OlderVanessa Hudgens To Cover Self Magazine
Vanessa Hudgens will take the May 2009 cover of Self Magazine.
The 20-year-old former High School Musical sweetheart recently purchased her own home, which interior designer Kenneth Brown will be decorating (he’s also doing her boyfriend Zac Efron’s home too).
“I keep a Taser in my purse for self-defense,” Vanessa said. “I’m moving into a house by myself, and it’s scary.”
As for going au naturel, Ms. Hudgens shared, “Sometimes I feel prettier without makeup. You take it off and you’re like, Oh, there I am! But red lips make me feel sexy . . . It brings out the vixen in you.”
Young Hollywood is definitely becoming bankable. 19-year-old Taylor Swift took the mag’s March 2009 cover.
Vanessa is currently in New York City to support Zac, who’s hosting Saturday Night Live TONIGHT @ 11:30PM ET/PT on NBC.

Wow, she gets a cover of Self magazine. I really like Vanessa, and think the media is responsible for having the editorial publications resort to putting celebrities on their covers. It’s not as if they’re sharing such profound information that will make a difference, or impact someone’s life…What will I learn from a 20year old accept she was allowed to figure herself for exposing herself privately and it went public…for the second chance opportunity that was given to her to prove she’s innocent, sound, and loves to shop…Okay, I’m ranting…I think Vanessa being on the cover of Self is irrelevant or maybe I’m just missing what their publication stands for.

You remind of the ctiric when King Kong came out they said of Jessica Lange “She’s pretty to look at, now what” and the general consesus was that’s all she had to offer. WRONG!!
Now she (Jessica) is one of only a very very few actress (Ingrid Bergman, Meryl Streep) to win a academy award in both Actress in a Supporting Role and Actress in a Leading Role but back then critics and fan looked and shook their heads. Their “now what” became “oh hell who would havve guessed”. The same was true for oscar winners Maria Tomei, Mira Sorvino, Jennifer Conolly and I could go on.

Getting your own house and living alone are two entirely different things. Gimme a break - Zac will be there every night and every day. They’re already sleeping together, which they’ve all but formally announced. These two are too young to have such a heavy, 24/7 relationship and I bet it’s based mostly on sex. Shame.

The thing that gets me the most is these people show up on every Vanessa thread to spread this vile. As I have said in the past, there are several people on JJ I don’t care for, I skip their threads. I don’ t go on them with misinformed notions about how they should live there lives. Vanessa has at least two new movie offers as we;; as her endorsements to keep her busy. She is doing just fine. You know what people? Does it matter one way or another if Nikki is in the SNL audience? Really, does it? I think those of you who were hoping it to mean something are probably rather deflated now that most of you know that Vanessa is with him in NYC. I also think many of the haters on this site are just trying to get rid of some deep seated disappointment. Just let go of that silly dream you all have at thinking Zac is suddenly going to declare his love for Nikki and get on with real life. It will be so liberating to you. If Vanessa could’nt let Zac out of her sight in NY then she would have gone with him from the start and made sure she knew every move he made and with who, but no she only went on Friday and there is a picture of Zac picking her up from the airport and they are both posing with fans, so I’m sure as it’s only logical that if Zac did’nt want Vanessa there becuase he invited Nikki and wantd to be with her instead then that’s what he would have done. Well we know why Zac invited Nikki to see him at SNL so that he could take her out afterwards, he even said hmself at the start of the show when asked if he had a girlfriend he sid yes then got asked if he was going to the after party and said yes asked again if it was going to be with his gf he said no just a girl.
How disrepestful is that your gf takes the time to come and visit you to give you support for a show and you don’t even want to take herto a party or even spend time with her after but you’d rather spend the time with a former co-star ye that’s really sweet.
Yet again Zac proves he’s more into his co-star’s than his own girlfriend such a good bf is’nt he.

I loved some of the pictures they had of Zac when they would go to a commercial. I loved the last one in the red suit. I would have loved to see him get to work with some of the greats that have been on that show over the years. Right now, I don’t find anyone all that good. They are all rather annoying.
For all those wondering about the picture it is not for the Brazilian pictures. We have not yet seen that magazine photoshoot.
Yeah, #131, Karen, I agree, those still shots were great!!! I hope someone will be able to post them….The show isn’t as funny as it used to be, although Bill Hader and Adam Sandberg and one or two others have stamina to carry that show. Zac was a great host, and I hope they ask him back…He was funny too…the show was well worth his time and his stay in NYC, I hope Zac thought so too.
Ithink Zac did a great job and he genuniely seemed to be enjoying himself. One of my favourite parts was when he went to his brother and got the foot rub that was hilarious.
I’m guessing he as nervous though which is understandable I say this only becuase when he irst came on he was wringing his hands together a lot but it’s a big thing and I think he did well. I bet it helped though knowing that Vaness was there for support, hope they get a few days here they can just hang out and relax a bit.

I thought Zac did a great job too, especially for what he had to work with!! His skits were actually pretty funny, and he looked hysterical in some of his costumes! I also think he looked older and not as skinny. I think that’s key for him in moving into adult roles; he has to look the part. Time to shed his teen looks.

Yeah, he really did, Tiptoes!! I was howling over his imitation of Cody Gifford, and the hair and tight pants! He really has such great facial expressions, doesn’t he? I think this was like an “I’ve arrived, and I’m here to stay” night for him. He did good.
Now, I think we’d LOVE to see a pic of Vanessa while she was there last night, or from an after-party, but I’ll bet it’s a pretty private event and I doubt paps are invited. But, we can always hope…maybe JJ has an inside scoop?
