Brad Pitt is a New NY Pilot
Brad Pitt inspects an airplane as part of his training to be a pilot on Wednesday (April 22) in New York.
The 45-year-old actor was also spotted with his partner Angelina and their daughters, Zahara and Shiloh, at Stop & Shop in New York this past weekend.
Angelina has reportedly signed on to portray crime novelist Patricia Cornwell’s heroine Dr. Kay Scarpetta in a forthcoming movie, EW reports. The film will not be a direct adaptation of a particular novel in the 16-book series, but may combine elements from multiple books.

Tarantino back in Cannes with Almodovar, Campion
PARIS (Reuters) - Quentin Tarantino returns to Cannes as part of a group of familiar faces at the world’s biggest film festival that includes Pedro Almodovar, Ken Loach and New Zealand’s Jane Campion.
Tarantino, who won the Palme d’Or for “Pulp Fiction” in 1994, presents his long-awaited World War Two caper “Inglourious ********” starring Brad Pitt in the main competition line-up, festival director Thierry Fremaux said on Thursday.
He will be up against previous Cannes winners including Ken Loach, who presents “Looking for Eric” about former France and Manchester United soccer star Eric Cantona and Campion, who is showing “Bright Star” about the 19th century English poet John Keats.
Spanish director Almodovar, who has not won the top prize yet, brings an emotional drama called “Broken Embraces.”
The 62nd edition of the festival runs from May 13-24.

After an open bid process, the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority selected the Blue Line Foundation and its partner, Coastal Green Development LLC of Alabama, to buy 21 storm-damaged properties near Dillard University.
Aykroyd isn’t the only screen star working with NORA on redeveloping such properties. Actor Wendell Pierce, a native of nearby Pontchartrain Park and a star of the planned HBO series “Treme,” was part of the first group of developers to buy lots from NORA.

NEW ORLEANS — How much is it worth to keep the TV and movie industry humming in Louisiana?

Lawmakers will tackle that question as they decide whether to keep or expand incentives designed to make Louisiana competitive as an alternative to Hollywood.
If the Legislature takes no action in its session opening Monday, the current 25 percent tax credit for movie and TV show makers will drop to 20 percent next year and 15 percent in 2012. That’s a scenario those heavily invested in the industry say would be disastrous.
“If it’s reduced, it will kill the film industry in this state,” said Daniel Forman, president of a new multimillion-dollar studio in Harahan. He said he’s counting on the state to keep the incentive at 25 percent or raise it to compete with states such as Georgia, which has bumped its incentive to 30 percent.
Gov. Bobby Jindal has said he will support legislation to keep the tax credit at 25 percent through 2012. Several legislators have prefiled bills to do so.
So far, there appears to be no opposition to keeping the 25 percent credit. But a move to raise it might get an icier reception, said Greg Albrecht, chief economist for legislative fiscal office.

Columbia Pictures starts shooting Angelina Jolie’s new movie “Salt” this morning in Albany, disrupting traffic.
New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) Starting Thursday, April 23, and continuing through Monday, May 4, various ramps between Interstate 787 and the Dunn Bridge and South Mall Expressway will be closed to allow filming. The motion picture company’s contractor will sign detours when ramps are closed and electronic message signs will be used to inform motorists.

PARIS — Festival de Cannes organizers have invited old friends to this year’s event with Ang Lee, Pedro Almodovar, Quentin Tarantino, Johnny To, Jane Campion, Lars Von Trier and Terry Gilliam among the regulars bringing premieres.
Festival de Cannes toppers Gilles Jacob and Thierry Fremaux ended weeks of speculation at a press conference in Paris Thursday unveiling the official selection.
Fremaux confirmed the much buzzed about selection of Tarantino’s “Inglourious ********,” about a group of American soldiers fighting Nazis in World War II, which will bring Brad Pitt back to the Cannes red carpet. Tarantino won the Palme d’or in 1994 for “Pulp Fiction.”
Fellow Palme d’Or winner Von Trier will also bring horror drama “Antichrist,” which stars Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg as a couple who retreat to an isolated cabin deep in the forest after their son dies.
Campion, also a returning Palme d’Or winner, comes with literary biopic “Bright Star,” featuring Ben Wishaw and Abbie Cornish in the U.K. title about 19th-century poet John Keats and his love affair with Fanny Brawne.
And Cannes regular Pedro Almodovar will screen his melodrama “Abrazos Rotos” (Broken Embraces), starring Penelope Cruz, in Competition.
Lee’s “Taking Woodstock” made the lineups after a last-minute screening locked the film into Fremaux’s choice. Set against the backdrop of the famed 1969 music event, Lee’s picture stars Liev Schreiber, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Emile Hirsch.
Gilliam’s “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,” featuring Heath Ledger in his final performance before his untimely death, will screen Out of Competition. Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law complete the cast.
More recent Palme d’Or recipient Ken Loach will appear once again in Cannes with “Looking for Eric,” about a troubled young soccer fan and Gallic soccer sensation Eric Cantona. The film will vie for the Palme d’Or against Johnny To’s French-made “Vengeance” starring pop sensation Johnny Hallyday as a hitman out to avenge his daughter’s death.
Palestinian director Elia Suleiman will premiere “The Time That Remains,” a family saga spanning the 1940s to today.
Belgian director Jaco von Dormael will be in town with his sci-fi fantasy tale “Mr. Nobody,” with Diane Kruger and Jared Leto.
Michael Haneke will head to Cannes with his black-and-white drama “The White Ribbon,” about fascism in a German school in 1913.
Malaysian auteur Tsai Ming-liang ’s French-financed “Face,” about a Taiwanese director arrived in Paris to make a film about Salome, starring Mathieu Amalric, Jeanne Moreau, Fanny Ardant, Nathalie Baye, Laetitia Casta and Jean-Pierre Leaud.
This year, 52 feature films from 32 different countries will be screened, 46 of which are world premieres. 20 films will screen In Competition.
In the Festival de Cannes’ native French tongue will be Alain Resnais ‘ “Les Herbes folles,” Jacques Audiard ’s “A Prophet,” and Xavier Giannoli ’s “In the Beginning,” with Emmanuelle Devos, Francois Cluzet and Gerard Depardieu.
U.K. director Andrea Arnold will present her second big screen outing “Fish Tank.”
The Festival will close with Jan Kounen’s Coco Chanel biopic “Coco Chanel and Igor Stravinsky.” The Festival de Cannes runs May 13- 24.

If you really know what a marriage is, and not just some piece of paper, then yes, they are married and much more so than he ever was to that TV actress.
Tim Robbins calls Susan Sarandon his wife. No one goes into a tizzy over it, because after being together all this time and raising a family together, they are more married than those sticking together because they have a legal paper.
To fly, you have to keep up regular training hours. You don’t just get a license and that’s it, like driving a car. Glad he’s having fun and being able to keep his hours up while Angie’s working.

Remember yesterday when I said that Patricia Cornwell had been involved in some scandal about 8 years ago where she had an affair with the wife of some government official in Virginia with some hinky goings on? Well…I was at the EW link about Angie’s being cast as Scarpetta that Jared has at the top of the page. I started reading the comments - got disgusted by the fact that the Fanistons and Angie haters have to jump on every thread on the web that mentions Angie’s name…almost stopped reading…and then saw this post about why Jodie Foster dropped the project years ago…

Well since tons of people are throwing out the objections to Jolie and voicing their preference for Jodie Foster, I’d thought I’d throw this out.

Foster was initially interested in playing this role, and in fact did meet with Cornwell. Apparently Foster was always Cornwell’s first choice. I won’t repeat the particulars, but suffice to say that Foster decided against doing it, because she didn’t care for Cornwell - who’s kind of an oddball and had a weird life I guess?– anyway, so after their meeting, Foster ended up with severe, unwanted attention from Cornwell and as a result, Foster had to obtain a restraining order against the author. Weird right?
Mrs. Pitts new role is awsome.Brads a really cool Daddy,with the necklace,the girls (maybe) made for him.

PT, that is not true about Cornwall. Foster never did any such thing.
There was a crazy incident in which she was sort of involved in 1996 or 1997. Cornwall had an affair with a married female FBI agent and her husband, also FBI, got crazy and claimed this was the reason. He took a minister hostage using a fake bomb in his church in Manassas VA (suburb of D.C.) and tried to lure his wife there. He claimed he was driven crazy by his wife’s affair with Cornwall. The affair was admitted to by at least either Cornwall or the wife or both of them. I don’t remember now.

In 1997 the husband received a 23 year sentence for the plot to kidnap and murder his wife - I seem to recall dynamite sticks in the trunk of a car involved. I think his name was Bennett.

That Jolie is taking on this role is interesting because Cornwall has been stalked and attacked relentlessly on the internet by this guy [ Leslie Sachs] for ages. He wrote all kinds of vile stuff about her and claimed she did illegal things. The guy was a magna *** laude grad of Harvard with numerous degrees including a doctorate - so much for crazy internet freaks bragging about their exalted schools and inteligence. Crazy doesn’t limit itself to educational types or IQ levels - crazy is an equal opportunity employer. Anyway he tried to make her life miserable and “take her down.” Gee, where have we heard that before?

Anyway, Cornwall eventually sued this guy for defamation and won. Myabe even more than once. She has very good lawyers. Her case illustrates though the difficulty in going after internet character assassination. Though her case was a while ago and lawyers have become much more savvy & creative recently in going after internet defamation. In fact her lawyers have taken the Court order against this “defamer” to the internet providers and I think they have it so any link to that guy or any of his sites, etc. redirects you to the court order that essentially says he is a liar and these things are lies.

These ignorant defamers think that if you put IMO or JMHO after some defamatory statement that it automatically exempts them from libel. As if it is some protective talisman. LOL! It doesn’t. It isn’t. They don’t quite get it.

See. I told you all that there was this great small airport near their Long Island home [ maybe 10 miles away ] that provided all kinds of flying sevices. From private lessons to mechanical work on your plane to chartered executive plane service. This is really an ideal location for them on many levels.

Thank you I so agree. Angie had a wild side in her early twenties. Point is no one would have known ANYTHING about her if SHE herself had not shared them. After her divorce from BBT, you can see the change in her. It even started before the divorce. I could see it in pictures. She grew up. Then came Maddox. And like many women she changed after having a baby. Drew B has had a much more colorful life then Angie.. More drugs, men.. you name it.. Yet Drew is the cute sweet girl who made a few mistakes. But don’t bring up her past. “She has changed”… Yet Angelina whose past is known only because of what she had told people.. NOT because of anything they have seen her do.

I really hope that the negative reports are false and that the good reports are accurate. I do not have nearly as much money, but I have the 6 children and I want them to be happy. I have all the joy in the world with my family and our only worries are money. It would be lovely to have what I have and an unlimited income to go with it.
