seller for Self in September (376,000 copies), as the mother of twins was training for her first triathlon.. Zellweger was Self’s worst seller in October, selling 254,000 copies. The November issue of Shape, featuring Ripa, sold 258,200 copies.
