Angelina Jolie better watch out! It looks like the mom of six has some competition in the New York suburb the Brangelina brood currently calls home.

As Angie, 33, shoots the spy thriller Salt in NYC, Brad Pitt, 45, has become a regular at the school gates… and a housewives’ favorite!

“Brad drives the kids to school, so the moms have started dressing up to drop their kids off,” a local tells OK!. “They usually wear sweatpants, but now they’re all decked out.”

The proud papa is also a fixture in 2-year-old Shiloh’s classes at her preschool near the family’s rented mansion on Long Island’s swanky North Shore. “He sits in the corner of the classroom because Shiloh starts to cry whenever he goes,” a source tells OK!.

“Shiloh won’t leave Brad’s side and holds onto him when he tries to get up. He wears his sunglasses and hat the whole time. The moms go crazy and whisper about him, but he hasn’t made any play dates.”

Those mothers should frequent the Oyster Bay, N.Y., Dunkin’ Donuts where a solo Brad bought coffee on April 8. But Angelina was firmly in the picture April 5 when they spent 30 minutes picking out a game, magazines and books with Maddox, 7, and Pax, 5, at Syosset’s Borders Books.

“Brad was sitting in the kids’ aisle with one the boys. When Angelina found him, Brad smiled and said, ‘Hi Mommy!’” an eyewitness tells OK!. “Angie took one kid and Brad took another and they walked around the store. They seemed like a normal family buying books.”

Lookin’ good………Glorious Brad and the movie. Was likely a blast making it….QT would be a slice to hang with to say the least. Also he typically selects an interesting musical soundtrack…..look fwd to seeing this flick and the Cannes RC of course.

I just think there was a lot of bad faith involved in making SOP without the original people involved - I actually like Rachel McAdams and Helen Mirren but my disgust for how this movie came about just doesn’t let me wish it well..
By the way, my take on the BO is that it’s changing - look at the Miley movie, and the Fast and the Furious neither have a huge bo start appeal (miley more than F&F) yet their movies did fantastic numbers… oh well, I can only hope that at least SOP gets its due where it would hurt the most.

I completely agree. The studio is determined to rewrite history on this movie. It may just be a way to divert attention from what may be violations of the strike - i.e., the types of script changes that are allowed during a writers’ strike.

It looks like Kevin MacDonald has had his talking points delivered to him straight from the studio heads. He is spouting these thinly veiled digs at Brad and it is pissi.ng me off. He wouldn’t even have this job without Brad. I wonder if the movie would have even had financing without the Pitt name attached.

And, yes, Crowe was a sell out taking this part considering the strike and the reason why Brad refused to go forward without a rewrite after the strike. Crowe has really been desperate to work his way back up the heap in the industry. I am sure that a nice payday with State of Play was also a huge incentive. He hasn’t had many of those in recent years and he was only starting to earn big when her practically self-destructed. So much for his hypocritcal attacks on fellow actors for doing ads. Clooney, DeNiro, Matt Damon, Leo, I guess impliedly Brad and Angie. He, of course does the exact same thing with his sports team - he uses his name to sell it and now the team is even a sponsor of State of Play. That’s a double commercial - Crowe using his name and fame and now his movie to support his own company.
I have noted that so far Crowe seems to be circumspect about commenting on Brad’s departure from the movie. In one interview Crowe said something to the effect that Pitt’s life was complicated at the time - though not negative it was still lying about why Brad left.

In any event the movie seems to be getting lukewarm reviews. A few actually hate it but mostly just think it’s average with some praise for some of the acting. Crowe can usually do a decent job in these type of roles. I am reading mixed reviews of the other actors including the fab Ms Mirren. In fairness, Mirren seems to be limited by her role. Actually Jason Bateman and Jeff Daniels got some shout outs from some critics. This movie should also get a boost in support from the critics because they believe they are journalists and they think this movie puts journalists in an heroic light. Who knows what kind of BO it will do. Let’s see if Crowe can get through the junkets and premiere without shooting himself in the foot.

If you’re out there lurking… More recognition is NOT a good thing. Neither is putting up ads. You can actually “monetize” a Blogspot site. They provide the ads - so you don’t have to drum up your own advertisers - and get a cut of the revenue a site earns. I don’t want to do that because I could bring the wrath of American Media, Wenner Media and Bauer Publications on my head. I’m sure that crap they turn out every week is copyrighted and me putting up their entire article WITHOUT permission…and earning money off of it? That’s the surest way to get myself sued. At the moment all they can do is a “cease and desist” notice and I can go back to what I used to do, which is summarize the articles and use quotes from them. I can’t imagine any of those media companies would be too thrilled with what I’m doing so I’m positive they wouldn’t just let me slide on the copyright infringement issue. Go figure, right?

Okay, let me see if I’ve got this IUC and tabloid fcukery right… Since the birth of their twins 9 or 10 months ago, Angelina Jolie has been pregnant at least five times and the baby is not Brad’s because Angelina is having affairs with different men, women, dogs and cats and President Obama, whom she plans to marry and then run for president in 2012. But she is also suffering from postpartum depression and cant get out of the bed and sleeps all day but she is too tired because she won’t allow anyone to help her take care of the kids and does it all by herself and this putting a strain on their relationship because Brad Pitt feels overwhelmed because Angelina is working and he can’t handle all the kids by himself and she is mad at him because he rubbed a Nanny’s back so he is now living in three different cities and two continents at the same time while having affairs with Nancy Pelosi, a stripper named Bunny or Honey or ??? all the while pining away for his ex wife whom he calls for advice, while plotting for his future affair with Natalie Portman, who is also getting ready for said affair by making out with Sean Penn. Shiloh and the twins are not his and since they are no longer together he has to take a DNA test so she can prove they are not his kids. Also a tell all book is being written about Angelina’s affairs with men, women dogs and cats and she does not want Brad to find out about what she is doing when he is not around, because he will divorce her even though they are not married because they could not come to terms about a prenuptual agreement although they secretly married three years ago, and were recently trying to beat John Mayer and the Ex to the alter..In the meantime Angelina is collasping on the set of SALT, because she is on a diet to lose 20lbs in 20 days and on another diet to get pregnant, and is sad , so her brother came to move in and play Dr Phil to help mend their relationship, while Angelina, beats the hel l out of Chinchillas and takes their fur and makes a hat and a poncho. The children in the meantime are running wild in a British hotel.

Just so people know. I sent nasty emails to the advertisers on IUC’s website and got great responses! One advertiser told me that he is a HUGE Angelina fan and that the website was not marketed to him that way. He stated that he will view the website and if it’s as tasteless as I said that he will pull his ad. I got emails back from others as well but I won’t elaborate as I am sure IUC’s crazy lurkers are here. I encourage everyone to do the same.

Us fans of Brad and Jen could figure out what happened without you telling us. It was all in the interviews and actions of both Brad and Angelina in the last 5 years. We even spotted the “Jen does not like change…how? her hair style for a start”

What we can’t figure out though…does she really really think she is all that and some…in term of acting. I can’t wait to see this movie. Stil haven’t seen CCOBB, went to rent the other day and asked the clerk because I couldn’t find it and she looked on the computer and said they weren’t carrying it. I was so disapointed. Guess I will just have to buy it. Love all his movies, I just love him period.

One of cinema’s truly essential elements is the audience’s willing suspension of disbelief. Thanks to that little idea, a film can step outside the boundaries of realism and simply chalk the implausibility up to creative license and the nature of the medium.

Sometimes, though, a movie just pushes reality too far.

That’s the problem that ultimately brings down director Kevin Macdonald’s (The Last King of Scotland) latest effort, State of Play. Adapted from an acclaimed six-part BBC mini-series, the political thriller smartly crafts its compelling conspiracy drama while weaving in tension with ease.

But any comprehension of American journalistic integrity is lost in the translation from the British source material to its Capitol Hill reinvention is . For a film that revolves around an investigative reporter’s exploration of a major political scandal, to paint a laughably inaccurate portrait of the nation’s media scene - as State of Play does - is an inexcusable case of truly lazy writing.

A reporter for the fictional Washington Globe newspaper, Cal McAffrey (Russell Crowe, Body of Lies) is a self-glorified figure who seems to naively believe in the enduring importance of his dying industry. With scraggly, unkempt hair, poor personal hygiene and a decidedly unorganized cubicle, McAffrey is the epitome of a stereotypical print journalist.

McAffrey meets his foil in Della Frye (Rachel McAdams, The Lucky Ones), a young political blogger at the Globe. While McAffrey continues to depend on old-school methods while typing his stories on a 16-year-old computer, it is Frye’s continual success writing thinly sourced online material that draws the veteran journalist’s ire.

Fate, of course, pairs the odd couple together when the facts of a homicide case investigated by McAffrey and a political scandal explored by Frye become unexpectedly tangled. At the center of the controversy is Congressman Stephen Collins (Ben Affleck, He’s Just Not That Into You), who just so happens to be McAffrey’s old college roommate.

The excellent leading cast is supplemented by an impressive crew of supporting players, including Robin Wright Penn (What Just Happened), Jeff Daniels (Traitor) and a delightfully feisty Helen Mirren (National Treasure: Book of Secrets). Only Jason Bateman (Hancock) seems miscast, as his usually amusing shtick feels woefully out of place.

Sadly, their efforts go to waste. Every time you find yourself getting into the film’s storyline, a scene reminds you how far-fetched the entire scenario really is. Any story penned by a journalist exposing a major corporate conspiracy directly linked to his college roommate would not only fail to achieve the far-reaching effects State of Play implies it would, but the article would receive absolutely no credibility.

This is not to overanalyze the film’s outlandish plot; rather, it is to critique the movie’s writing staff for making absolutely no effort to adapt a series from Britain (where journalistic code is acceptably less stringent) into something that would be even remotely feasible on American soil.

When considering that a pair of highly respected screenwriters such as Tony Gilroy (Duplicity, Michael Clayton and the Bourne trilogy) and Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon and The Queen) both spent time working on the script (though only Gilroy is credited), the film’s pitfalls become all the more confusing.

In multiple scenes, McAffrey and Collins clash heads over whether the journalist is acting as a reporter or a friend. But this tension would never actually happen for exactly the reason why the two fight: No paper would depend on a journalist to approach such a situation free of bias. Instead, the scoop would simply be reassigned to another writer.

Therefore, the climax State of Play is building toward is destroyed by this unfathomably egregious plot hole. How the film managed to enter production without drastic rewrites to the script is a question everyone involved in the movie should be asking themselves.

likewise my friend if you dont know them personally how can you pass judgement on the happiness of their children. 7 kids in four years? is the relationship stable enough to add to the family brood? what are te effects of so many children in such a short period of time - how will they be able to maintain an even shared love for each one of them - do you not think it this is healthy in any relationship? and the fact that they are not married what do you think the damage of this factor will be on their children? children compare themselves, their lives to others, do u think they are asking these questons? do you think they are embarrassed by a family that has just sprung up around them. i feel sorry for maddox because for the first couple of years he was the only one she cared for then he shared his mother with other siblings as much as we think this is a beautiful adapation the repecussions will lie in the latter years as we watch them grow. both parents work they are predominantly with nannies brad and angelina’s lifestyle adds fuel to the fire where they believe their world is filled with hundreds of people always watching them always taking photographs of them - what a life and i do believe that as much as brad and angelina wanted this huge family they failed to think about the damage they cause if you ask me it’s selfish and inconsiderate. so dont be a fool by calling someone else a fool when you have not considered the holistic state of affairs.

Love Brad and Angelina, am proud to be thier fan.

Sam Raimi’s horror-thriller ‘Drag Me to Hell’ is an almost certain midnight attraction.

Cannes locked in ‘Inglourious ********,’ from fest fave Quentin Tarantino, for its competition two weeks ago.

Fest toppers saw Ang Lee’s ‘Taking Woodstock’ for the first time this week.

The upcoming Cannes Film Festival will be swimming in top international filmmakers, as directors including Ang Lee, Jane Campion, Michael Haneke, Quentin Tarantino, Ken Loach, Pedro Almodovar, Bong Joon-ho, Marco Bellocchio, Lars von Trier and Johnnie To expect to square off for the Palme d’Or come May 13.
With one week to go before the April 23 announcement of the Official Selection, fest director Thierry Fremaux and his selection committee still have numerous films to watch, so this weekend will tell the tale as far as several titles are concerned. Unlike his predecessor Gilles Jacob, who tended to accept or reject films as he saw them over a period of months, Fremaux prefers to keep his options open to a certain extent until he’s seen everything, leaving anxious filmmakers, distribs and sales companies in the dark until the final bell.

All the same, the lineup for the competition has come into focus in recent days, creating an image of a fest that will be heavy on Asian and Euro titles, light on films from Central and South America, Africa and the Middle East and iffy where Hollywood is concerned.

Tarantino’s WWII saga “Inglourious ********,” toplining Brad Pitt, was locked in a couple of weeks ago, but fest toppers only saw Lee’s “Taking Woodstock,” set during the fabled 1969 music event, this week and extended an immediate invitation to the Focus Features release. Liev Schreiber, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Emile Hirsch head the cast.

Word is that Francis Ford Coppola’s Argentine family drama “Tetro,” with Vincent Gallo, will be viewed imminently by the committee, and that Werner Herzog’s “Bad Lieutenant” makeover, starring Nicolas Cage, is jockeying for a special screening or midnight slot. An almost certain midnight attraction will be Sam Raimi’s horror-thriller “Drag Me to Hell,” a Universal release toplining Justin Long and Alison Lohman that was very well received in incomplete form at the recent SXSW Film Festival.

Less confirmed word has it that Terry Gilliam’s “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,” featuring Heath Ledger’s final performance in a role that, after his death, came to be shared with Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law, may make its debut in Cannes.

Catherine Keener has joined the cast of Fox 2000’s “Percy Jackson,” Christopher Columbus’ adaptation of Rick Riordan’s fantasy-adventure book series.

The books, which put Greek gods in modern times, involve Poseidon’s half-human son, Percy, who is on a quest in modern America to prevent a war among the gods.

Columbus and Craig Titley wrote the adaptation.

ROTFL. Every negative review I’ve seen of SOP - and some of the positive ones - all point to the writing being the weakest link. I’m tempted to send this guy an e-mail and tell him that Tony Gilroy didn’t write the original script. That was Matthew Michael Carnahan and Brad wanted the movie re-written to get closer BACK to Carnahan’s original. Also, I think people forget that Brad was a J major. Even though his emphasis was marketing and advertising, everybody’s got to take certain classes - including news reporting and ethics classes - to graduate. Since Brad was only 2 credits from graduating…he took the news and ethics classes. So he could read a script on the newspaper industry with an eye toward certain details that studios just don’t give a crap about.

I’m still laughing that studios are actually still paying Russell Crowe $20MIL per picture. Uni had such a hard on to get this thing made that they willingly paid that salary KNOWING there was no way they’d make a profit on this movie with RC in the lead role. WTH kind of sense does that make? Meanwhile, industry pundits said CCOBB would never make $100MIL domestically…or internationally…and the movie’s made close to $330MIL…because of BRAD. So to quote Cook - “hahahahahaha” Universal studios.

They have all have had nothing but wonderful things to say about Angie and they will pull their ad once they check to see if my allegations are true. Many IUC members have stated that they will be “planting” these rumors on different blogs. Since that is the case, I will be relentless about contacting the businesses that advertise on his site since I am positive that they know nothing about what kind of site it is. I hope others do the same.

It’s hard, but it can be done - especially if you’ve got a job that gives you plenty of free time to spend with your kids, which Brad and Angie both do. They can take off for months or not work for an entire year and not have a financial hardship. So get over it. They’re family will grow as quickly as they want it to grow and since you’re not footing the bill - and neither are the taxpayers - it’s none of you damned business!

First off even before Brad, Angelina said she wanted many children….adopted at that time but many. Seeing how Brad is a wonderful, loving, supportive and also very involved she decided to have his children as well because she loves Brad and he also loves her. She’s a wonderful loving mother, I’m sure she melts Brads heart. Brad always wanted a large family the same as Angelina, I’m so happy for them. The troll is a moron. In one of the departments I cover almost every doctor has at least 4 kids amd there are. There are 18 doctors in the dept. Eight of these docs are faculty, the other 10 residents and follows. 6 of the 8 faculty of the have between 5 and 8 kids. Two of the residents have 4 kids or more. The dept. head has 7 kids - all bio - and something ridiculous like 24 grandkids and 10 great grandkids. One of the other docs has 8 kids…all under the age of 12. Another doc is a resident. He just turned 30 this year and he’s already got 5 bio kids - all under the age of 8. There are a couple of docs with 4 kids each. NONE of those docs have twins or other multiple births. One of the docs is some right-wing religious nut. Two more are Mormons. The rest just want a ton of kids. I could give the troll names and addresses if she feels like picketing them for having large families…somehwow I doubt she cares because it’s not Brad and Angie…

I find all of these reviews that mention how bad the script is to be hilarious. I’ll be watching the BO numbers on Saturday to see how SOP did on Friday. It’s opening in 2700+ theaters - that’s more than even Duplicity played in, but I’ve got a feeling that Duplicity will have better numbers than SOP.

Still nothing interesting on this site.. I love how people love to say how HOT Hugh Jackman is, How SEXY David Beckham is, How amazing Johnny Depp is, and HOW mad they are about Robert Downey and Tom Cruise..

Yet I note they do not support their threads nor do they go to see all of the movies. Yes Robert has had great success and so has Johnny. but other then the Pirates movies I don’t see a lot of block busters in his past. Where were all the fans when Australia came out. No where in sight. Will Smith had a huge disappointment in 7 Pounds, Where was the LOVE. I am a fan of Brad’s.. Do I like all of his movies… NO.. Is there and actor or actress whose performances I like all the time NO.. but please… Stop putting down Brad and comparing him to these other men. All are unique and different. All have their own appeal. But I will take Mr. Pitt on any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I am a fan, I support him and I stand by him. I am not a big fan of the other men mentioned. So sometimes I pay to see their movies on the big screen but more often then not I wait to rent on DVD. I pay to see Brad.

Like him or not. One of the differences is while some of you praise the performance of these and other actors. Saying how much better they are then Brad.. Take a moment to stop and realize you are on a Brad post… Why? Go to your idols and post about them. Get their comment numbers up. Hugh never gets that many comments. Nor does Robert or Johnny. I know to you they are just wonderful actors who don’t need the PR.. Please. Hugh works it for his films more then Brad. AND yeah Johnny likes to “stay out of the press” but watch.. he is going to work his as$ to get people to see his next film. Yeah they all play the game. It is just that some play better and get the butts in the seats. And others play it by pretending to act as if they do not care.

hi, Lylian. As I stated in a previous post, Brad Pitt’s acting ability has not improved since the 90s. I suppose as I was watching Benjamin Button I was expecting him to be better than he was in some of the past Brad Pitt performances I’ve watched. I was expecting something more from him, but he gave more of the same. I stick by my original posting by saying “he has not grown as an actor”. There is no need for name calling because I’m not going to change the fact that Studio heads continue to put him in roles that are too big for what he’s capable of giving. he’s just not good enough for the roles he’s accepting. Maybe that will change, maybe it won’t change.

I’ve watched all the movies I listed and I stand by my original post.
His acting is the SAME in all the movies where he’s the lead. The acting he displays has NOT gotten better over the last 20 years of his fame. There are better actors and he doesn’t deserve the roles he takes on. He’s in the same boat as the one note Clooney. 2 bad actors getting by on their looks alone.

If by ‘his acting is the same’, you mean he’s good at what he does, I agree. Pitt has made a point of playing diverse characters. If you don’t like him as an actor, so be it; but obviously, the acting community and the power movers don’t agree with you. Frankly, that’s all that matters.

Pitt has made numerous movies where his ‘good looks’ were actually played down. He chose such divergent roles because he did not want to be just a face. You can be jealous of someone’s looks, but you can’t fault them for having good looks. It’s easy to claim that that’s how someone got a job offer, but in the end you have to be good at what you do for people to shell out the BIG bucks that are being invested in some of his movies. I don’t know about you but I could never confuse Mickey with Chad or Benjamin with John Smith or Jesse James with Joe Black. Fortunately, Pitt gained enough success to be able to pick and choose what movies he wants to make. Pay attention to this “Pitt chooses what movies he wants to make.”

If you seriously think Pitt’s acting in all of his movies is the same, then that’s YOUR opinion and y ou’re entitled to it. It’s obvious that you don’t like him, so I don’t get why you’re watching his movies. Each actor has his own distinctive style, but the gift is in the ability to believe he is the character he plays. Even actor’s such as Spencer Tracy and Clark Gable had their ’style’, but they each bought a uniqueness to each part they played.

There are always better actors, but there is no one BEST actor in any generation. A lot can contribute to how an actor is perceived including the type of roles he takes on. Pitt deserves the roles he gets because, as I said previously, the Hollywood community respects his acting ability. Whether you agree with them isn’t important. If you were the money man, then your opinion of what he deserves would be important, you could hire whomever you wanted.. Sometimes people just don’t understand the nuances of an actor or of the character. You wouldn’t be the first to fall into that category.
