OlderMadonna Falls Off The Horse
Madonna was taken to a hospital on Saturday after falling off a horse at the home of photog pal Steven Klein in New York’s South Hampton.
“The accident occurred when the horse Madonna was riding was startled by paparazzi who jumped out of the bushes to photograph the singer, who was visiting friends on Eastern Long Island over the weekend,” her rep Liz Rosenberg said in a statement to Us Weekly. “Madonna will be having further tests and will continue to remain under observation by doctors.”
Earlier today, the pair was spotted leaving a Kabbalah Center in Manhattan.

UPDATE: Madonna’s manager Guy Oseary adds, “Madonna’s accident today was caused by the paparazzi. They spooked the horse she was riding. These guys don’t know when to stop!!”

@rAQUEL: The driver of “Princess” Diana was beyond drunk and speeding when they crashed. Have you ever considered that it may have actually been his own fault and not the photographers who were following behind? Unfortunately for everyone who hates paps, we don’t try to run people off the road when we follow behind them in our cars. We drive like they drive, which in 99% of cases means the follow is calm and mellow. It’s only when a driver takes it upon himself to run lights or — in the case of Princess Diana — get drunk before driving — do things like this happen. But having a car or motorbikes following behind you doesn’t cause car accidents. That’s ridiculous! The whole blame on the paparazzi for the Diana accident is just as absurd as this story from Madonna. Here’s a unique perspective — paparazzi are human beings. I’m a respectful, intelligent, compassionate person. And I’m a paparazzi, as well. I’m sorry that I don’t fit into your stereotypes.
@Nanea: Sure, I can explain. It depends entirely on the situation. When Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan show up at some popular celebrity store on a major street in Los Angeles, what happens is 50 paparazzi show up and battle each other for a photo of her. They push each other, flash, use short lenses, etc. And it’s the usual Los Angeles chaos. But when there’s exclusive information about someone, such as Madonna in a private area of the Hamptons — where no paps typically go, by the way — it’s only going to be 1 or 2 photographers showing up, and they’re going to be professionals with long lenses. Why would someone with such valuable and exclusive information want to jump out of a bush to get a single photo when they could be 300+ feet away and get an entire set of pictures while going unnoticed? The entire story makes no sense. Paparazzi don’t think like that. When I first heard this story, I thought it was a joke. It’s mind-blowing that these idiots actually believe anything coming from this woman’s PR people. These are the same people who denied that she was getting a divorce, and called the rumors completely untrue. Ah, right, more lies!

The photos in question were posted online EXCLUSIVELY by the NY Post today. It looks like there was only 1 paparazzi there — and he was a photographer for the NY Post, who used a long lens. You can see clearly from the photos that the photographer was very far away. This is just another example of Madonna spinning the news.

Anytime something out of the ordinary is seen (such as a grown man hiding in some bushes or up a tree) a horse can be expected to look at it. They are a flight animal. This can mean the horse just jumps or steps sideways, or some will bolt - just depends on the horse. If the pap was getting a shot and suddenly moved, even if from a distance away, the horse will see it and might spook - just like YOU would jump if suddenly a stranger stepped out of the bushes in your backyard. There doesn’t need to be a flash and they didn’t need to be super close either.
LMAO. The horse probably saw what a freaky outfit his ‘mistress’ was wearing and bolted.
I agree with post #17. It’s highly unlikely that it was the paparrazi. What is likely is that she got tangled up in her boa and fell. She’s fallen before, indicating she’s not a good rider.

I don’t know why we shouldn’t believe her. I don’t think she would invent that kind of things when there can be proofs of that. And by the way, to the “proud” nyc paparazzo, so you actually believe that all your little friends are honest ? You prefer accusing her and defending your colleague than giving her the benefice of doubt ?
And about those pictures that haven’t surfaced yet, maybe the guy (and those who would buy them) doesn’t want to be accused if her accident is more serious than that after all ! So the best way for him to avoid being jailed is to pretend he wasn’t there and not sell his pictures for now… Just think about that…

Seriously HOSPITAL i fell of a horse on concrete or whatever and I had bruises but i didn’t got to hospital
Sorry but and people are saying omg this is serious PEOPLE FALL OFF HORSES its a risk sport and i had a bruise all the way down my back because I fell on a pole (that was a jump) seriously anyway . (I STILL didn’t go to the hospital)also TESTS OMG OVER THE TOP MUCH
