Gerard Butler: I Heart You!
Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl get cute with hearts in this new poster for their upcoming rom-com The Ugly Truth, out in July.
Plot details: A romantically challenged morning-show producer (Heigl) is reluctantly embroiled in a series of outrageous tests by her male chauvinist correspondent (Butler) to prove his theories on relationships and allow her to find love. His clever ploys, however lead to an unexpected result.

The reason why the issue of Gerry’s sexuality keeps coming up is because of the FACTS. There are no accusations. The FACT is that the man has not had one girlfriend of record. Not one! Everything about him and the opposite sex has been reported in various blogs, message boards and gossip sites told from a third person account. Does anyone bother to stop and ask themselves why at this man’s age (and level of fame) is there so much inconsistent information about his dating life? Why is it all just rumor? A vague mention there. A non-detailed blurb there. He’s so private but yet “gets his Mack on” in full view of the paparazzi’s cameras outside Hyde and at the Santa Monica Pier. He’s linked to black girls, Latinas, Asian girls, blondes, redheads, and teenagers…..He’s pulling supermodels AND green lighter chick?! Sorry not buying it.
Before you fans get defensive of your fantasy man aka daily dose of escapism….think about it. Sometimes things are just what they are.
Yes, there are incredbly sexy, ruggedly handsome gay men in the world. And Butler is one of them. Deal with it.

I heard they were dating (not now, a couple of years ago). I wonder if it was really true. If it was, f&%cking gross! :(

IS that any of our business?..He could be with several women in one evening..so?…I am a lover of movies etc..I watch for what happens movie wise..I couldn’t care less about their personal lives..Most celebrities have no morals any way..I go to the theater to be entertained..End of story. Some of you here ought to look in the mirror..at your own personal relationships..The man is no angel but neither is the rest of the world..

When the show ended he walked up the stairs and talked to some fans. He took one woman’s hand and asked her ” What time did you get here?” She said “We got here at 3:00 o’clock this morning.” Still holding her hand he says “3:00 o’clock in the morning, I was having sex at 3:00 o’clock this morning…..No not really, well yeah I was, I was just by myself.” Nice. True story. The woman wrote about it and others commented on hearing it. It is well known over at the fansites and they comment on “3AM” all the time. They find the story adorable.
If I was that woman, I would have been grossed out that I was shaking the hand that he pleasured himself with earlier that morning….

Well, I’ve wondered, yes, but no, I haven’t “stopped to ask myself” as if it is something I must find the answer to. LOL. I don’t care that much to dwell on it. But it seems you do.
His dating life is his own business. It has no affect on my life. Why does it matter so much to you that you have to announce to the world your verdict on his sexuality? You really should take a breath and ask yourself that question.

Because a rumor is unsubstantiated. Gerry’s sexual orientation has never been substantiated toward either preference, therefore it’s rumor not fact. So you pronouncing him as gay is just as ridiculous as those who pronounce him straight. None of you have anything substantive or factual to back up your assumptions. But one thing they have that you don’t. His own words out of his own mouth on the subject. Maybe not much to you, but it’s more substantive than anything you’ve got.

The real question again is why are you investing so much emotion in proclaiming his sexual orientation and then more emotion in fighting with his fans about how right you are? Seems like a rather unhealthy obsession you have going on there.

@KatieJ: Why is 151 so emotional in HIS belief if Gerry’s gayness? Because 151 want to be gay for obvious reasons. This has happened to other stars like Richard Gere. It’s passionate and vicious.

Wow it is interesting that so many people think that they know all about Gerard’s dating life and love life. You would think that they have personal knowledge. How can anyone but Gerard know what happens behind closed doors? Maybe you have a hidden camera. When a person becomes well-known speculation runs rampant. In my opinion, I think it is not anyone’s business. Yes, Gerard needs to be more discerning in his behavior with young fans. I do not condone his past behavior. But what about the fan at TIFF that pinched his face? As for Philly chat blog-he sure was using Gerry for his own benefit a few weeks ago.

anon, 151 is not a he. I know very well she is not. I have a pretty good idea who she is, and like her and get along with her pretty well, but she does go off on these irrational rants at Gerryfans that just make me scratch my head and wonder at her motivation and her emotional investment.
I also have a pretty good idea who the Swansong imposter is also. She and I, however, have no love lost between us.

anon, I don’t have any idea. I don’t for a minute think she WANTS him to be gay. I think she is just convinced of it and maybe hates him for it, and other imagined behaviors, because of her religious beliefs. I really don’t understand what motivates her. If it’s even her. What I read here on this site frankly is sad. It really does amaze me how easily people jump on the bandwagon to bash Gerry. You don’t even have to have proof of anything to accuse him of things.
I have been watching his career for 5 years now, not out of some crazy obsession or believing that he is one of his characters. I see him as Gerry, just a guy who happens to act for a living. His kindness and generousity is what earns him loyalty, something that many of you don’t know they meaning of or have forgotten along the way or never learned.
I am not on any high horse here, but what I have seen here on this site over the last months is really very sad and now that someone is impersonating a wonderful woman that I KNOW… shame on you! Talk about no class. You didn’t fool anyone that knows her.
I wish I could say that I hope you all that have abused you “freedom for speech” feel the same wrath that you have bestowed upon Gerry, but I won’t. I do pity you for your hatred that you feel for a complete stranger and i do hope that one day that will change. I hope that you can look in the mirror and chose that today you are going to try to find the good in people instead of the hatred that you are right now. Life is just too short.
As far as the gay rumor… in a very recent interview he came right out and said he is NOT gay and NEVER was gay. Never had interest in it EVER!
I think even if Gerry marrigths and have kids, there will be people that wil still belive it,

I thought I was just going to say thanks for the cute poster and news of the new movie with Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler. But after reading through all of these comments I have to say Mr. Butler sure has a lot of unwarranted irrational haters.
So, I just want to say to Mr. Butler, I am a fan and I am looking forward to seeing The Ugly Truth.
