Josh Hartnett is a Mysterious Man
Josh Hartnett holds hands with his gorgeous girlfriend, model Sophia Lie, as he hails a taxi in New York City on Friday (April 14).
The 30-year-old actor who recovered from a severe gastrointestinal problem claims the cause was from ignoring advice about drinking non-purified water in other countries.
According to Josh, “It’s been reoccurring because I have been spending a lot of time in Third World countries, and I occasionally drank the water when I shouldn’t have - and sometimes it catches up with you.”

He is not a c-list actor, he is a great actor who hasn’t made it as big as other who call themselves A list actors just because they made crappy commercial movies with stupid predicatble stories that sell at the box office. Josh chooses more good independent movies because of the message they send and unfortunatelly people nowdays pay to go to the cinema to see the other c*rap.
……and due to that, making movies won’t be called ART any more. I can make a better movie recording my pet doing its day to day activities than what I can watch at the cinema nowdays, most of the movies are pathetic.

Laura, I agree with you.. I went to Egypt last September and avaided drinking tap water, even though, i got a bug or something from some of the food I ate and was quite sick for several weeks, I lost lots of weight.
What an underated actor. I saw him in London on stage and his performance blew me away. It’s a shame some other actors are getting so much money just because they won an oscar(all academy politics, imo) and people like Josh are not rewarded for the work they do.

What, thanks for the advice, I’m sure that diet work, but I can’t afford it,I have an office job, you know, one of those 9-5 that only pays you to make it through the month,….but, at least I have a job,so I guess I shouldn’t complain. Next time I’ll try the apple diet, it’s economic and I bet it works, you only eat apples the whole day,…..maybe I should try that one every last week of the month, when I’m broke.
Why blame a “third world country” for his poor health. In the first place if he had travelled overseas, or south of the border, he should have taken the required immunizations. Secondly if there is such thing as a re-occurring gastro illness due to exposure to contaminated water in a “third world country” why has he not received the proper medical treatment to prevent “re-occurrences”. Thirdly the description “third world country” is archaic and politically inaccurate. Mr. Hartnett needs to educate himself in these matters.

Third world, a term used in reference to Developing nations, according to wikipedia encyclopedia. There is nothing wrong with using that terminology to refer to the countries were he has been filming Bunraku and I came with the rain. Academic development workers use this term a lot in their circles. You are the one who need to be educated!!!!!!!

this term is often used to describe the developing countries of AFRICA, ASIA,LATIN AMERICA AND OCEANIA.Many poorer nations adopted the term to describe themselves. There are lots of charities that uses this terminology to refer to these areas of the world. It’s not wrong to use this term at all.

If Josh used the term ‘Third world’, he has done nothing inaproppriate. There is even a list of Countries of the Third World, thousands of charities and associations, UNESCO, nationsonline and others use it because it’s obviously right to use it. I don’t know why some people writing here think it’s wrong. Maybe lack of culture,ignorance, I don’t know,….but they shouldn’t talk about something they don’t know.

Agus, obviously you haven’t got a clue what you are talking about. If you think the term third world countries is racist it’s because maybe you would use it in a racist way. You obviously have got very poor education.
Agus, just google Third world countries and you’ll be surprise all the information you get, it has nothing to do with racism at all. Maybe you have misunderstood the term for some reason or someone gave you the wrong info.
I don’t know why some people here think racism is the same as third world countries, strange. Anyway, Josh is right, one of the big problems in third world countries is that people are getting lots of infections from the water there,a lot of people in those countries die due to water related diseases, that’s why when you travel there they tell you not to drink tap water.
It makes me realise how lucky we are, a lot of people in these countries don’t have access to clean water.

I saw him in London,too. He did a great job, his character spoke for the entire play, he was on stage most of the time, I thought he was really good. I wonder if all these so called A actors would be able to deliver such a good performance on stage, there, there are no double takes. It’s you and the public.
