Angelina Jolie arrives on the set of her latest movie Salt in New York City on Thursday morning (April 23).
The 33-year-old actress was seen carrying around the book “War of Necessity, War of Choice: A Memoir of Two Iraq Wars’ by Richard N. Haass. Part history, part memoir, the book provides a compass for how the United States can apply the lessons learned from the two Iraq wars so that it is better positioned to put into practice what worked and to avoid repeating what so clearly did not.

PT, I posted the below on the previous thread about Brad’s flying. I am reposting it only because I didn’t want that statement youfound about Jodie Foster and Patricia Cornwall to go unanswered. Cornwall and Foster have both been the victims of crazy stalkers. We all know Jodie’s story but Cornwall had her own Jolie-hater type internet stalker and decided to fight back.

Cornwall had an affair with a married female FBI agent and her husband, also FBI, got crazy and claimed this was the reason. He took a minister hostage using a fake bomb in his church in Manassas VA (suburb of D.C.) and tried to lure his wife there. He claimed he was driven crazy by his wife’s affair with Cornwall. The affair was admitted to by at least either Cornwall or the wife or both of them. I don’t remember now.

In 1997 the husband received a 23 year sentence for the plot to kidnap and murder his wife - I seem to recall dynamite sticks in the trunk of a car involved. I think his name was Bennett.

That Jolie is taking on this role is interesting because Cornwall has been stalked and attacked relentlessly on the internet by this guy [ Leslie Sachs] for ages. He wrote all kinds of vile stuff about her and claimed she did illegal things. She has plenty of time to read during film breaks. Sometimes an actor will be on camera filming maybe one hour during ten. The rest of the time they are in the dressing room. Just depends on how the shoots go for the day. Folks like Jolie, Kidman, Clooney et al are professional enough that they don’t bit*ch and moan and cause a disruption because they aren’t the center of attention unlike a Lohan et al.

In any case, in all fairness to Jodie Foster I Definately read that she went through years of difficulty after John Hinckley stalked her so aggressively, I can’t say as I blame her for not wanting to be high profile.
Uma Thurman had a very aggressive stalker in her early years after Dangerous Liaisons, and she actually said she stopped acting for a couple of years because it disturbed her so much.

I was actually a nanny for a while and I can tell you from experience: having a nanny to take over your child-raising duties because of pure choice is a very selfish decision. The parents in my case were very nice people and very loving to their kids, but this doesn’t excuse the fact that they put their own individual desires and goals over raising their kids, which if YOU bring them into this world, you SHOULD do if it’s within your means, either by staying at home for a while or reducing your work hours!
I understand a lot of people HAVE to work long hours and leave their children to others while they do so, but people like Angelina Jolie, who work so much out of pure choice, are really jipping their kids. I was practically raising their kids as I spent many more hours a day with them. I can imagine that filming a movie takes very very long hours on set…so she is probably not seeing these kids that much, and no, having them visit the set does not count.
I know you can try and defend this selfish choice by saying that a lot of people grew up in daycare or nannies and they had good childhoods, but having seen both sides of the coin, I can confidently say it is definitely not the same thing to be raised by your parents versus spending most of your time with others.
Kids need a LIFE with their parents, they deserve for their parents to raise them and not somebody else. I firmly believe that if you choose to bring somebody into the world, it is your inalienable duty to raise them and not hand them off to somebody for most of the day because you feel like doing something else.

Just in case you didn’t notice, she hasn’t been on a humanitarian trip for months and don’t tell me it’s because she had twins last summer – what she doesn’t have is real interest in these issues because all she needed them for was to prepare the ground for catching someone like Mr Pitt. Now that Mr Pitt is permanently caught and chained to her with the largest brood in the movie business, saving the world simply isn’t that exciting anymore.
I laugh every time when I come across anything about her love of humanity because it seems that Jennifer Aniston, Laura Dern, etc. are not members of humanity to Ms Jolie as they never saw her show the most basic of respect for their feelings when she hooked up with their men and made sure that they would see how hot her relationship with their men is.
The fact that Jared is explaining in detail what the book in Angelina’s hands contains, so that nobody makes a mistake about it, simply proves once again that “Just Jared” is a blog receiving payments from her publicist to make her look good after a very sinful life that didn’t take other people’s feelings into account even for a day – a life whose craziness she was proud to display for years until even her twisted mind realized that this was working against her. Funny – other people would have realized it much earlier but she took a long time to figure it out.

Angelina and Brad do not work full time all year round. They work at different times. They have short periods of intense work, 3-6 months at the most and they have the rest of the year off, full time to, spend with their children. That is more time than most parents spend with their children.

I saw first hand what a different upbringing these kids were getting, and how sad it was that they saw their parents so little, and that in fact, I was the one raising them.

ALBANY, N.Y. — “I like everything about her. I like her movies. I like her as an actor, and her just as a person. I love her.”
Angelina Jolie seems pretty popular in Albany, but it’s yet to be seen whether or not she’ll make an appearance.
“She might be showing up, so I’m hoping maybe I could catch her.”
The production crew was kind enough to label exactly where they will be, so we set up a stakeout.
“I think she’ll try to sneak in somewhere, but I really want to catch a glimpse of her.”
Not 50 yards away from the second staging area, we found a place where Angelina Jolie might buy an egg sandwich.
“Hopefully I can catch a glimpse of her.”

Movie could make millions for local economy
ALBANY - The making of a feature film in Albany is bringing out the actors, producers and entrepreneurs in droves.
Thursday marked the first day of shooting a chase sequence on Interstate 787 for Angelina Jolie’s newest film “Salt.”
Columbia Pictures isn’t the only one making money off the spy flick. The local economy is also getting a piece of the action — from the company that provided the crew tents at the Corning Preserve to the teamsters who trucked it all in.
Even Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings expects more movie deals because of this one film.
For the cast and crew of “Salt,” the stunts performed Thursday were just a rehearsal, but this could be Albany’s big break.
“We have to be competitive with other states. They’re getting a good look at how we can work together,” Jennings said.
The mayor estimates “Salt” will pepper our economy with cash. In the 10 days the cast and crew will be here, they’ll eat at our restaurants, shop at our stores, use locals for extras and pay emergency workers thousands in overtime for their help. At the Crowne Plaza, 25 rooms are reserved for “Salt” crewmembers.
It’s good news in a bad economy.
“It’s a nice windfall. So we’re glad to have them here,” Crowne Plaza General Manager todd Reichelt said.
Tommy Wilson of Schenectady is hoping for a little movie money too. He spent the morning staking out the cast and crew with a resume and repertoire. This small town guy believes “Salt” could help him to make it big.
“I’m here to aspire to my dream,” Wilson said. “I write and act and that’s what I’m here to do.”
Anything is possible in Hollywood on the Hudson.
“It’s a high-profile movie that people can see and show off a beautiful city, show people we can accommodate them, especially in the movie industry,” Jennings said.

ALBANY - Angelina Jolie’s stunt double missed the target landing. Gawking drivers almost missed the green lights.
Motorists feared that closing chunks of Interstate 787 to film an Angelina Jolie film would tie up traffic, but curious motorists caused the backups Thursday when they stopped to watch Jolie’s double perform stunts on a ramp above Madison Avenue.
Hooked to a harness, the high-flying double leaped from the top of a moving tanker truck as crews filmed a scene for “Salt,” an action-thriller in which Jolie plays Evelyn Salt, a 1970s era CIA operative accused of being a double agent.
The stunt double could be seen jumping off the top of the moving truck on one of the closed highway ramps above downtown Albany. Motorists nearly missed green lights while they stopped on Madison Avenue below to lean out of their car windows for a closer look.
But motorists who slowed traffic to gawk at Broadway and Madison were honked at by other motorists angry about missing the green light.
“Is Angelina here yet?” one man shouted
Alas, she’s not.
There is no official word on whether Jolie will be in Albany for any of the shooting, which is expected to last until May 4.
The ramps to I-787 at the Empire State Plaza were closed from 9 a.m. and expected to reopen by 4 p.m.
Officials worried closure of the road would cause problems for motorists, but traffic moved throughout the day.

Well, HA, sometimes when filming a director will spend all day filming a quarter page of script. I’m sure Angelina is smart enough to be able to memorize that quarter page without digging into family time or her reading time.
Before criticizing her for reading while waiting for her lines etc., why don’t you take some of your brain power and start researching acting as in movies or television. You’ll see there is a tremendous amount of down time which is why AJ also can have the kids in her trailer and spend a great deal of time with them too.
The only actors that have to memorize huge amounts of script are the soap folks. They film daily entire hour shows. Most prime time actors and movie actors have the script broken up in segments.

What is wrong with you? The JP’s spend more time with their kids than most of us mortals that HAVE to work do. They saved three kids from poverty–and Zee surely would have died if left in the Ethiopian orphanage.
Brad and Angelina work far less hours compared to those of us who put in 40 plus hour weeks and then rush home to our kids. And in this economy many of us are having to put in a lot more hours just to keep our jobs. I guess we all should be sterilized.
You do not know their circumstances. Yet you come on here to judge based on ONE experience you had. For all you know AJ has some or all of the kids on set. She doesn’t film every minute of every day she is on set. She might film ten minutes one day and eight hours the next. Both Brad and Angie have had the kids, sometimes all of them, sometimes in shifts on set. They have ready access to them in their trailers or the studio daycare etc. Wish I had had that type of job when my kids were growing up…one where I could pop in anytime to see them.
You don’t see Brad and AJ out carousing around at night so I am making an assumption they are home with the kids. AJ has taken huge breaks between films as has Brad. They probably spend more time with their kids than most folks do.
Shame on you for making generalizations based on ONE experience.

I don’t understand the comments that say Brad got involved in humanitarian projects because of Angelina. That is not true. Just because something is not known does not mean it does not exist. Brad has been doing a great deal. She said that he was and is more quiet about it. I have seen this countless times. There are lots of celebs who support causes because a family member or friend has a certain affliction. That is how it is. We are moved sometimes because of the people we love. Do your research people who criticize Brad. Find other celebs who are involved in causes and spread your disdain.
Most people.. NO not all, but most people come to a cause after they know someone who it has the condition or when it affects themselves. So regardless of how or when Brad became involved in humanitarian efforts, the point is he DID become involved. And yes I think that should be praised NOT Criticized. It is as always a negative slap to this man and who he is. Just like Angelina Brad has grown and changed. He has children and like millions of parents want the best for them. Hollywood Comes to Albany
A woman jumps off the top of a tanker truck on the 787 ramp, but don’t worry, it’s acutally a scene for the upcoming movie, Salt, starring Angelina Jolie. Hollywood has arrived in Albany.
The woman on the harness, is Jolie’s stunt double. The shooting of the scene, where Jolie’s character who is a CIA officer on the run, captured the attention of a lot of onlookers underneath the overpass.
There’s been a lot of coordination. In this first day a giant crane was brought in along with extra vehcilces and equipment. Plus not to mention the 150 crew members from Columbia Pictures.
Det. James Miller said, “They have gone to great lengths to minimize that impact by shooting from 9 to 4.”
The spot was chosen for its unique set of three overpasses. The shoot will close down those roads, and divert traffic for much of the next few days. Friday’s scene involves a car chase through a traffic jam. One of the extra’s driving in that jam is Jennifer Owens of Albany.
Owens said, “They tell you what speed you have to be at and you follow the car in front of you and then you have to back up to your original mark and do it again and again while they have the stunt cars going in and out of you.”
Owens already took part in a test run for the scene. She says she’s excited to take part in a Hollywood production right in her own backyard.
Owens said, “You’ll probably be only be able to see my car in this movie instead of me, but I’ll keep my eyes peeled for my Grand Prix.”
There was no sign of Jolie in Albany today, but production continues through May 4.
I guess they are making their kids ready for that big ANNOUNCEMENT which is coming. Angelina has been living in manhattan for one month and goes to LI only on weekends, Which is really WEIRD. I read IB’s producers have rented a boat for afew days earlier to hold parties for casts and crews only in Cannes. Angelina won’t go as she will still film her movie by then. But the real reason isn’t this. They are finished as a couple. They have split. They are just waiting for a right time to announce it to the public. Within afew months. But i guess Angelina’s absent in Cannes may lead them to announce their seperation sooner. BTW expect lots of new pics of Cannes parting in the boat and staying at bars until late hours in nights. You all are going to get disappointed when they announce it in this year. Poor You.

hahaha Of Course they won’t last forever. They couldn’t even last for 5 years , let alone forever. They have already split. I don’t think seeing your kids for two days per week is a good sign of being a loving parent. :lol: Brad did the same when he was filming IB. He stayed on set until late hours while he didn’t have any scenes just to stay away from home and baby blues. Now it is Angelina’s turns. Although she doesn’t spend it on doing nothing. She reads BOOKS and She has dates in her apartment. Hot men and Hot women. :lol: She is BUSY. But Yeah she and Brad are both amazing parents. When she goes to LI on weekends , she doesn’t bring her lovers , those times are JUST for kids. :lol: And When Brad is not on travel and in another city , she doesn’t do the nanny in front of the kids. They are both REALLY AMAZING. :lol: If only they were only able to stop FIGHTING in front of their kids even for the only two days a week they spend together , Things would have been even more amazing. :lol:

Again, my opinion is directed to parents who CHOOSE career over kids and give their kids 2-3 hours a day, especially with so many of them and so young….not to parents who HAVE to work. That is a completely different scenario. I don’t think parents have to spend 24/7 with their kids, but i also don’t think 2-3 hrs a day is enough for a child of a very young age.
and those kids are not on set on a daily basis, please….save your “it’s in the contract” defense.
I just love it when Brangie’s fans aren’t able to accept the truth. That’s what alot of Gossip Blogers have been saying. Angelina has been living in her manhattan apartment and she goes to visit her kids only on weekends. Not just one gossip blogers , but alot of them have said such a thing. The funny part is whenever Brad or kids are spotted in NY not LI is during the weekends. Means they came to visit their mom at weekend. And Brad has been away for at least 3 or 4 weekends during this time. Whether in L.A , NOLA , France and …. And even when they were spotted with girls , it was on Sat. It is obvious that she is not with the fam during the weeks. She only gets visist from her kids or goes to visit them only on weekends. And most of these weekends Brad has been away. Now it is funny because we got picture of Brad at LI’s airport yesterday while Angie is in manhattan. Which part of this is not OBVIOUS for you?

You really need a reality check. What are you talking about? She was in Thailand not too long ago doing her charity work even with two young babies. Some people would have given that a rest until the twins are at least 1yr old. She has been busy filming SALT since she came back. It’s funny how you have selective memories when it comes to remembering the things Angie has done and what she hasn’t done. So JJ is now receiving payment from her publicist. You are not only dumb but you are stupid. JJ always explains his postings but your brains seem to have shrunk to the size of a pea to remember. If your kids had choice to choose their parents, I bet they would have chosen Brad and Angie as their parents over you.
I wish the folks who keep whinning about Angie working less would do a little checking before they start posting. While Angie had 3 movies released in 2008- Wanted, Kung Fu Panda & Changeling they were all filmed in 2007. Her last move changeling wrapped production in December 2007. That means that Angie did not work on a movie set for well over a year. Movie Premiers and other promotional work on the films is part of the movie business, and while they get lots of attention, they are over within a couple of days. So she has kept to her word of working less now that she is a mother and partner to Brad. Quite frankly if she decides tomorrow to do 3 movies a year that is between Angie and Brad. They are raising their family, and they know what is best for their household. So Haters, please find something else to hate her for.
Some of you make it seem as soon as she gave birth to Shiloh and the twins she was off working again, FALSE. She took time off to breast feed all three which is a big plus in my book, breast feeding takes time and alot of patients. Next of all what’s wrong with Brad caring the children while she works? He’s more than capable and willing so what’s the problem? Isn’t she home for supper and bedtime with all 6 of the children? yes
Saying she’s a pi$$ poor mother because she works is so disgusting since most of the people posting work and leave their children with sitters or family and last I checked Brad was the legal father of all 6. It just ticks you off because she can do it all and apparently you can’t sitting on your fat a$$ waiting on your welfare check every month while playing on the computer dissing Angelina, Brad and their family for giving a damn.
