ALBANY — Movie fans who came to catch a glimpse of Angelina Jolie today were not disappointed: The star of the action-thriller ”Salt” showed up at the movie’s shooting location on Water Street near the Interstate 787 ramp to film scenes for a chase sequence.

The film crew began shooting in Albany on Thursday. It was unclear until she arrived whether Jolie would actually be on the set for the filming.

Jolie arrived at the location a little past noon today.
.
Jolie shot part of a scene while atop a tanker-truck; previously during the shoot, a stunt double had been filmed atop the truck.

Film crews are expected to be working in Albany until May 4.

Filming for ‘Salt’ continues in Albany; actress Jolie spotted

Filming for the Columbia Pictures movie “Salt” continued into the weekend in Albany — and actress Angelina Jolie was in town to shoot a scene this afternoon.

CBS 6 viewer David Ellis captured an image the actress apparently filming with her stunt double early this afternoon on Water St. near I-787.

It’s unclear whether the actress will remain in town until the production’s scheduled end date of May 4th. Columbia Pictures has remained tight-lipped on Jolie’s scheduled shoot dates in Albany.

X’s in an indie that got picked up by Miramax to distribute. JLo’s movie will open wide. x’s movie will open in fewer theaters and hope to build business. Especially if it opens the same weekend as a major studio release like misManagment is doing. That movie’s supposed to open on May 15 - the same weekend as Tom Hanks’ Angels & Demons…a week after the Star Trek movie…and 2 weeks after Wolverine…and the week before Terminator: Salvation. It’ll probably open in fewer than 100 theaters and if the movie even makes $20MIL (and I’m being polite) I’ll be shocked…and the world will be shocked, too….

Actually Mickey has been denied from U.S for years now. I can’t remember whether it was in 2003 or 2004. He can come to U.S but only for few days. He needs to leave after those days are up. That’s why i never believed that tell all book. I knew he has never guarded Angie in U.S in all these years.

If Mickey wasn’t in the video and hasn’t been in the U.S. since 2003 or 2004 - then it simply underscores what I said about the Daily Mail/OuttaTouch story months ago. Two of the claims were that Mickey saw Brad & Angie having sex in her trailer on the M&MS set; and that Mickey covered up for Angie on a ton of occasions when she was meeting lovers in hotel rooms behind Brad’s back while Brad was shooting O13 and CCOBB. I said at the time it was bullshit because Mickey wasn’t working for Angie or even in the U.S. during ANY of that time. Every since the two of them got together - when they’re in the U.S. it’s been Brad’s security people. When Angie made M&MS she didn’t even have a full-time bodyguard in the U.S. When she needed one for occasions she hired one temporarily or if she was doing promotional work for her films then the studios provided one. BUT…don’t tell Ms. IUC…wouldn’t want her to burst an aneurysm, would we?

I’ve been on Maid of the Mist, there is a height requirement, the small kids like Z and Shiloh would be too small (the boat rocks and it sprays as you go under the falls), so enough with the people saying they should have brought those two. No, Passing Through, that wasn’t Mickey. To my knowledge Mickey has never stepped foot in the US to work with anyone. He guarded Nicole Kidman while they were in the UK for over a year making “Eyes Wide Shut and others. The last time he worked for BP & AJ, that I am aware of, was Venice FIlm Festival in 9/07. I don’t think he even went to Deauville with them. I think he would usually fly out to meet the Jolie-Pitts. He was with them in Canada in 2004-2005 and the BG “Billy’ who was with them here in the US in ‘07 was one of Brett’s boys at one time.

I can’t remember which video are you talking about. But Mickey has guarded Angie in afew occasion in U.S as well. Like in O13 premiere in L.A. He can come and go but for afew days. If you remember Mickey didn’t guard them in AMH’s premiere one week after O13’s premiere.

They quote a section of a story in the daily mail. There is no information in the HP post that there is NO BOOK being published. Nor any information that the bodyguard in question was bodyguard to many celebs and if there was to be a book, then it would also be about them. Nooooooooo. Only the INIMITABLE BRAD AND ANGELINA are mentioned.

Mad and Pax are so lucky to have a hands on Dad and grandparents to take them on adventures and let Mom rest with the 4 little ones. They are 2 happy much loved little boys.

Angelina Jolie, and her partner, Brad Pitt, are going to battle with a former bodyguard over a possible book he plans to write on working for the pair.

Burly bodyguard Mickey Brett has tangled with some tough customers, but none so tough as his former clients Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Once they entrusted their lives, and those of their children, to Brett. But now that they’ve learned he’s been thinking about revealing their intimacies in a book, the star couple has come down on him with the fury of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.”

Pitt and Jolie, who played married assassins in that movie, have recruited some of the most fearsome libel attorneys in the U.S. and the U.K. to
make sure Brett’s lips stay zipped.

Recently we obtained a proposal for a memoir and a TV show, both offering Brett’s first-person account of his years guarding the likes of Sandra Bullock,
Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Sly Stallone and Richard Gere.

The main focus of the pitches, though, was Brangelina. Suffice it to say that Brett had fond memories of Jolie, whom he had been protecting since 2001, and less fond recollections of Pitt.

Seeking comment from them, we received a bracing phone call from Marty Singer, the couple’s American litigator.

Singer alleged that Brett wasn’t a reliable source. In fact, he was a “pathological liar.” He said Brett’s lies to U.S. Immigration officials here had led to his being barred from entering this country. Singer said that only recently did Pitt and Jolie discover that Brett, who’d claimed he was a British SAS commando, never even served in the military.

Singer noted that in 1993 Brett was questioned in the murder of British tycoon Donald Urquhart, though he was later released. In 2006, Brett was arrested for assaulting a restaurant owner in Namibia. The same year, in India, he was accused of choking a photographer and arrested for roughing up and making racial insults against some parents who were trying to pick
up their kids.

All told, Singer said, Brett had been convicted 11 times of various crimes.
Pitt and Jolie had repeatedly come to Brett’s defense. But they apparently came to have doubts about his style of problem-solving.

As for his book and TV proposals, Singer said Brett was bound by a confidentiality agreement. According to Singer, Brett has now stated that he’d never signed off on the pitches and that many of the yarns attributed to him were fabricated by his ghost writer.

Brett’s attorneys told us: “Our client disputes what has apparently been said by Mr. Singer, but is not in a position to comment further at this stage.”

Brett’s ghost writer, Robin McGibbon, insists that he did not embellish the bodyguard’s stories.

“Mickey was definitely going to consider a book or TV deal if the offer was good enough,” says McGibbon. But at this point, he said, “there’s not going to be any book.”

I didn’t say that Mickey hadn’t guarded Angie in the U.S. at all. Just that he hadn’t done so during the M&MS shoot. And no, Mickey was NOT at the LA O13 or NYC AMH premieres. We talked about it here at the time that Mickey wasn’t guarding them on those two occasions but we did see Billy. They came back to the US after Cannes with Billy guarding them and that one guy we see a lot of now.

we spent the night talking about Brad having his hands all over Angie ass and I definitely don’t recall anyone mentioning Mickey being there. I’m trying to remember if this one of the premieres a former poster - Cold Hard Math - went to…I think it was because there were pix of Angie holding flowers and CHM gave them to her for her birthday…and I don’t remember her mentioning Mickey either. They arrived at the premiere in one of Brad’s Priuses…anyway…some pix here…but I don’t see Mickey anywhere and you know how he is - if Angie was signing autographs, he’d hover in the background to make sure no one touched “The Jolie”….

But he never gurded Angie during Mr&Mrs Smith’s shooting. He wasn’t in U.S at that time at all. The BG which we have seen with them after Mickey the old one and their recent driver which is with Angie in most recent NY’s pics were guarding her at that time. You can see them in afew pics of Angie on set. Mickey was never with Angie during Mr&Mrs Smith shooting in U.S and he wasn’t with her even when she went to Italy to shhot afew more scenes for Mr&Mrs Smith.

The cheating stories and the rest of it was first reported by The Daily Mail. Then OuttaTouch picked up the story with the same accusations. We have no idea what the ghost writer is referring to when he says he didn’t embellish on Mickey’s stories because the article doesn’t state which stories were supposedly embellished upon. The assumption is that it’s the stuff about Angie because that’s all we ever heard about it. The writer may be referring to whatever info/stories were in the book/tv show breakdown pitches that he and Mickey supposedly made while trying to strike a deal.

BTW - one of the funniest of the tales that OuttaTouch reported was that Brad made Angie do so kinky sex stuff for him and that Angie made Mickey go to sex shops and buy them some “toys”, including some S&M gear. I was ROTFLMAO! Angie LOVES Coco de Mer in London. She’s talked about going into that store in past interviews (June 2005 VF) and how much she loves it. When she and Brad were in London for Beowulf there was a very believable story that the two of them spent an hour in the shop and came out with a bag of crap. I seriously doubt they would have a problem buying that shite for themselves!

It’s been reported that Hollywood studios do not want to insure or invest in Aniston film projects.

Word is that most of the big studios do not want the ‘drama’ and false revenue created by a star that only generates box-office from tabloid sympathizers who pity and associate her with the unfortunate disintegration of her marriage to Brad Pitt, and the revolving-door circus that appears to be her present love-life.

Another stumbling block is that Aniston film projects seem to echo her personal life (Friends with Money, The Break-up, Derailed, He’s Just Not That Into You…and her upcoming film “The Baster”) , and the characters are too monotonus to generate sustained interest or critical acclaim in the coming years.

Studio producers don’t see 40 year old Aniston as someone who is able to reinvent herself based on recent projects which all qualify as ‘fluff pieces’. While Ms. Aniston has earned rave reviews for her fabulous figure, and youthful appearance, her inability to change hairstyles or persona since her hit show FRIENDS has posed a real problem with respect to her ability to shed the ‘Rachel’ character created in the 90’s.

Contrast that with Pitt’s current lady love and you see a plethora of roles in the past year alone where Ms. Jolie has distinguished herself as a versitile actress. This bodes well for the two-time Lara Croft, who is only 33 years old, and who apparently has a lot of years to delve into whatever projects interests her and the film-going public.

Though Jolie is on the cover of tabloids just as much, if not more, than Aniston, the Academy winning actress seems to have the ability to capture and hold the publics interest as well as respect. Jolie has also maintained an apparently stable and family-focused union with Actor/Producer and long-time love, Brad Pitt. Conversely, Ms. Aniston appears to have a new ‘dance-partner’ every year.

I guess Ms. Aniston better step it up before other actresses steal whatever thunder she may have left in the coming years.

A unified William Morris and Endeavor, likely to be called WME Entertainment, would emerge be a powerful new force, gaining leverage to counterbalance the studios’ growing clout. Though a deceptively modest sum in an age of billion-dollar government bailouts, it belies the outsized influence an agency has, because it is at the nexus of connecting talent with producers and distributors.

The deal could trigger a new era of consolidation, putting pressure on other smaller agencies, including United Talent Agency and Paradigm, to combine with larger firms. The last major talent agency consolidation was when International Creative Management bought the scrappy Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann Agency in 2006 to inject new life into ICM’s television business.

You can fool some people some of the time but not all people all of the time. Her gig is up …………………it’s indies for her and that’s it. I love the ‘fluff’ reference……so true. No talent but refuses to stop exploiting her infamous celebrity.

I think her showing up at the Oscars was the last straw for a lot of insiders who respect Angie and Brad as true professionals who bring a lot of cachet to the industry. They also know that when you are given much, much is expected of you.

In that vein, she doesn’t lead or even participate in the philanthropy that so defines many real stars. Like I have always said, for the extent of her talent, she sucks up way too much HW oxygen and after years of this, it appears they resent her for it. It’s about time. It takes a classy person to know their worthiness and deservedness and exit gracefully when their time in the limelight is over.

She just will not stop sucking at fame like it was a bottomless ‘rita’ I’ve noticed lately as well that she is flirting with the papz by looking straight into the camera. What’s left in her repertoire of staying relevant I cannot imagine. We’ve done the ‘body’……the ‘pity’….the ‘run at being a movie diva’……….the Angie bashing………stick a fork in her, she’s done.

SOP was a good movie but not Oscar worthy. Crowe flipped his hair so many times I thought I was watching baby jane.

I have never supported any actor as much as I’ve supported Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt after seeing Mr. & Mrs. Smith in 2007, and then researching and finding out they were a REAL couple with children together, who were also doing humanitarian things all over the world. I’m very protective of Angelina especially because I believe she has really been a genuine and loving person who has tried to be honest in every part of her life…during interviews,… with her friends and family, and in her roles in films…..but yet because of her beauty, uniqueness, and fearlessness she’s been demonized, lied on, and misconstrued at almost every turn…EVEN BY HER OWN FATHER. That must have hurt coming from her own blood. But still, she continues to excel, inspire, and even amaze. Love Love Love Brad for Angelina, and I certainly love Angelina for Brad. they have brought out the best in each other and continue to TRANSCEND HOLLYWOOD. God bless them

BTW, I want to say that I believe if SOP was starring Brad Pitt, the movie will go on to recover its production costs - which looks unlikely at this stage.

Of the 3 small to medium budget movies that Brad was in recently, Babel and BAR hit 101m and 99m in the international BO. Even though Babel only made 34m in America. This is the power of Brad’s international box office draw. Only AOJJ failed to draw a crowd. Even then, the international box office for AOJJ is 3 times the US box office - according to Box office mojo.

So, if SOP had done a mere 40m in the US, it could still do 70m internationally, which would come close to covering its production and marketing costs.

But I think SOP would have done better in the US with Ed Norton and Brad Pitt. The fans of fight club might be interested to see the 2 perform together again. Also, Brad is building for himself a reputation of being in interesting and good quality movies. He has selected very diverse roles in the last 4 to 5 years - from Babel to BAR to O13 to Jesse James to CCOBB. And he has projected a different persona in each.

I think she is enjoying getting back to work for a bit. As much as I am sure she loves being home with the kids; all stay at home Moms need to get out and interact with other people.

It’s been reported that Hollywood studios do not want to insure or invest in Aniston film projects.

Word is that most of the big studios do not want the ‘drama’ and false revenue created by a star that only generates box-office from tabloid sympathizers who pity and associate her with the unfortunate disintegration of her marriage to Brad Pitt, and the revolving-door circus that appears to be her present love-life.

Another stumbling block is that Aniston film projects seem to echo her personal life (Friends with Money, The Break-up, Derailed, He’s Just Not That Into You…and her upcoming film “The Baster”) , and the characters are too monotonus to generate sustained interest or critical acclaim in the coming years.

Studio producers don’t see 40 year old Aniston as someone who is able to reinvent herself based on recent projects which all qualify as ‘fluff pieces’. While Ms. Aniston has earned rave reviews for her fabulous figure, and youthful appearance, her inability to change hairstyles or persona since her hit show FRIENDS has posed a real problem with respect to her ability to shed the ‘Rachel’ character created in the 90’s.

Contrast that with Pitt’s current lady love and you see a plethora of roles in the past year alone where Ms. Jolie has distinguished herself as a versitile actress. This bodes well for the two-time Lara Croft, who is only 33 years old, and who apparently has a lot of years to delve into whatever projects interests her and the film-going public.

Though Jolie is on the cover of tabloids just as much, if not more, than Aniston, the Academy winning actress seems to have the ability to capture and hold the publics interest as well as respect. Jolie has also maintained an apparently stable and family-focused union with Actor/Producer and long-time love, Brad Pitt. Conversely, Ms. Aniston appears to have a new ‘dance-partner’ every year.

I guess Ms. Aniston better step it up before other actresses steal whatever thunder she may have left in the coming years.

On a happier note, this makes me respect Angelina more. When she realised that Billy Bob was not gonna be able to accept maddox as his son, she chose to put Maddox before Billy bob to ensure that Maddox will not have to grow up with a father figure who didn’t want him. Too many women are afraid of being alone, put up with abusive or neglectful men, sacrificing their children’s well being in the process.

It’s big, it’s green and it’s coming soon to a construction site near you.

Green building, that is.

Environmental building standards are becoming more stringent, and contractors are bracing for change.

That’s why construction lawyers and other industry professionals from throughout the country were in New Orleans April 16-18 for the American Bar Association’s Forum on the Construction Industry at the downtown Sheraton.

Despite the state of the economy and the fact some firms have been laying off lawyers, the turnout of 420 professionals was on the high end of what the ABA would expect in a typical year, forum chairman Robbie MacPherson said.

Perhaps the lure of New Orleans played a part in that, but there also seems to be a lot of interest in whether the green construction movement will be a turning point for the industry.

It will be interesting to see what green building approaches take hold in New Orleans. So far, builders here have been slower than their counterparts in other states to participate in seeking certification through the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program, the nationally accepted benchmark for green construction.

***Only two New Orleans area projects have attained LEED certification: a home in the Lower 9th Ward built by Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Foundation and the Chevron offices in Covington.****

But Louisiana is expected to receive $122.3 million in federal stimulus money to make buildings more energy efficient, which could translate to more jobs for contractors skilled in green building.

Eco-minded rebuilding efforts such as Make It Right and Global Green USA’s Holy Cross project have also been pushing to turn the tide, as have local organizations such as the Alliance for Affordable Energy.

Bottom line is green isn’t just a trend anymore. It’s here to stay, and it looks as though construction lawyers will have job security for years to come.•

Foxtel buttons up Warner pact

Australian subscription TV provider Foxtel has secured its first day-and-date partnership, with Warner Home Video Australia for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

[sb - rdf 1] The movie, starring Brad Pitt, will be available to subscribers on Foxtel Box Office Pay Per View on June 3, the same day the movie is released on Blu-ray and DVD.

Foxtel’s executive director of television and marketing Brian Walsh said: “This deal represents a transformational moment for subscription television subscribers who no longer have to leave home to see the latest-release movies as soon as they are available on Blu-Ray and DVD.

“To inform subscribers about this landmark deal with Warner Bros, Foxtel Marketing will be undertaking a full campaign - ‘push the button to watch Benjamin Button’ - so they can have on-demand access to the film.”

Maid of the Mist in the Falls is a whole lot of fun if you are well prepared in advance but it wouldnt be for little girl’s like Zee and Shiloh. They are too young and you can’t take babies so forget the twins. Hell i found it rough when we took our son in the spring of 04. He was 5 at the time. We will take our daughter when she is a bit older and be sure its in the summer.
From our experience i learned you want it to be a really nice warm or hot day and not so muddy around those jagged rocks. It’s quite the trip when prepared but the kids should at least be in kindergarden no matter what height they are or how they measure up for height at the entrance. Angie and Brad would of been ahead of the game making sure to know in advance how rough it can be in the spring altho yesterday was beautiful still mucky.
But I bet those adorable little boys loved it especially with Dad and their GPs.. My son loved it and you do get soaked.
I can’t believe Brad and his kids were so close to me and i missed seeing them. Dang!
