David Cook’s Brother Dies Of Cancer

American Idol champ David Cook’s older brother Adam has passed away after an 11-year battle with brain cancer.

David announced the sad news about his 36-year-old brother on Sunday at the Race for Hope 5K fund-raising race in Washington D.C.

“Like everybody here, I’m affected by this disease,” he told the crowd at the event, which raised money to support finding a cure for brain cancer. “I actually lost my brother yesterday to a brain tumor and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else right now. I lost one today, but I gained 9,000, and I will be here every year that they will have me.”

So sad. I have lost my parents and some friends to cancer. My thoughts are with he and his family at this time.

I’m so sorry to hear that . I lost my son, five years ago, to a traumatic brain injury (TBI)……so AWFUL!!

I had a very close friend loose there brother to brain cancer as well, its never an easy thing but you will make it and know he is in a much better place.

I was at that race, and i met him and got his autograph! but i had noooo idea, until after. he was so nice, and i feel terrible. RIP Adam Cook

I lost my brother in November 08′ to cancer, the day, before his birthday. He suffered for years, and is now with God. I feel your pain, but just remember his pain and sufffering are over, and he is with our lord and savior.

May God be with the Cook family. Cancer totally sucks!!! But, I agree at least he is with God, no longer suffering. Keep making great music David.
