Hugh Jackman Has Huge Handprints
Hugh Jackman, puts his hand and footprints on cement in a ceremony honoring him in the forecourt of the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre on Tuesday (April 21) in Hollywood.
The 40-year-old Aussie actor said to the crowd, “I have to tell you, this particular block of real estate has brought me two moments in my life I thought would never ever happen. Hosting the Oscars and now here today. It means the world to me to be here.”
Hugh also admitted how much he owes to the X-Men character Wolverine. “This is a dream,” he said. “But I know how much I owe to this character (Wolverine). If it weren’t for him, I wouldn’t be here.”

X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. But the honor is not for that. He was supposed to put his hand/foot prints back to November but the ceremony was postponed due to time schedule problems.

There’s something about this guy that rubs me the wrong way… he makes me think of the man version of a Stepford wife. It’s like he’s always presenting himself as this oh so classy gentleman. he’s gorgeous, but he should be a little less concerned about looking so perfect, so dapper all the time.
Look at Brad Pitt’s career, he was seen as only a beautiful guy and now he’s working with the best directors and he’s getting good parts in good films. Jackman’s career is heading toward another territory.. I mean, does he really want to be seen as an action star more than a real actor ? Then why bother with the classical training he did back in drama school ?

clarice: you apparently have not seen photos of Hugh when he’s living his normal life, out and about with his kids. He has little concern for how he looks or “presents himself….classy gentleman”. He IS gorgeous and he IS classy. Is he supposed to temper that? Hugh has been the best part of every movie he’s been in. Watch “The Fountain” and “The Prestige”. He makes the X-Men movies so that he can afford to make indie movies.

4 different movies, 4 different roles from heavy drama to comedy to romance.
And how can you possibly know where his career is heading now since he hasn’t even announced a new movie project yet! The only thing we know about his next project is that it will be theater, a musical about Houdini, but even that’s not official. Better fact check before commenting, miss.
2nd to tom cruise (mi 3) no one has ever promoted (pimped) a movie as hard as hugh is right now. he’s everywhere doing EVERYTHING! i really hope wolverine does well.
Oh, and there is one more Jackman movie that most people have never even heard of and that’s because it’s actually an australian low budget urban drama. It’s called Erskineville Kings, a 1999 movie, the very first of his career. I found it on emule and personally I think in this film he gives one of his finest perfomances if not the finest. Don’t know if it’s available for renting in US.

He’s not orange. It’s the light reflecting off the background and the carpet. It happens when you take pictures in bright sunlight. If he’d been standing in a park in the same lighting conditions he’d look green.

@Chili Pepper: No they don’t pay. If they did then everyone would have their hand/foot prints in front of Chinese Theatre. It is a fact that since 1927 (when this honoring ceremony started) only 200, more or less, Hollywood stars have been honored. It’s by far a more prestigious honor than the star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It seems that today everyone can get a star there…
Btw, Hugh Jackman deserved it. He is such a versatile actor and a huge star. I’m thrilled to learn that his next film project will be a remake of the classic musical CAROUSEL. Jackman himself said so in an interview for the Daily Telegraph newspaper. If he eventually does this, well, I can already smell the first Oscar nomination…

To those who are still in the dark about the Jackman children:
Oscar is “a little of everything” according to Hugh. Black, Cherokee Indian and German….adopted in LA.
Ava is Hispanic/White and was adopted in TX.
Both Hugh and Deb were in the delivery room for both births.
I want to suck him off so badly.
@Leesa: Actually they were in the delivery room only at Oscar’s birth, Ava joined the family 4 days after her birth. Hugh Jackman himself says so in his interviews. Plus, they say that Ava is German/Mexican.
